Anchor’s Hatfield House in Hatfield near Doncaster is a purpose-built care home, providing quality care and facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. The home continues to welcome new residents.

Finished to a high standard and built with the care of its residents in mind, the home offers a wide range of facilities combined with the latest technology. Each room is single and has an en-suite wet room.

The home provides residential care which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life.

The care team works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure each individual’s health and care needs are continually met. Anchor provides dementia care and provides on-going training to care staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

Mum is so looked after. The girls are amazing and work their bums off. They all deserve a pay rise!

All staff are always friendly and welcoming and ready to help with any requests. The home has a nice atmosphere. My aunt enjoys the chats with her carers. Overall a very well run home.

I have found that since the current manager has been at Hatfield House the standards of care and communications have greatly improved. They always provide a caring environment with the staff continually providing regular updates on one's relatives even during the current pandemic.

My Mam has dementia. She still recognises us but she is very happy in Hatfield House. The staff are marvellous. My Mam (and the family) love them all for the care my Mam gets. I would definitely recommend the care to others thinking about either living there or having a loved one move in. The food looks
lovely so overall it is a 10/10 for me.

The staff at the home are all nice and approachable, they are always nice and cheerful. They can't do enough for the residents. Finally, the manager they have knows what she is doing and everything is going well.

I always praised Hatfield House for their care for my mum. However, when the COVID19 virus hit us all, the carers there came into their own. Times might have become tough and that just made me realise that the caring staff in there are tough too, there's the saying 'when the going gets tough, the tough
gets going' and that's so true in there. Their kindness, compassion and understanding know no boundaries. They truly understand my mum's dementia needs, treating her still as a person who has character, an individual and making her feel unique and interacting with her on a human level. I feel humble by their level of human kindness.

From the point of contact to Mum's care, I have had unlimited help and reassurance in finding a suitable home for my mum. All her needs are attended to just how Mum would like it. On the whole, Mum appears to receive very good care. Can I ask why do the staff always appear to be completing care plans and not interacting with the residents? Why are there appearingly limited activities at Hatfield House? Surely if residents have dementia wouldn't it be better for them to be doing
something, even if just for a short time rather than just sitting in a chair or in front of the TV?

We have a daily, weekly and monthly activity programme, which has been created with our residents’ input. However, we respect our resident’s preferences if they don’t wish to participate. The completion and updating of care plans is a regulatory requirement however our staff ensure they are interacting with our residents as much as possible.

My mother is a resident, suffering from dementia and Alzheimers. The care and support she has received over these hard times is second to none. The staff are amazing, caring and kind. In times like these, is good to know my mother is in safe hands receiving the best care possible.
