My mother has been a resident for a few years now, so Edgehill feels like a real home. In the beginning, she had few needs but now requires greater attention and care. The staff have provided this with smiles and have given both of us support at really trying times. For Mum; its a safe, friendly environment. For me; they give me reassurance and confidence my precious package (Mum) is being cared for and protected.
My mother was not the easiest user but the staff handled her excellently.
If we ever had any concerns, they were always dealt with satisfactorily. We could visit at any time, never restricted at any time.
Staff were always happy to accommodate.
From the 1st visit of Edgehill Care Home five years ago I was impressed by the welcome. Mum has deteriorated over the years since becoming a service user, but the care has always been sincere and full of empathy.
I am impressed that all carers speak to residents using the names rather than generic platitudes like deary and love.
Thank you.
Mother's care has been professional and appropriate and she was treated with dignity and sensitivity. To be assured of that has been very important to us considering her significantly declining memory and physical incapacity including macular degeneration when combined with the fact that we lived 2.5 hours drive away and unable to visit on a daily basis. The carers have been as friendly and as helpful as they could. All this has been particularly significant as she came to the last days of her life. Furthermore, the newly appointed office manager brought much-needed help and support during this difficult time. The whole approach to mother's care leading to the end of her life has been excellent and has been a source of comfort to us. Thank you to all at Edgehill Care Home.
I was sat across from a resident with one of the support workers. I just wanted to comment on how excellent she was treating the lady. She was engaged with the resident. Never once stopped talking to her. Kept her eyes on her and was laughing with the resident. It’s good to see that they are receiving the best care. I would happily send one off my relatives here for seeing just this.
Regards Manager.
In the whole time we were there we never heard a harsh voice or any unkindness in any way.
There appears to be sufficient staff so that no resident is ever left bewildered or without an arm around their shoulders for comfort.
During my time at Edgehill I was welcomed with gracious greetings and assisted within all duties to aid residents when help was needed. On behalf of the residents, some suggested the call time could be long, but through my own experience I can assure the demanding scenario sometimes called for prioritising and the manager was always happy to step in if help was needed (e.g. suggestions). The staff show key qualities required for working in such a profession, always brightening mine and the residents day. They demonstrated incredible care, meeting national framework and never let me down on any questions asked (e.g. knowing protocols). I visit the home regularly, maintaining my relationship with clients and ensuring they're healthy, which isn't much concern under Edgehill's care! Entertainment was varied and clients loved to join in, especially with singing. Glad I could be part of such an incredible experience, many thanks to the manager for allowing me to be involved.
Found staff very caring and helpful, willing to accommodate any request. They had good kitchen staff, plenty of good food. The residents mainly were happy and talkative, always had a good atmosphere.
Although an older type of care home, not all mod cons. Example shower and bath in residents room. I would not hesitate to recommend.
My mother's physical and mental state has improved beyond my expectations since she has been at Edgehill. She is more comfortable and relaxed than she has been for years. The rooms are clean, the food is good and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Given my mother's need for constant and fairly intensive care, I do not believe she could be in a better home.
The room is small but clean, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is very good as is the health care. As a result Mother's health has improved very considerably since she entered Edgehill, and she is relaxed and happy. She is not a gregarious person but enjoys spending time with relatives in the grounds or the conservatory, which is bright and restful. If we have any problems we discuss these with the management who respond quickly and effectively.
Mum has enjoyed the entertainment she has attended.
The staff are friendly and offer excellent advice when I have needed it.
Sometimes I feel staff are under pressure at weekends perhaps due to a lack of resource.
Staff friendly. Rooms small, shabby, dirty carpets in room. Had to take over laundry as 10 pairs of trousers plus other items disappeared. Clothes are still disappearing, even though family is doing the laundry. Response times to call the bell are very long at times. Entertainment is very poor.
We had a lovely get together for national care home day. Mum and I liked how all the staff mucked in to make the day special. We had a lovely time in the garden helped by the beautiful day with drinks, basket meals, ice cream, cupcakes and entertainment. There was also a big raffle. Lots of residents and their relatives and friends enjoyed a great time.
Thank you for your positive comments. It was great to see you and so many families come to join us on National Care Home Open Day. It made the day a real success.
Excellent care, fantastic staff.
We were really pleased to see so many families come to join us and enjoy time with their relatives.
Thank you for your positive comments about Edgehill and the team.
My mum has been coming to Edgehill Care Home for a few years for respite care and I cannot fault the care she has received. Mum has now stayed in the home and is hopefully going to stay permanently. The fact the staff stay working in the same home says volumes.
We are very committed to providing excellent care and support to the people in our care.
Mum is happy at the home (she would rather be at home of course). Thanks to the kitchen staff who prepare special meals for her due to diabetes etc I feel as her daughter supported by the staff.
Thank you for your positive comments Sue. It's nice to know families of the people in our care also feel supported.
Very good care at Edgehill Care Home, carers are very good and on the ball with medication. Open day was a very good idea and they looked after myself and my wife on the day.
It was lovely to see so many families come and join us for Care Home Open Day. The residents, families and staff all had a great day.
I believe Edge Hill to be a very good care home. We leave from visiting mum knowing she is very much looked after and definitely well fed. Everybody is warmly welcome, we join in the bingo every Wednesday. Mum looks forward to her hair done every week by a hairdresser. Its constant tea and biscuits, cakes etc. and tea time is amazing! Mum wanted a more cotton sheet and it was done for her, any request and they'll do their best. Most of the carers are lovely and very much enjoy their job. There are a couple too stern and it can take a while for the room buzzer to be answered at times, water not filled but I'd say she's in the best in town by far.
