Laundry department take charge of belongings very well. Nothing seems to go missing. Some items of clothing may need to be ironed though. Mum has been at Gainsborough for many years and in previous years everything was ironed nicely. I appreciate it must be a very busy department and they do well really. Unit can sometimes be noisy and the bussers/alarms can be piercingly loud in some areas. Every member of staff is always so very helpful and approachable. We are very happy with Gainsborough House. Home has started sending out a newsletter, nice to read.
Thank you for your wonderful 5 star review. The manager will share this with the team, thank you again for taking the time to write this review
Very pleased with Dad's care. Done more here than in hospital. Always clean, tidy, smart. Room immaculate.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted that you are pleased with the care your dad is receiving and that you feel the home is immaculate. We will share your feedback with the team.
Nothing is too much trouble and not only do they care about him, but they support and help me to understand and deal with the difficulties that Alzheimer’s disease can bring.
The quality of care, the surroundings, the menu, and many activities that are tailored personally towards the residents are all outstanding.
I wouldn't want my husband to be cared for anywhere else.
Thank you so much Gainsborough House.
Thank you for your review and for recognising the amazing staff at Gainsborough house. We pride ourselves on the care at Gainsborough House and also the activities and daily menu choice. We are pleased that you would not want your husband to be cared for anywhere else. Thank you again for taking the time to write this review.
My mum was to see if she liked it. After 1 night I bought her home, no staff. Left without a drink out in bed in clothes, told she would have to stay there until they got the right equipment to move her which had to be ordered. Didn’t get medication until 12.00 am. The decor is very nice but patients are out in the corridor part, not the fancy rooms that are on their website. Wouldn’t recommend this place.
We are sorry to learn about your recent experience at Gainsborough House and we can assure you that your experience is not typical of this home. L&M Healthcare takes all complaints against our service seriously and investigates them using due process. Please contact us directly should you wish to access the complaints procedure.
I would just like to email and let you know how much I and my family appreciate your staff at Gainsborough House - the staff on the Renoir floor. My mum was taken in to hospital yesterday with a suspected stroke, she was there from 8 am and no one on A&E could provide personnel care and she was getting sore. The A&E dept was over run and Mum was in a corridor all day. The staff from the care home called me to see how Mum was doing and I mentioned about the personnel care, within 10 minutes two members of staff arrived at A&E and, not only cleaned Mum, they brought her fresh nightwear. They were not in uniform so I can only guess this was done in their own time and is over and above what I would expect - that is the sort of ladies they are - they always go the extra mile and are a credit to London & Manchester Healthcare
Thank you again.
My mum received the most amazing care during her six months at Gainsborough House. She was treated with dignity and respect. Can’t thank the nurses and carers enough for taking such good care of my mum, especially in her final days. They made a very difficult time for me much easier with their care and compassion.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write this lovely review. It was a privilege to care for your mum during this time and we are proud to hear we were able to make this difficult time a little easier for you.
My wife went to Gainsborough House on 14/2/23. She was welcomed with open arms. She was only in till she was rushed into hospital on 10/5/23 where she sadly passed away with MND. I recommend this care home, second to none. The love and care them lovely ladies showed my wife was unbelievable. The ladies went above and beyond their duties, anything my wife desired they did for her. The love and compassion they showed to my wife were heartwarming, to say the least. She was on the Piccasso floor, I can't thank them enough for making her stay as comfortable as possible. God forbid I would need to go into care, I would pick Gainsborough hands down. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ladies.
A fantastic facility with such caring staff. So many activities with alot of thought going into what the residents would enjoy. Lovely meals and the dining room is always set up beautifully. Made a fuss on resident's birthdays and ensured everyone is comfortable and happy. Lovely rooms and always spotlessly clean.
The manager and team will be delighted that you have recognised how caring the staff are, the meaningful activities that take place at Gainsborough House and the lovely meals that are prepared. We take great pride in making sure the dining rooms are set out to a high standard.
Thank you again.
I would recommend this care home to anyone
Mum passed away in March 2023.
Having your mum live with us at Gainsborough House was a pleasure and we would like to thank you for your 5-star review.
The manager and staff will be delighted with your lovely comments. Thank you again.
