My first experience of Gracewell of Kentford was a visit to view the suitability of the home for my aunt aged 94 years. It is a wonderfully kept home which can provide all of her needs. Aunt moved into Gracewell of Kentford in October 2016. Since then I have found that ALL members of staff have been magnificent with such kindness and care to Aunt. To a layman's eyes the nursing care standards give good cover and reaction to individual needs. The home is run for the residents and there is generally a relaxed and jolly atmosphere. The dining tables are beautifully laid for lunch and residence family can stay for lunch whenever they want. The staff are really kind with a sense of humour. The residents could not be better looked after. My mother is very happy there and is able to manage with the minimum of fuss and no stress.

Generally this care home is excellent but lately I feel that there has been a decline. I visit my mother most Saturdays sometimes on other days. This last weekend 16th April, her windows wouldn't open due to being jammed by something she had hanging on there but when I went to reception there was no one around to tell/report also I've noticed on several visits that her table is unclean with dried on food and drink I suspect that it's wiped everyday but this isn't sufficient to get into cracks etc. Otherwise the family have been pleased with the level of care mum has received.

I cannot thank the staff enough for giving Mum a truly happy, contented and above all dignified final two years. The immense sadness her family feel now that she has died is much reduced by the knowledge that she died peacefully in Kentford Manor surrounded by people who genuinely cared for her. Thank You.

I started working at Care UK in 2014 through an agency for Glastonbury Court. I’m proud to have worked my way up, having started in the domestic team, then moved into care and a managerial position as a residential lead at Davers Court, followed by Home Manager roles at Mildenhall Lodge and now Kentford Manor.
I see managing a care home as a privilege. I am very passionate about my role and doing the best for the home, residents, relatives and colleagues. I believe that being open and honest, relatable, reliable and approachable to all groups is very important to achieve the best outcomes for all.
I love working at Kentford Manor because of the challenge of my new role, and I’m excited to build new relationships with the team and, most of all, the lovely residents and families here.
To be successful in this role, you need to have patience, empathy, and an understanding of different residents, staff, and family members. You should be polite, always be there to listen and try to understand every situation through different eyes.
The best part of my job is seeing the residents happy, having fun and being able to live their lives the best they can.
A big passion of mine is football, and I love to spend time with my daughter. We love to watch her dad play football all weekend.
