Cumbrae House Care Home

My dad has made friends there which I love to see. A massive thank you to all the management and staff at Cumbrae House.

Absolutely fantastic and professional. They took the time to chat and the duty of care is brilliant. My dear friend, who is like a brother to me, came here from the hospital seriously unwell. He is treated with great dignity and made so comfortable. Staff spend time chatting and reading to him, to ensure he is happy. Thank you to all the team at Cumbrae House.

Most of the staff are okay, the management is useless. After asking them to call an ambulance repeatedly for my mother who had had a fall and couldn't move her legs, they advised me to come up the next day and take her for an x-ray myself. She had damaged her hip. Useless people.

We will never be able to express our gratitude to the staff enough for making Mum's final days so serene and pleasant.

Staff go above and beyond for all residents. Cumbrae House Care Home are fantastic at what they do. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect, a perfect example of a well-run care home. A special thanks to the manager for doing such a fantastic job with both staff and residents.

Recently becoming a resident after a period of being unwell, the Cumbrae House Care Home team have involved Dad in making himself 'at home'. During a difficult time with lots of pressures, including Covid-19, his confidence and communication have come on as everyone seems to work together at settling down. The manager and team have worked hard, regularly talking to all the residents and helping with communication with those outside and unable to visit.

Since my elderly aunt was admitted she has come on great, she was always a private person, keeps herself to herself, but now she interacts well with staff and the other residents, eats a lot better than she used to. Overall is a lot better for being in Cumbrae House Care Home for her health and overall well-being.

My stepdad went into Cumbrae House Care Home in June this year and I must say the staff and all who look after him are doing a great job. Really pleased with the care he is receiving, also contact with us as a family, when required, by the care home manager.

Care home is spotless. Staff are very caring and helpful nothing is a bother for them. My uncle is enjoying the care home he's very happy being well looked after and putting on weight, he goes to the shop for juice. Well managed home.

All departments have been exceptional!

Cumbrae House have been very accommodating to our whole family. Rooms are nice and staff are very friendly, helpful and patient. They have taken very good care of my grandfather. Very thankful.

My father has been a resident at Cumbrae House since November 2020. The staff have been fantastic at making him feel at home and he tells me he loves being here. He has had a few health issues and they have been dealt with promptly and with lots of care. I feel that I'm always up to date with his care and all the staff are lovely and treat my dad with care and dignity.

Cumbrae House Care Home staff look after my mum and keep her safe. They facilitate my visits and nothing is too much bother for them, the home and garden area are kept clean and tidy. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

The home is excellent, staff and facilities first-class. My wife is very happy here, I would recommend it to all my family and friends.

The comfort and care my uncle had received since he entered Cumbrae House Care Home in 2012 had been excellent. My uncle was able to choose his room and seeing him happy the day he first visited was a memorable moment. The staff had been there to comfort him during his ups and downs of his life and looked after him very well, by allowing him to live his life as if he had been in his own home. The staff had also been a great support to my father during the time his brother was a resident and could not have been kinder.

Can I book a place.

From the initial process of getting my gran's placement arranged to the ongoing care and support she received during her stay, we can't thank the staff at Cumbrae House Care Home enough. From the beginning of gran's stay until she sadly passed in Feb 2021, staff were very professional, knowledgeable and personable both in caring for my gran and in liaising with the family. During the first 2 lockdowns, we were still permitted a visit each week which meant a lot to us and gran. Any medical updates were communicated promptly and clearly to us. Staff were always willing to take the time to provide us with very regular updates on gran's wellbeing. When we were able to visit gran in her room we were very impressed by the conditions in Cumbrae. The communal areas were bright and clean as was my gran's room. There was no institutional smell. The facilities were well kept and the staff team truly cared about my gran's welfare. the service was above and beyond and I've recommended the facility to many people.

I would like to thank the manager, she took me in a year ago when I was ill and was having a very bad time. I have come on great. They are great staff and she has made this home lovely, so we can live here and enjoy our lives. The manager makes time for us so it is great. Staff are good. I have worked in homes and this home is great. I hope to stay here with everyone.

Recently at my visit, we got given the chance to use the screen for a hug which made my grand year so thank you.
