Brinnington Hall

My Mum has been living here since last December and I cannot fault the home or the staff. I was reluctant to move her into a home but it was the best thing I could have done. She is safe and happy and the staff are wonderful. At home, she just sat doing nothing all day unless the friends called round. Here she has lots of company - residents/staff/visitors and great activities every day including really good entertainment. I know she is well cared for and you only have to look at her to see that she is happy.

I was very concerned when my Mother had to go into a care home as she was incredibly independent. She has now been a resident for 5 months and settled in extremely well thanks to the wonderful staff and management. She is now taking part in some of the activities within the home and we honestly never thought she would join in. A huge thank you to all staff.

My mum has been a resident of Brinnington Hall for just over a year now and I am more than happy with the care and support she receives.

The staff are patient, hardworking and kind and all residents are treated with respect and understanding. Great food too!

There are more varied activities now that an activities coordinator has been appointed. The home is always welcoming and has just been refurbished with lovely new furniture. I would recommend Brinnington Hall to any future resident.

So glad my ex-working partner is in such a loving environment, although dementia is taking hold, with the help of the staff he seems to be coping very well.

I think when your Mum needs care you are unable to provide, it is a really difficult decision to decide 'What to do next'. I can only say that with the care Brinnington Hall provides we have 'hit gold'. My Mum has high levels of dependency and care. She is always treated with the utmost respect and the care is excellent. The management is of high quality and the leadership team provide a high level of expectation of the staff.

When my auntie moved in last year, we used to find that her clothes had gone missing and that she would be wearing other people's clothes. This was very upsetting and not a good start.

The first week she fell in the garden early in the morning while staff were outside having a smoke. There have been times when she has gone into hospital without a member of staff. It's very important that she has someone with her who knows her as she has dementia.

There have also been times when these hospital visits have not been necessary and she ends up in hospital for days, all because she needs to be assessed at the home and they take days to go out and assess her in hospital.

This is very upsetting and distressing for her and her family.

I come into Brinnington Hall on Tuesday every week to visit a friend.

I found everyone to be pleasant, the home seems well-run and always clean.

All the staff are very pleasant and hardworking too.

I have been visiting for around six months and Brinnington Hall is by far the best, mainly because of the staff who are wonderful. They seem to love what they do and love the residents.

The staff are always helpful and do all they can.

Mum has been very well cared for and there is always a very happy atmosphere with plenty of activities and entertainment. The food is excellent and all the staff help to create a warm, homely atmosphere. As well as making sure her medication and hygiene standards are kept up.

She can hardly see without them so it matters.

I have found my experience with Brinnington Hall on the whole very good. Everyone is helpful and friendly.

My mother came into Brinnington Hall directly from hospital for a 4-week respite care plan to get her up and running with the aim of returning to her home. She loved it so much she decided to stay there. She recovered well and was very well looked after by all the staff. The standard of the home and staff are very impressive. Visitors are very welcome and included her favourite Alfie the dog (who also loves the visit and attention from guests and staff). On behalf of all my family, thank you very much. My mother is much better, happier and safe thanks to all the staff at Brinnington Hall.

Always attentive to the residents ensuring their needs are looked at. Can't complain.

Generally very good. But I am disappointed that my sister who is 92, having had a suspected heart attack, was allowed to go to hospital in an ambulance at night on her own, without a member of staff going with her.

Activities are planned and my mother seems to enjoy the majority of them.

As for all staff at Brinnington Hall, they are like one big happy family looking after residents like their families. Thank you. Couldn't ask for a better care home.

We attend a pop-up evening for the Chinese New Year. I can only say the effort that the manager and team put into the evening was outstanding and our mum thoroughly enjoyed herself. We were served an excellent meal by the managers and the wine and bubbly flowed. We had a singer and joined in the dancing - can't wait for the next one!

Mum moved into Brinnington Hall in November 2016. She had been living in a care home which was unable to meet her needs. The caring staff and management at Brinnington have treated her with kindness and patience and have managed to persuade her to sleep during the night and be up and dressed during the day which has been quite a challenge as she was refusing to even get out of bed. We can see that she is beginning to settle. Mum is not a good eater and we like the fact that we are encouraged to make her a cup of tea during our visits and eat toast and biscuits as needed.
