Newbridge House

My mother arrived at Newbridge in June this year after becoming ill and unable to care for herself. She had been very reluctant to live in a care home, so it is with immense relief and gratitude that I write this review. My mom looks well-fed, clean and cared for. The staff are excellent, very friendly and supportive of the whole family, they keep us fully informed. The home itself is very clean, and cheerful and offers a lot of activities for residents who wish to take part. On my last visit, my mom was more concerned with not missing her dinner, which she was looking forward to than me saying goodbye. She seems content, which is a credit to the home.

Mum moved to Newbridge as her Alzheimers was worsening. I have visited many care homes in this area, and as an ex-carer, I have a massive insight into what I am likely to find, and what's acceptable and inevitable. I have never seen a care home this good. The layout of the home means that the carers can always watch the residents, very special, and the staff are simply amazing. Since Mum moved in she finally smells clean, including her hair and her teeth are being cleaned. Extremely unusual in care homes. There is an activity program each morning and afternoon, singing, exercises, bingo etc. Full of energy and enthusiasm the ladies get everyone smiling and moving. Mum raves about the food, and she has gained some much-needed weight at last. As an ex-carer, I can't believe how lucky we were to find Newbridge. Also, the initial phone call with the manager was amazing as I was upset and stressed and she was full of information and advice. No other homes I visited even compared.

As a family, we cannot thank the team enough for the exceptional care given to our mum. Because of the expert help and care she had she is now able to return home, be independent and be even stronger physically and mentally than before. We will be forever grateful and we cannot recommend them enough. Every member of the team takes time to care for each of the residents treating them with the dignity and respect they deserve. Not sure how we are going to keep up the excellent menus and food options.

My mum went into respite for 10 days in June, so the family could have a break. She settled in well and thoroughly enjoyed her time there (especially the food) All the staff were lovely, very thoughtful, friendly and compassionate. If my mum needs to go to respite again I wouldn't hesitate her going to Newbridge House.

The home is very clean with no unpleasant odors. The food is good.

Our mom has resided at Newbridge House since June this year. I cannot thank the manager and all the staff here enough. They are sincere, caring, helpful and understand Mom's needs. She has settled in so well and I believe she now considers Newbridge House her home, which relieves the guilt and anxiety we all feel. Mom is always saying how lovely everyone is and that the meals are great. This is a cruel disease, but the service from everyone at Newbridge House helps no end. She loves the activities, especially when there's music involved, and she starts showing off her dancing skills. She is safe and secure.

Amazing care, have things to do every day for the residents. The staff are brilliant, respectful and caring, would give them 100%. My mum is so happy there and the place is so clean and they go above and beyond for the residents.

My Mother has been a resident here since March 2022. During this period the staff have been friendly, caring and supportive to her and the family whenever we visit. She is well-fed, has made friends and is comfortable in the environment. There is regular enrichment for residents and families are encouraged to participate in fundraising activities and fun days. We made the right choice for Mom when faced with the difficult decision that we could no longer care for her ourselves.

Aunt is happy and well looked after. I would thoroughly recommend Newbridge House.

Thank you for looking after my father so well. He was happy and cared for, and found everyone there to be always so positive, happy and very caring! He particularly loved the food! Knowing he was so well looked after gave us peace of mind and such reassurance- thank you to everyone at Newbridge House!

My mom has been a resident for over 18 months and it's been hard not having her living in her own home, but I know that although Mom has Alzheimer's and is getting quite frail that she is well cared for and safe. I have had relatives in other care homes which have frankly made me despair that these places are allowed to continue to keep their doors open at all. I have faith in the staff to tend to my mom's needs and keep her clean and well fed and I'm very happy to say she's a resident at Newbridge House Care Home.

Since my mom moved into Newbridge House I have felt so relaxed knowing she is receiving round the clock care and that she is with other people. The care staff are all amazing and absolutely lovely. They make me (and my dog!) feel so welcome when I go to visit. My mom is very happy there and has made friends. I would highly recommend.

My mother is not and to be fair never has been easy to please, but when I see how the professionals can make her happy and calm her down, it makes me feel quite humble. The atmosphere is always calm yet welcoming and my mother generally makes positive comments about the place to me.

What a fabulous place. My mother has vascular dementia. She was angry and frightened, but as soon as she moved into Newbridge House she felt safe, happy and she had a purpose in life. No longer were days looming in front of her. She very rarely uses her room, preferring to spend her time in the communal areas with all of the friends she has made. The staff are very caring and lovely and we experience this every time we visit. Nothing is too much trouble and my mother has told us that she can do anything she wants to. She no longer feels as though someone is stopping her from doing what she wants. She obviously can't do what she wants but she truly believes that she can. This demonstrates the care and attention shown by the staff. It was the best decision we made for her. She still comes out with us but is keen to get back to her home and friends. She is living her best life. Fabulous place, thank you.

My aunt has been a resident for nearly a year now and is living with advanced dementia. I can honestly say the staff have looked after her immensely and nothing is too much trouble. The home is always clean, well looked after and thoroughly maintained. I am kept up to date on all eventualities which may arise and I would have no hesitation to recommend the establishment to anyone.

We moved my mother-in-law into here in December 2022 and from day one she has felt safe and at home. We have absolutely no issues at all and we know we have made the right decision. All staff are friendly and polite, nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Newbridge House is a real home from home where mum is safe, cherished and well cared for. Her room is cosy and always spotlessly clean. The staff are unfailingly caring and compassionate. Mum is happy there and always speaks highly of how caring the staff are. As relatives, we are kept informed and always treated with friendliness. All in all, we couldn't wish for better. Thanks to all the staff for caring for mum so well.

A friendly place to live with a staff that is genuinely caring and compassionate. Residents are treated with the utmost respect and dignity and I love the individualism approach taken with all the residents - every person counts! A very warm and welcoming place always!

Mum had been in independent living but needed more care/assistance. All staff are very welcoming and friendly. They deal with all her needs as and when needed in a caring and respectful way, and keep her as mobile as possible. As a family, we are informed of any medical changes and well-being that may occur and answer any queries that we may have. She has a clean welcoming room, enjoys her meals and having a banter with carers. Importantly, Mum is happy.

It's lovely seeing my nan being treated like she's part of a family and seeing her interacting with staff and other residents. The home itself is spotless and you can tell staff are enthusiastic in their job and clearly enjoy it there, nan likes it enough to want to stay permanently
