I am generally satisfied with the level of care provided for my father. Now that he is settled within the care home environment, many of my previous worries and concerns have been removed from daily life.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father has been in Buckingham Lodge for over one year and has been very well cared for in all the time he has been there. The staff are always polite and cheerful no matter what the problem is. My father has been in hospital and has gone back to the home and unfortunately has not been too well, but
the staff have been attentive at all times to both myself, my family and of course my father. I cannot praise the staff enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.722) out of 10 for Buckingham Lodge Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.722 for Buckingham Lodge Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (278 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 363 Ratings = 4.722
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Buckingham Lodge Nursing Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 73 registered maximum number of service users is 14.6, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I joined Kingsley in October 2025. I have worked in healthcare for 14 years, starting as a healthcare assistant. I have a passion for high-quality care and a positive culture, making the care home the best home for our residents. I have had the benefit of working in a wide range of environments, including care homes, learning disabilities, live-in care and most recently mental health. I completed my MSc in Mental Health Nursing with my aspirations to become a care home manager. I have horses and dogs that fill all my spare time. I enjoy going on a ski holiday each year.

Job Title: Hospitality Manager

I come from a background in managing hotels and community pubs, where our aim was to make our guests feel like part of the family by providing the very best hospitality experience we could. I’ve brought over what I’ve learnt from high street hospitality and hope to apply it within the care industry. I decided to move away from pubs and hotels because I wanted to work where I can make a difference in peoples lives. Away from work, I enjoy Photography, songwriting and city breaks.

Hello! I’ve worked at Buckingham Lodge since 2018, I started on a bank contract as a Housekeeper whilst I was in high school as I moved into college I started to learn more within the home such as Kitchen Assistant, Laundry, Support Worker and Senior Support Worker. Everybody is so supportive and I know who to turn to if I need some help. There are also lots of training opportunities that I utilise to expand my knowledge in various areas.
