Acorn Lodge is a well-respected care home in Nuneaton that has facilities for residential, dementia or short-term respite care.

Just a short bus ride from the town centre, the home happily accommodates couples and companions who wish to remain together as they continue their care journey and make new memories side by side.

All rooms are furnished to a high standard and the spacious lounges offer opportunities for socialising and participating in activities. All residents are able to enjoy communal films in their cinema and get their hair done in the hair salon.

Dad was admitted to Acorn Lodge on Christmas Eve - he has dementia. From the word go we have been kept up to date with his progress, informed of any concerns about him, and received prompt feedback with regard to any concerns we have had. As it was during lockdown, it could have been a very stressful
experience for all of us but the staff ensured that we were able to maintain face-to-face contact (of sorts) throughout lockdown, using dad’s computer tablet. Dad tells us “the girls are so good to me”, “it’s a beautiful hotel”, “the food is excellent”! We know he wouldn’t say any of these things if it wasn’t true. Knowing he is happy, cared for and loved, makes us happy! We know that we will get to enjoy the very best of him during his twilight years, whilst his wonderful carers will take care of some of the worst. There’s always a friendly and helpful voice on the end of the phone or a smile and welcome from the moment you arrive at the care home thanks to the lovely girls in admin/reception.

Mum has been at the home for over 2-years, and during that time, she has been treated very well. The staff always have time for her and are very good with her. They always keep us well informed, and during this difficult time, we know she is safe and she is happy, which is very important.

Our friend has been staying at this residential care home for the past 3 1/2 years. Our friend is very happy here. There is regular entertainment (under normal circumstances Pre Covid 19 ). She has her hair done weekly, and she is very pleased with the care she is provided with. She is very happy with
the food and all of the staff. We feel that the establishment is well run, very clean, well decorated and is furnished to a high standard.
All of the staff are also very caring and happy; I particularly like the manager, the girls on reception and everyone else that works here.
To know our friend is in such a lovely place is comforting for us and we do not worry about our dear friend.

Mum has been a resident since February 2018 and in all of the time that she has been there, her care has been excellent. The staff are so friendly, helpful and professional, nothing is too much trouble. Mum has always been happy and contented when we have visited her.

When mum came into here 18 months ago she was unable to do a lot of things especially those she enjoyed. With encouragement from the staff, she has greatly improved. They have helped her master her mobile phone so she can keep in touch with myself and my siblings. In particular, one carer has helped
and encouraged her with her knitting she now knits toys like she used to and says she can do it.
This carer takes the toys home and sews them up and fills them with stuffing for her and brings them back so she can display them in her room. She also has been encouraged to join in activities and mix with residents.

I visited a resident of Acorn Lodge care home today.
I was impressed with the home, this was my first visit. The home was clean and well appointed, with lovely gardens. I visited the resident's room which was comfortable and had some personal photos in.
The staff were cheerful, pleasant and very caring
and helpful.
I was pleasantly surprised. The home was like a five-star hotel.

Mum has been encouraged to take up knitting again.
She couldn't stand, let alone walk, which has come on fabulously.
Mum is much happier here than she has been for the last couple of years.

Overall the care and attention afforded to the residents seem to be of a high quality from my observations when I am visiting (twice a week). However, I have not visited any other homes so cannot give a comparison. The high turnover of management-level staff is concerning! Not all organisational changes
are thought through e.e., seating in the upstairs lounge area is now very difficult to navigate and not5 really conducive to conversation - visitor to resident!

My mother moved into Acorns from another care facility in October and from the start, the care she has received has been brilliant. The surroundings are modern and suitable for her needs. There is a stimulating entertainment programme, painting, visiting singers and entertainers, even a petting pony.
On a recent emergency visit to the hospital, a Carer went with her until I could arrive. The ratio of staff is really good. They are even helping to arrange her 100th birthday in June!
