The management and their team at Canterbury House have been truly amazing during the pandemic.
They have taken all the extra measures required during Covid in their stride and kept the home operating in what must have been very difficult and at times, stressful circumstances.

My mother is very happy there, which is a huge comfort. So thank you all!

My dad has been at Canterbury House for almost a year now and I have visited many times. I am very happy with the setting and the staff, who are all kind and dedicated and seem to genuinely care about the residents. We are still going through the COVID-19 pandemic as I write this and I wanted to highlight what an excellent job the manager, and all of her team have done throughout. The home is one of very few to remain virus-free which is testament in itself to the standards of hygiene and the great care that the staff take with everything they do. Residents have been kept safe but also entertained with many activities, the staff have also stepped in to fill the breach and become hairdressers, manicurists etc, and have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help everyone feel well and happy despite the isolation from friends and family. Thanks to you all for your care for our loved ones.

The management and staff of Canterbury House have been continuously diligent in their care and for the well-being of my Mum during this period of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, they have frequently communicated about the care and procedures that have been instituted to keep all of the residents and staff safe and well. We are especially grateful for their technical solutions for audio and visual communication with my Mum during this difficult time when actual visits are not possible.

Up until a year ago both my parents were residents in Canterbury House. Now, after my father's death, only my mother is there. I cannot recommend CH highly enough both for the care given to my father in the weeks and months before his death but also for the consideration given to my mother since then. All the staff are friendly, compassionate, understanding and professional. In the recent difficult circumstances they all need to be commended for the roles they have undertaken whether in leadership, guidance or support within the community of CH.

My husband has been living in Canterbury House for nearly a year now and he has been treated with care and kindness.
Even in these difficult times, when we can only keep in contact by phone, all the staff quickly take the handset to him so we can have a quick chat.

Thank you to the manager and all the staff for your love and patience.

I really cannot recommend Canterbury House highly enough. The building itself is fantastic with great facilities, lovely communal spaces and everything always immaculately clean. But it is all the staff that make this a superb care home. They are always so friendly and kind and caring and as my parents have both said: “there isn’t a single member of staff here who isn’t absolutely lovely”. I think that says it all.

The care provided by all the staff is exceptional. The management are approachable and run the home efficiently at all times. The environment is always clean, tidy and well maintained. The main reason for the positive feedback, for Canterbury House, is that without them our mother would not be as well and where she is today. Fantastic team.

Canterbury House is absolutely excellent. The staff are all so welcoming and attentive. They are all so caring to us and the rooms are very comfortable. The food is extremely enjoyable and we are very well looked after. TV's are provided in rooms, many comfortable sitting rooms. Entertainment is your wish to enjoy, it also has a little cinema. The gardens are also very well kept and nice to go out in. I would have no hesitation in recommending it. It is 100% and more.

From the moment I was shown around the home I was impressed. Staff are very welcoming. They know all the residents by name and do everything they can to help. I have no complaints in any areas of the home. My mother-in-law is very happy there. Food is lovely and if you happen to be there at meal times or snack times, you are included. They are taken out for days or pub lunches, there is something going on most mornings, afternoons and some evenings if you want to join in.

I have been a resident in Canterbury House for six happy years.
The beautiful swimming pool is especially important and good for me as I have had major back surgery recently and swimming is the best exercise.

A beautiful home in lovely surroundings.

My parents came to Canterbury House 3 years ago and at first were really happy. Things went downhill when they were first taken over. Lots of staff left. Since the new owner has taken over it is back to being a wonderful home. You have amazing staff from the top to the bottom. Please look after them. My parents were really happy, well looked after and I knew they had the best care, as did I.

I was impressed as soon as I arrived in the car park.

As I entered Canterbury House I was greeted by happy, welcoming staff who offered to show me to where my friend was sitting.

As I walked through the home I could hear staff and residents talking and laughing. The home had a great atmosphere and is very much a home from home.

I decided to stay for lunch and was offered a choice from the menu. The food was amazing, in fact, I would go as far as saying it’s outstanding.

All the staff are brilliant and would go above and beyond to help me and my friend.

Canterbury House is a beautiful care home and I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else.
