Acorn Lodge Care Home - Avery Healthcare

My Dad has been at Acorn Lodge since May 2018. He came straight from hospital, having had a nasty fall. He receives a high level of care and support and his health has improved significantly. The staff are busy but always quick to help when needed. The home is very welcoming and we now have peace of mind.

I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness and care given to my friend. Her room was very pleasant and welcoming and she looked well cared for and was obviously happy.

I was pleasantly surprised. The home was like a five-star hotel.

I visited my ex-neighbour and found everything to be excellent - she was happy and well cared for. The care home was spotlessly clean and really appeared to be more like a first class hotel - a great place.

Mum is in safe hands.

Overall the care and attention afforded to the residents seem to be of a high quality from my observations when I am visiting (twice a week). However, I have not visited any other homes so cannot give a comparison. The high turnover of management-level staff is concerning! Not all organisational changes are thought through e.e., seating in the upstairs lounge area is now very difficult to navigate and not5 really conducive to conversation - visitor to resident!

On a recent emergency visit to the hospital, a Carer went with her until I could arrive. The ratio of staff is really good. They are even helping to arrange her 100th birthday in June!

Acorn Lodge is beautiful and welcoming. All the staff are lovely and helpful. My Nan loves it here. I would recommend Acorn Lodge to everyone. The manager is lovely and does a superb job.

My husband has been in Acorn Lodge since July 2017. I cannot praise it enough. Care is excellent and the staff are wonderful and very caring.

Very helpful on admission. Staff are polite and caring both to residents and family. The facility is nicely kept and welcoming, beautifully presented. Food is good quality and very varied. The rooms are modern and the shower rooms are to hotel standard. The hairdressing salon is a good standard and reasonably priced - a nice touch for ladies. Maintenance is prompt and very efficient. All in all, more like a retirement hotel.

My mum has been in Acorn Lodge Care Home since January 2014. From several that we visited, this was without any doubt our favourite. Welcoming, friendly and a feeling of not actually being in a care home - more a hotel environment. Contact with staff members has been very positive and the level of care excellent. After visiting mum, I am always reassured that we made the right choice. I short, I feel 100% confident that mum is in good hands. She will never get better, but I know she is safe, secure and as comfortable as is possible which gives me total peace of mind. I would certainly recommend Acorn Lodge Care Home.

This is truly a first class facility.

My mother has been at this care home for 5 years this month and during this time she has been happy and content even though her Alzheimer's has got progressively worse through time. I have found the staff always to be caring and friendly even though at times they are rushed off their feet. Because of the way the home is run and the staff employed there, I can relax knowing she is in good hands.

Acorn Lodge Care Home is looking after my Great Aunt very well. She is in a safe, supportive and very welcoming environment where nothing is too much trouble. I have been totally impressed by the standard of care, attention and humanity that all the staff show and this is consistent across the patch. I have no hesitation whatsoever in commending Acorn Lodge Care Home.

We are sorry to hear that she won't be coming back, but the two people that have been managing the place do it very well and they should keep the job. They are always around to let us know what's happening also by email or phone. This is very important to me as our family all live away from dad.

My sister suffers from Vascular Dementia and I find she is well cared for at Acorn Lodge Care Home. The staff are kind and gentle as my sister's needs are 24-hour care. A record is kept of how much she eats and drinks which is very helpful when I visit her.
