My uncle Ron had a very comfortable, fun, fulfilled final 14 months of his life. All staff cared and helped him as if they were their own and were always chatty and encouraging.

If any carers at Azalea Court needed any reassurance that all their hard work, difficult & unpleasant jobs went unnoticed, then be assured you gave Ron a final happy few months despite his pain, in what he felt was his family. Thank you

Our father has been well looked after at Azalea court. Arlene is always happy to help address any concerns we have with our fathers care. All the staff are kind and caring. The nursing home is clean and well looked after. Arlene always makes us feel at ease that our dad is in safe hands. Thank you so much to the whole team.

Mum was on Poppy Ward for 4 months and was always clean, comfortable and well cared for. My family and I were always welcomed when entering the building, and the genuine care for residents shown by all members of staff, from nursing, ancillary staff, housekeeping, admin and the lovely Bistro ladies was exceptional. Arlene, the Matron, and her team supported my brother and I through an emotional time, their warm patience and gentle reassurance made an incredibly difficult journey a little easier to bear.
All over the end of November/December period Azalea Court went above and beyond with decorating the home inside and out so beautifully. The entertainment over the Xmas period for the residents was fabulous, which I will never forget.
There is a good choice of fresh food every day, also a range of daily activities if the residents wish to participate. The rooms and communal areas are bright, spacious and clean.

My brother and I couldn't have asked for a nicer home for my lovely mum.

My friend was a resident at Azalea Court for almost eight years and it is a testament to the quality of the care given to her that she was a resident for almost eight years. She was always clean, comfortable and well cared for whenever I visited.

My husband is well cared for and the staff are trained to look after him.
The home is kept clean, there is always a member of staff available to discuss any concerns with.

I enjoy reading through the daily sparkle with my husband as it gives us different subjects to talk about.

My mother was a resident on Poppy unit.
She suffered advanced dementia, her condition deteriated to the extent she did not remember family names , even when prompted. Indeed she could no longer recognize her own reflection
The care shown by all members of staff was exemplary, be they nursing, ancillary domestic or administrative
Everyone spoke to her kindly, and at times she responded happily to their encouragement . In her final days they even managed to motivate her to dance with me awhile!

I will always be grateful for the loving care and attention

A fantastic care home, cannot recommend high enough.
My mother has had the best care we could have asked for. The carers care for her like family.
The efforts the events team goes to throughout the year is exemplary and they always strive to keep their residents engaged and active. I really appreciate this as finding this level of engagement within homes can be difficult.
There are too many outstanding staff to name, but each of them are outstanding and have a genuine care for the residents.

I always know when I say goodbye to my mum she is in the best hands.

I really love this care home, the staff are wonderful. Even when they are busy and you buzz they come ask what you need.
Sometimes when you're upset they take time to talk to you or just listen to you.

The food choices are not bad and tasty.

Staff are polite, helpful and keep us informed of any incidents .
On occasions dad was found on the floor, where he has fallen out of bed. This is worrying because dad can't walk.
Dad only offered porridge. We bring in custard, chocolate mousse, jelly and cream.
Would be nice if dad was offered a variety like this. We realise he might need some encouragement ( visual).
Dad/room is always clean and tidy.
Nice to hear from activity team that they played dominos with dad.
We like the Bistro!

Dad loves hot chocolate.!!

I am more than happy with Azalea Court and the staff. The care she receives is very very good and they are very attentive and supportive of her. She can be difficult at times with eating and not really wanting to mix very much but they show her the respect a 98 year old deserves and are very understanding

I hope this helps with any reviews and please just keep up the good work.

Many thanks

Michael

My friend has lived in Azalea for over three years and during this time, has always been treated with respect. The level of care is very good.
All the staff - carers, management, housekeepers etc are very friendly and attentive. There is a welcoming atmosphere on entering the building.

Social events are arranged quite often not only for residents but also for relatives and friends to enjoy. Recently VE day was celebrated with live entertainment and a choice of food.

Deciding to place Dad in a nursing home was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make, but I'm grateful that the experience we had as a family was overwhelmingly positive. He was treated with dignity and respect, and the care he received was outstanding. We had the privilege of getting to know the entire team-both staff and management-during his time there. Sadly, Dad passed away at the end of December, but the care and support he received during that final week, both for him and for us, was nothing short of incredible. It was truly heartwarming to witness the emotion and compassion from his care team, which reassured us that he was loved and cared for until the very end, giving us great comfort in such a difficult time.

Overall Experience
Dad was on Astor floor for just short of 12 months and the care and nursing care he received were of an excellent standard. The home is bright and clean, homely and welcoming. The staff were all so kind and supportive, we were always made to feel very welcome whenever we visited (which was often). Dad never had a bad word to say about the staff or his care and he always had a smile for everyone. He enjoyed participating in many of the activities and events that were organised for the residents and we were always welcomed in to share these times with him and make special memories. The staff, residents and other relatives at Azalea became like another family to us.

Trusting a nursing home to take over the care of our Dad was such a difficult thing to do but we needn't have worried as Dad was always treated with kindness, care, respect and dignity at all times.
