My daughter is in Azalea Court care home and she is very well looked after with the tasks that she can’t carry out. She is always spoken to with respect and friendliness. Her room is well-maintained and cleaned regularly.

My mum has been in the Poppy unit for almost two years now.
The whole unit really made her feel at home and everyone caters for her needs.
Her eating has improved as she lost the ability to swallow however recently, it has improved due to the patience and experience of the nursing team.
The management and the team are amazing, including the activity team.
I like the way the activity team always have events going on which really encourages the residents to participate in normal day-to-day things.
The whole team really support Mum and are always happy and kind towards the other residents too!
In Poppy unit, they are very caring and always making the residents laugh, creating a good atmosphere.

Whenever I visit I can always sense a good vibe and walk away happy that Mum is in a good place.

Very welcoming. Good communication.
Friendly staff.
Husband been here a year, I’ve had no complaints.
It’s hard having him here but staff do make it easier for us.

We know he’s in safe hands and that’s very reassuring for me and family.

My father has been a resident for almost 3 years. Every day is a positive experience for him.
He particularly enjoys those moments when someone makes that special effort to know him as a person.

The nursing care is excellent. He has challenging health issues, but they are looked after and improving.

Compassionate care and a supportive place for our loved one at an extremely difficult and upsetting time. Clean, homely and caring environment. Cannot fault any aspects of the time that he spent here. Was a relief after coming from a hospital environment to see him made comfortable and cared about. Thank you all.

Mum was at Azalea Court for a very short time, but I can say that her needs were met as soon as she arrived and she felt safe and cared for. Our family cannot praise the staff enough for the care, attention and dignity that they provided her. On our visits, we were made to feel very welcome. Any questions we had were answered promptly by the fantastic staff on Poppy Unit and the reception team.

Thank you very much.

Complete care that's required and tailored to mum's needs, medication and nursing.
Food is of good standard and residents are given fruit, snacks, and refreshment. Sunday roasts are tasty and are as good as home-cooked. Regular updates face to face or via phone Re mum's health or any problems that might be occurring and will be resolved swiftly. She’s shown kindness and compassion.

Daily activities and encouraged to participate, shows, singalongs and therapy pets go in to entertain residents.

We never want to put our loved ones in a home but for my dad, I felt his safety and health were in danger at home. Having experienced another home with my Nan, I can honestly say Azalea Court is much better than most. Staff are friendly, many activities go on every day and I feel they know my dad very well. I can visit when I want (some restrictions during the height of the pandemic) and take him out when I can. There are family events and opportunities to express our views. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a safe and caring home.

I can never find the staff I need to talk to when I am at the home. I am not being informed of changes in my mother's medication. I am not notified of meetings or activities. I asked this week for my Mum to be seen for her Birthday out of her room. I gave over a week's notice and even called the day before but this was not done. Parking is awful. White lines are needed for the parking bays so people who cannot park will be able to see the lines!

Whenever I visit my aunt, she is always well presented, clean, and comfortable. She has her hair done regularly. Her room is always clean, warm, and tidy. All the staff are very friendly and caring. Any medical issues are addressed very quickly. The staff are always happy to spend time with me to discuss any issues or just general progress.

The care home has become a prison fortress since March 2020, with the payback of being Covid free. The management has been very strong in keeping Covid at bay. The downside is the mental anguish of residents in the closing years of life, deprived of those who love them most. There is no perfect solution to this virus pandemic and full marks go to precautions taken to protect residents at Azalea.

My mum spent her last nine months on Poppy unit at Azalea Court. I don’t think she could have had better care anywhere else.
She was treated with respect and dignity by nurses and carers, all staff in fact. The home is well managed by the manager, supported by her staff that is efficient and hard working. There are frequent activities and events they can take part in if they are able to.
In particular, we are very grateful to the nurse and manager of Poppy unit, who was very professional, efficient and caring throughout Mum’s stay, treating Mum with patience, respect and compassion at all times. She not only looked after mum’s health and well being but also supported us at the difficult time of mum’s passing and kept us informed.

I highly recommend this nursing home. It has a clean, pleasant environment, lovely garden and comfortable rooms. The staff is caring, hard-working and committed to their residents.

My mum came to Azalea at the end of her life, spending only a few weeks there, but it was such a contrast from the home she had come from. She was treated with respect and dignity, from Nurses and carers that truly cared. The Nurses are so professional. I feel that I was supported too. I just wish I had moved her to Azalea much sooner. Highly recommend this 'Care Home'.

It’s coming up to nearly six months, my brother is a resident at Willow’s Nursing home. It was a very difficult decision for us as a family to put our beloved brother, husband and a dad to relocate to a care home. After doing some research and good feedback our family are very happy with Azalea’s facilities and cleanliness and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The manager at Willow’s is very prompt on discussing the latest progress on the resident patient.
Although this is our first encounter with a care home, we are very pleased to let our brother become a resident at Azalea Court.

A special mention for the manager, as a family we are very thankful to you on how you gave us confidence on doubts we had as mentioned earlier. It’s always daunting for a family to put your loved one in a care home, but the way you at Willow’s, with your nursing staff, gave us the confidence and reassuring, the trust was very touching, thanks.

Review from Simon P (Husband of Resident) published on 29 January 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Willows Unit is a dedicated High Dependancy nursing wing of Azalea Court and is run by staff who are very knowledgable and caring towards the residents.

My wife was admitted three weeks ago now, and whilst there her condition has seemed to take a decline, but the staff are very friendly, and do their best to help her be comfortable in her final days.

Because it’s a nursing wing, there is a buzzer system to call the nurses when required, just as there would be in a hospital. Nothing is left unthought of. At times it’s felt like there’s not enough staff like there should be two nurses on duty at any one time, not one. There are 8 rooms in Willows, and sometimes more than one of the residents needs assistance at the same time. It’s very hard for one nurse to split themselves in two.

The food could be a bit better, but that’s the only downside. Maybe find a different supplier.

Other than that, Willows has been brilliant in looking after my wife, and I’d recommend it to anyone.
