Rose Court is clean and the staff are very caring. My mother and her clothes are kept clean. What more can you ask for? They do their best to keep them stimulated which isn't easy. I looked after my mother and father for over 2 years, daily calls, hospital appointments, casualty trips plus all the calls by phone night and day.

I am so glad to have a placement like this and I believe everyone is doing their best.

From personal experience, I would say that generally the care residents receive in Rose Martha Court is good and the staff are pleasant and very helpful. With some staff going above and beyond their duties. However, especially on the night shift, I feel residents' standard of care would be of a higher standard with at least three care assistance on duty, as most of the residents require the assistance of two staff.

I personally feel residents who do not want to participate in group activities or are unable to do so would benefit from stimulation via personally tailored activities.

The staff at Rose Martha Court do a great job in some challenging conditions. Mum has had a couple of falls and the staff, particularly 2 members, were fantastic in ensuring mum got the right care. It would always be great to have some more staff to help relieve the pressure.

I am happy with the care my mother is receiving in Rose Martha Court. Any problems she has are dealt with in a professional manner.

When I visit, I find staff very friendly and helpful.

Sometimes she thinks she is at home which is comforting.

Staffing levels are adequate but the dementia unit, due to ages, abilities, toileting needs etc needs to be higher numbers to help the unit operate. Like most homes, there are too many agency staff who do not know the residents unless used regularly. Residents and families prefer to know the staff. A few sofas in place of chairs in the lounge would improve family visits and allow closer contact with residents.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
We could not have asked for a better environment for my father to end his days.
You were so kind and understanding with all of us too.
It was a blessing to find you.

Thank you.

I would just like to congratulate the staff who looked after my father in his last days. Their compassion and caring was a credit to their calling. It made his last days more comfortable and was solace to the family in that we knew he was in good hands. Thank you for caring.

Overall Experience

From our first contact, the Rose Martha care home showed that it treated all its residents as with care, respect and kindness. The manager showed us around and clearly knew everyone's names and situations. He understood that we were looking for somewhere which could cope with Dad's inabilities but would make the most of any abilities he still had.

We were particularly impressed by the beautiful pot plants in the room of a lady who could no longer communicate and whose family lived far away and could only visit once a month. It was the nurses who looked after the plants, making the room so much more homely: I'm sure they cared for the resident as they cared for the plants. The manager was keen to show us the kitchen (always a good sign) when we turned up unannounced and the staff there were jolly and clearly proud of what they had achieved - it smelled good!

The welcome cafe is such a good idea too and shows that thoughtful, people-centred innovation is the way forward.
