Millbrook Care Centre

My mum came to Millbrook in September 2022. Although her stay was short, she was looked after with a lot of care and compassion. She made friends with her carers and had a good rapport with the district nurses. Sadly mum passed away in January 2023 aged 104.

The home is safe, clean and welcoming - we love it!

My father went into Millbrook in December 2022. My first impression on entering the building was one of total professionalism at all levels, the building was very clean, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My father has settled in very well; he is treated with respect and has been given a lot of love and understanding from everyone. I cannot praise the work and dedication of the staff enough. It has given both my father and the family real peace of mind.

They have also been supportive to me since mum's death. They deserve the recognition given.

Mother-in-law has been a resident for over 2 years and settled in well even though it was Covid. It's great that we can now visit more often. I enjoy dropping in on an afternoon when the carers are usually doing a general knowledge quiz (some of the answers can be quite entertaining). The beach party, when Red the donkey and the ice cream van visited was another good event. Staff are friendly and welcoming, it's good we can mix again and get involved. I certainly recommend this care home.

The staff have been extremely helpful in firstly finding a space for my mother in the facility and then once there, looking after her during the trial period she was in residence

My mum has been at Millbrook for nearly 18 months and throughout this time the care and love shown to my mum has been exceptional. The staff are always helpful, kind and professional, a difficult combination to get right, but they do. These last few weeks have been very hard for all concerned, residents and staff alike, so just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work and for caring so much for my mum.

Mum has only been a resident at Millbrook Care Centre for 2 months but the hard work and effort the staff put in to make her 100th birthday special was so impressive especially given the current restrictions. She had a wonderful day. The home is run efficiently and professionally and our family feel supported. Since moving in the staff have spent time with mum to understand her needs and to help her settle in.

We are very pleased with the way in which the staff have helped my father settle into this new experience in his life. The staff are caring, helpful, sensitive and responsive. He feels safe and well looked after. The staff listen to any concerns and address them. Current COVD restrictions clearly curtail the extent of activities.

I couldn't be more pleased with the care I have received. Every member of staff have been as helpful as possible, I have no complaints whatsoever.

Millbrook has a lovely atmosphere. It is relatively small and feels very homely. My mum is eating well and loves sitting in the garden with the other residents. I would recommend Millbrook Care and facilities.

My experience of Millbrook has been excellent. All the staff that I have met have been lovely and very helpful.

Mum's been here for just under two years now and always found first-rate care from all the staff, always helpful. Rooms are always clean and tidy. Overall, Mum is well looked after here and there seems to be enough activities for residents and Mum is very happy.

My stay at Millbrook Care Centre has been a very happy time. Everyone is so kind. Nothing is too much trouble. If I needed respite care again in the future I would be back in a flash and I would recommend this home to anyone to try it.

We also wish to pay tribute to the way staff continued their compassionate, caring role during the period of the Covid-19 virus, given the dangers, restrictions and difficult working conditions, a very stressful time for staff and their families alike.