My father is currently on Matisse floor. On visiting him on Christmas Day the conditions of his room were abysmal. The toilet seat was stained from faeces, there were stains on the bathroom floor, the main floor of his room and also in his bed which he was expected to get back into. I had to get a nurse to change his bedding and to ask for a cleaner to come and clean his room and bathroom properly. Nobody seemed to be aware of his condition from the previous day and after this was reported to the home manager, nothing has been said to my family about the findings and who was at fault for these disgraceful findings. No matter what is reported, and there are a lot of bad reports being made by my family and other families, there are no improvements or updates on the complaints being made. The whole situation with regard to this home is a disgrace. On the whole, my father is not being looked after even though the home is taking all the money from the council and my mother.
While we are not at liberty to discuss the personal details of any case. We can confirm that you have...
I cannot fault the love, respect, compassion, and attention shown to her during her time there, or the support offered to me and my family when the end finally came.
Thank you to all at Gainsborough House, especially the Renoir unit...you are unsung heroes and I am going to miss you.
Thank you for the wonderful 5-star review that you have given to Gainsborough House.
The team on Renoir will be delighted with this review and I am sure they will all miss you as well.
Thank you again.
I have found the care provided for my wife to obe excellent. The staff are very caring and compassionate and are a credit to the company.
My dad is so well looked after and cared for by the team at Gainsborough (Renoir) nothing is too much trouble. They are personable, caring and friendly. They create a lovely atmosphere on the floor for the residents and their own workplace. Great food, environment, we could not ask for any more for my dad. Thank you all the Renoir team.
We do pride ourselves on the care that is given to our residents.
Thank you for recognising the hard work that the kitchen staff also do.
My dad has been a resident for almost two years. Dad is very settled in Gainsborough House. He is cared for very well by the staff. There are many reasons why we are happy with Dad's care, amongst those reasons are how kind the staff are and how patient they are with Dad. The staff are a credit to Gainsborough House and many of the staff are the same staff that worked there when Dad first went in. They, therefore, know Dad really well and genuinely care for him in a kind and compassionate way. Thank you to all the staff for everything you do.
The manager and staff will be delighted with your comments. We are very proud that most of our staff have worked at Gainsborough House since we opened the home 11 years ago. The staff are very caring and passionate about the residents and as you have said, they are a credit to Gainsborough House.
Thank you again.
My mum constantly tells me how happy she is there and how kind and attentive the staff are to her. She loves food and is very happy in that regard. And she is very appreciative that the staff take the trouble to get her a daily paper and serve her a glass of wine with her evening meal. I'm sure this kind of personalised care is what helped her to settle in so quickly.
Knowing how happy she feels is incredibly reassuring to me to our whole family.
The manager and staff will be very pleased that your mum is very happy at Gainsborough House and is getting the little touches like a glass of wine and her daily paper. The kitchen staff will also be very pleased that your mum likes the food.
Thank you for recognising the hard work that the staff do.
Our experience of Gainsborough House has been very positive and overall very good for my father. The home is very good. My dad is getting all the adequate care he needs and I have no complaints! Thank you, Gainsborough House.
Thank you very much for your lovely review. We're delighted to hear that your experience has lived up to expectations. As a care facility, we are constantly looking at ways to improve the service we offer and we'd welcome some more feedback from you. With that in mind, we would like to invite you to call our Head of Admissions and Family Liaison to discuss in more detail.
Mum moved into the home in September and is happy. The environment is clean, friendly and mum's room is very spacious with her own bathroom. The staffing is good, lots of staff have been working at Gainsborough House for many years.
My husband has been at Gainsborough House for three years in March 2022. I couldn't wish for any better care than he gets, they are wonderful. They treat every resident with respect and management are always there to help. Thank you.
The manager and staff will be delighted that you are happy with the care your husband is receiving.
My husband became a resident after a month of respite in January 2021. Covid restrictions were in place but the staff made enormous efforts to keep us informed and window visits. The transition was sensitive and helpful. His complex needs are met fully, he's safe and well looked after. Staff support me hugely with calls and information. We're so happy he's at Gainsborough House.
The staff will be delighted that you have recognised the hard work that they do to make our residents comfortable and safe.
Thank you again.
Due to the closure of the care home my mother was in, we were relieved that she was offered a place at Gainsborough House. I was extremely grateful to the staff and management for their help in making the move a lot less stressful than it could have been.
