Mum has settled in really well during her two weeks of respite care. The facilities are lovely and clean. The staff were excellent and really put Mum at ease encouraging her to walk etc. Mum has enjoyed the food and the afternoon activities put on for the residents too. We would definitely use you again!

Since my relative went into care in Acorn Lodge Care Home in September 2022, she has been extremely happy and consistently has had nothing but praise for the home and its staff. She is treated and cared for well, when she has needed more support it has been provided. She is extremely happy in Acorn Lodge, as am I happy that she is there too. Acorn Lodge is a lovely caring friendly well-run care home which always has a welcoming and homely feel. Mum's initial respite stay in Aug 22 turned into a permanent residency after she settled in so well. Mum has never once got upset as we say goodbye after each visit which gives us comfort she feels safe there. Dementia is a terrible illness and the staff are wonderful with mum and she is extremely well cared for. It has been great to see her enjoying the activities held at the home and tucking into the wonderful cakes baked daily! I attended my first Relatives Meeting this week, the first of many I hope.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful and always with a smile. My father-in-law suffers from dementia, having been with Acorn Lodge since December 2020. He is very content and likes being looked after by the staff members! Recently, 2nd of November 2022, my mother-in-law suffered a heart attack at the age of 92 years, and she has been accommodated by Acorn Lodge for a two-week respite stay, and again, she cannot fault anything. She also stayed in the home in September 2022 for two weeks.

There is always a welcoming and homely atmosphere when you enter Acorn Lodge. My father, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident for nearly three years and has been extremely well cared for. I have always been kept informed via telephone if there is anything that I should be aware of relating to his care with an honest and informative conversation. My mother recently suffered a heart attack, and I had no hesitation in booking her into Acorn Lodge for two weeks to aid her recovery, as I knew she would be well cared for.

When we arrived we were met by friendly and welcoming staff. This put my husband right at ease. Since then he has been well looked after with care and understanding. The home seems well run and only have to ask the staff at reception and they will sort it. My husband has settled in really well.

We have found Avon Lodge a really friendly, caring, and safe place to be. We are always kept well informed of any change or problems in a calm, reassuring way. Our relative has settled in really well, making friends and enjoying the company of the wonderful staff too. Acorn Lodge has given him back his quality of life.

A very caring, well-organised care home. All the staff go out of their way to be supportive, considerate and kind. The home is excellent in regards to facilities and decor. My mum is very much at home.

I am so pleased and happy with the service plus dedication that staff and carers give to all at Acorn Lodge. They are kind and helpful to my wife and I when I visit, I am very relieved that my wife is happy to be looked after. She enjoys all meals that are provided for her and I have Sunday dinner with her which is excellent. It makes me so relieved to know that my wife is very happy there and she tells me, 'This is my home now'. It is good to know that there is somewhere and these care homes take the pressure off someone like me.

Dad was admitted to Acorn Lodge on Christmas Eve - he has dementia. From the word go we have been kept up to date with his progress, informed of any concerns about him, and received prompt feedback with regard to any concerns we have had. As it was during lockdown, it could have been a very stressful experience for all of us but the staff ensured that we were able to maintain face-to-face contact (of sorts) throughout lockdown, using dad’s computer tablet. Dad tells us “the girls are so good to me”, “it’s a beautiful hotel”, “the food is excellent”! We know he wouldn’t say any of these things if it wasn’t true. Knowing he is happy, cared for and loved, makes us happy! We know that we will get to enjoy the very best of him during his twilight years, whilst his wonderful carers will take care of some of the worst. There’s always a friendly and helpful voice on the end of the phone or a smile and welcome from the moment you arrive at the care home thanks to the lovely girls in admin/reception.

Mum has been at the home for over 2-years, and during that time, she has been treated very well. The staff always have time for her and are very good with her. They always keep us well informed, and during this difficult time, we know she is safe and she is happy, which is very important.

To know our friend is in such a lovely place is comforting for us and we do not worry about our dear friend.

My sister and I are very grateful to Acorn Lodge Home for looking after our mum. The care home has been very kind to us and the care and service our mum is getting we couldn't wish for more. They have been looking after mum with lots of love and support.

Mum has been a resident for over two years. She has been well looked after and is very happy there. The staff are very caring, which is very important to me as I do not live locally. They are always happy to answer my questions when I phone Mum. During this difficult time, I have felt relieved to know Mum is safe and that the staff are working extremely hard to keep the residents safe.

When first walked into home reception staff so friendly. It always smells fresh and sweet in all areas always very clean. Brilliant all round caring staff. Very good entertainment and activities provided. Excellent food provided at all meals. Room facilities superb, all-round 5 stars.

This carer takes the toys home and sews them up and fills them with stuffing for her and brings them back so she can display them in her room. She also has been encouraged to join in activities and mix with residents.

Mum has been at Acorn Lodge for just over 1 1/2 years and in this time has been extremely well cared for. I, as her daughter, can rest easy knowing that she is well looked after. The home itself is lovely and the staff can't do enough for you, they are very approachable and if you need any help and assistance they are always willing to help.

Absolutely delighted with my mum's care. I have been tonight and it's fantastic. Couldn't ask for better.
