They are approachable, always smiling, my Dad loves to come on respite here.
It is his second home here, he feels safe and relaxed.
The food is varied and presented well.
The building is clean and comfortable and has a nice area to sit out.
I attended the Summer fete a couple of weeks ago, to see my aunt.
I was so impressed with all the staff. They couldn't have been kinder. When we as a family moved her into Millbrook Care Centre we hoped she'd love the home. She does. She always comments on the manager and the activity person who has a lot of time for her.
I've now recommended the home to another family.
It is pleasant and always smells lovely and overall very very good. The only negative would be food selection. There could possibly be more selection both for mains and dessert.
Thank you for your review. We value all feedback as this helps us to improve on our service where required. The Millbrook follows the HC-One menus that are set for all homes, and we offer the same as all the other homes including our afternoon homemade lemon drizzle cake. The main menu has two...
Mum stayed for respite care and was very impressed by the standard of her room/facilities although we had to provide our own commode, chair raiser (mums mobility is very poor). She had great things to say about all but one of the staff. Food was excellent. However mum had a fall in the first couple of days and nobody informed family who visited daily. I was told mum would be walked daily, this didn't happen, she was therefore extremely stiff and found walking difficult once she was home due to being immobile for 11 days.
Thank you for sharing your details with us on carehome.co.uk after your Mother’s respite stay. We understand that the commode your Mother owned suited her needs more than the one we had available at the time. If you consider us again for respite care, we will endeavour to have one available in the...
My Mother was in Millbrook from March 2017 to November 2017, sadly passing away today. I can not praise the staff enough for their kind, caring and professional manner throughout the whole time she was there. They were always keen to inform me of updates, keen to talk to mum and us all the time and very very caring. A true pleasure to have witnessed such a good care home in operation. Thank you so much for all you did for mum and us.
This lady was polite and very friendly towards everyone.
Nothing was a problem for this lady and everything was completed with a smile.
I was very happy to see the residents being treated in a very good, professional manner.
Management and staff are all friendly and kind.
The care provided has made a noticeable difference. Having on site care is a clear improvement in health (fewer hospital visits) and mental well-being, less wandering etc.
I feel very fortunate to live here. The home is lovely and the staff care.
I like my room and food.
My mum is well looked after in a caring loving environment. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.
Excellent care each year for my mum. Workers and carers are wonderful and hard working. Mum loves the care, food and activities always provided. The manager is extremely helpful. Thank you.
Mums care from arriving on Millbrook Care Centre from the hospital has been wonderful. Unfortunately she soon became very poorly and the staff reacted with speed and compassion to ensure that everything she needed was in place. Outstanding care, outstanding staff. Thank you.
Simply being the best they can at all times. Highly recommended.
Care home has been taken over, since then a very large turnover of staff, lost it's family feel. No one except manager and one senior takes responsibility or aware of what has happened. e.g. my mum's hearing aids lost, 3 other hearing aids found in wash, so its not just a problem for me personally. I had to ask 5 days running for mum's wheelchair not found until I went to the manager. Cleaning over week sometimes, usually Saturday, does not happen - think it is a cut back. Many staff are very busy record keeping, could be shortened - need looking at, too much time spent on it.
We apologise for the fact that the feel of the home has deteriorated recently, and that the standards of cleaning and service has not been to our usual high standards. There has been a new manager at Millbrook from June 2015 who has been employed to raise the standards in the home; this cannot...
My wife and I came to the Millbrook Care Centre in October 2011 we settled in fairly quickly, I joined in most of the activities while my wife took things quietly. She died in 2014 and I was helped with all the funeral arrangements, after a short time I visited lots of pub/restaurants and wrote a guide book which came to the notice of the local paper, BBC radio and television and featured in all three. I've been compiling a weekly quiz for over a year and get on well with the staff and am happy here just a few niggles like not getting my bed changed often enough. I have complete freedom of movement and can go out whenever I want to, I have lots of interests to keep me occupied.
At Meridian we take every complaint or...
Having looked around at several homes for my mother before deciding on Millbrook the staff constantly confirm that my decision was the right one. Caring, considerate and make my mother feel at home and me pleased she is in good hands.
My mother has been in respite care for the last two weeks at Millbrook Care Centre. The experience to date has been amazing. The staff, management and support she has been given surpassed my expectation and more importantly my mum has flourished in the last two weeks. She looks better, brighter, and has made friends. Her mental health has improved as previously she was isolated and was suffering with psychotic symptoms and these seems to have been suppressed as she is now stimulated. Well done, I wish I had made the move to here previously.
Fantastic staff and fantastic very caring environment. We wanted the best for our mum and dad and we got it!
