I have been happy with the care my father receives. He is treated with dignity and looked after well by the staff. I am particularly impressed with the efforts of the team responsible for entertainment and events arranged for the visit. I have found the nursing staff to be approachable, and efficient when I have asked for information.
Thank you for your lovely review. We will pass your comments onto our staff they will be delighted.
I am incredibly impressed with the care and attention that my Mum is receiving. The care staff and management are extremely thoughtful and caring. The home is extremely modern, serving wholesome and healthy food. The last few months have been very difficult and it has been comforting to know she is safe and secure. The home has also been supportive to my father, keeping in touch and making sure he is up to date with current restrictions on visiting. My one concern would be that the residents don't spend enough time outside or go on any trips (when this is possible again).
Thank you for your lovely review. We understand that it is a very difficult time at the moment for everyone and we are pleased that you find comfort in knowing that your loved one is in a safe place. Once restrictions are lifted and the weather changes we can start to use the garden and take our lovely residents out. Thank you.
My sister was treated well and with dignity especially as she was a challenging patient to handle with mental health problems as well as physical pathology. The staff were always polite and helpful and courteous and supportive in difficult circumstances (COVID-19 times). From the matron through to the cleaners all were brilliant.
Thank you for your lovely review. The staff will be delighted with your review.
In my opinion Gainsborough House is wonderful. They are truly caring of my husband. The staff have been caring with myself helping me through the difficult times of having a husband in a care home with dementia.
Thank you for your lovely review. Joanne the Home Manager and the staff will be delighted. Thank you.
I have to say that my mum receives the best care at Gainsborough House, I honestly don't think she would be with us today if she wasn't there. All the staff treat her with dignity and kindness and have her best interests at heart. They have worked so hard throughout this difficult time 2020. They know her well and treat her as though she was one of their family, it's so reassuring to me that I have peace of mind knowing when I am not able to be there that she is happy and taken care of.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review the team will be delighted. We are very happy that you can have peace of mind knowing that she is being cared for with dignity and respect. Thank you again.
The care provided is second to none, my husband is safe, treated with dignity, entertained and of course, his daily needs looked after to the highest standards. The staff go above and beyond in carrying out their duties. During this very trying time, they have not only kept the residents safe but kept the relatives informed with regular updates by phone, facetime etc. I am so grateful for all that they do for both my husband and my family and would highly recommend the service.
Thank you, Marian, for your lovely review, and we are very pleased you are so happy with the care your husband is receiving.
We couldn’t visit until the end because of Covid-19, but they rang every day to give us an update on how he was doing.
When they called us to come in at the end, they were incredibly supportive and understanding. They offered us two mattresses and blankets to sleep in the TV room, frequently brought in tea and biscuits for us, made us toast but most importantly they treated my father-in-law as though he was their father. They quickly arranged for him to have his end-of-life meds to keep him comfy, and they regularly checked on him to make sure his pain was controlled. They even came in to alter the bed position so he could breathe a little easier.
After the death, they offered sincere condolences and allowed us to come later to collect his belongings. What a wonderful place.
Father-in-Law.
My mum passed away earlier this year from old age and Alzheimer's. It has taken me until now to write a review relating to her time at Gainsborough House but I wanted to do this to say just how excellent the care was that she received. She lived on Matisse Wing for just over two years and she was really well looked after both physically and emotionally. The staff were so kind, patient and caring. This was in relation to my mum but also to the other people who lived there. It can't always have been easy - but the nurses and carers always encouraged and wanted the best for the people they were looking after. So gentle, so nice - I was so appreciative.
Thank you for your very kind words. The staff at Gainsborough House work very hard and will be delighted with your lovely review.
We were delighted to see how well Mum is looking and very impressed by Gainsborough House (we have seen quite a few care homes of late). The home is well-organised with a good selection of lounges. The staff are welcoming and helpful to visitors. They work hard to help distant relatives to stay in touch.
Many thanks Rob for sending in this kind review. I noted that you have not rated activities. I am sure the activities staff would be happy to share what activities your Mum has participated in so you are kept involved.
My dad is a resident at Gainsborough House and I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. The staff are excellent and the care they provide for my dad is exceptional. Having looked at a number of care homes, Gainsborough House stood out and has continued to impress since. We have complete peace of mind knowing that my dad is being well looked after.
The home is lovely, the staff are marvellous and all the residents are well looked after. I can’t praise Gainsborough House enough.
Gainsborough House was the first to offer for both to be able to share a room. From the receptionist who first offered us an appointment the next day, to the lady who showed us around when we arrived and to the manager who met us and listened and accommodated our wishes. All the staff couldn't have been more professional and friendly. They were able to assess both within 24 hours and move them in the next day into a double room. We now also have a room that will be used as a private lounge.
I can't thank them enough for thinking outside the box and making the transition for my in-laws so smooth.
My wife has been a resident for close to 4 years and in that time her principle carers and nurses have remained the same. This staff stability has undoubtedly helped her to integrate with all aspects of care and routine. There is a regular and varied programme of appropriate activities in which my wife is included whenever practical. Overall she is treated with respect and dignity.
An excellent place to be. If I do happen to go into said type of place I would go myself, if I did not at this time be prepared to do this myself, I would hope my family would put me in a place thus described.
Words cannot express how grateful we are for the care shown to our Mum in Gainsborough House. From the moment she arrived everyone has been caring, kind and supportive treating her with the utmost respect and dignity. Every member of staff cares about the wellbeing of every resident. This care home should be held as a shining example of how care homes should be run, how they have only got a good rating with CQC I have no idea, they should be rated as outstanding because they are. With heartfelt thanks to everyone for caring for my Mum like she is family.
Janice, it is an absolute pleasure caring for your Mum. Thank you for the kind words.
Staff are so attentive and friendly.
Food nicely served and very tasty.
Bedrooms totally adequate for his needs.
We would highly recommend Gainsborough House. 9 months ago my mum, in her mid 90's, with poor eyesight and profound hearing loss in addition to dementia, moved 350 miles from a care home which could not meet her needs. We doubted she would ever settle and have happily been proved wrong. Excellent management, caring staff and countless activities have improved Mum's quality of life beyond our expectations. Before she was isolated and spent a lot of time alone, now she welcomes company and has become part of the Gainsborough family. We enjoy the inclusive ethos where everyone has a care for other residents and their families. Mum is definitely in the best place.
Fiona, thank you for those kind words. I will make sure that the staff are informed. It is always lovely to hear positive comments.
The staff are extremely polite and helpful. My dad has been here for just over 2 years and I haven't had to say anything bad about the place.
The home is clean and well kept. Everybody is welcoming and always checked up on - how you have been.
An excellent care home.
Staff are great very caring. After 5 yrs I have every confidence in the home. Thank you to all staff.
The staff do more than just care for Mum, they are as interested and supportive of my father who is 84 and visiting for many hours every day, this is over and above any expectations I had.
Thank you to everyone from the reception, accounts, cleaning staff, carers, nurses, and manager, who are all very special people, thank you.
