Harden Hall is a contemporary residential and dementia care home located in the heart of the community. Each of the 54 single bedrooms has an en-suite wet room.

The home is operated by Anchor and provides residential care, which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life.

The care team works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure each individual’s health and care needs are continually met. Anchor are specialists in dementia care and provide on-going training to care staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

Anchor reinvests the money made into their retirement properties and care homes, to continually raise standards to provide a high-quality service to surpass customer’s expectations.

My mother has been at Harden Hall since June 2018 and I am pleased to say I have always been happy with the care she has received but must comment on the excellent care she has received over the last 2 weeks when, unfortunately, she was put on end of life care package.
All the staff that were looking
after Mom in her last days could not have been more caring and loving to her, also I would like to thank them for their understanding to myself and our family in the days before she passed away.
Thank you all very much indeed you all deserve a medal for your care of Mom.

Mum came for a few weeks respite she settled quickly and has been comfortable. Her needs have changed whilst she was in the home due to her condition but we feel that they have tried to be proactive and active in helping her. The staff have been lovely and helpful especially team leader and carer we
feel that as well as looking after her they have looked out for her.

An extremely well run home where residents were treated with kindness and respect.
The building was maintained to a very high standard and the carers carried out their duties quietly and calmly.
Care was obviously taken in helping residents to dress and do their hair.
All this is due to a very efficient
but approachable manager.

Mom moved into Harden Hall in March 2018 and we were hopeful she would settle and enjoy living there. Within 3 days she had an 'unwitnessed fall' and broke her hip. There was also another occasion when she fell out of bed and suffered a head injury, within weeks of the first incident. She was hospitalised
in June due to a clot on her lung and at a subsequent assessment, the care home advised that they were refusing to take her back because they couldn't meet her needs, this despite a meeting just weeks before where plans were agreed to support her return to the care home. The family are devastated.

We were very sad to not be able to accept this lady back into our care, we assessed on two different occasions and were unable to meet her needs in our home following advice from the hospital. The staff cared for her very much and worked hard to regain her health so it was upsetting not to be able to have her move back home with us. I am so sorry for the distress this has caused you and your family.

Since my mom came to Harden Hall she has settled down quite well. She has had a few bad moments when things don't go right. All the staff carers and housekeeping really look after mom. If there is a problem at all the management and senior staff get it sorted. If mum needs a doctor or any change to
her medication the cares get it dealt with. The carers always contact me if there is a problem with mom, they always keep informed. They always make me and family welcome.

I enjoyed my stay very much and made lots of friends among both the patients and carers. I would like to see a few more games and activities as I found sitting in my armchair a bit boring. I found all the meals lovely.

It was an absolute pleasure to have you stay with us. Just to reassure you for the future, we are joining Anchor Active, a coaching course for activities. We have recently assigned two staff as wellbeing/activities champions to help us offer a wider variety and more frequent activities as well as help to develop our relationships with the local community. There is a daily activities calendar which is created using residents' ideas as well as occasional visiting entertainers/exercise classes.

I have found the staff, facilities and care 100%. This is our first respite and I have been very happy. I was able to go on holiday feeling relaxed, knowing Mum was in great care. Thank you all at Harden Hall.

I was very pleased with everything in the home. The staff and management were always there to listen to you and to help in any way if possible, and yes I would, and have, recommended the treatment. It was very good for my partner and I'm sure that the care and treatment will continue.

My mum has been in Harden Hall for 4 years (now passed away) and I can truly say that she has been looked after very well all the time she was in there, and the staff have been excellent at all times. I would have no hesitation in recommending Harden Hall to anyone, it is where I would want to go.

My mum has been in the above home since February 2017. Although sometimes she is quite shy, the staff always know how to handle her with compassion and kindness. There is one particular lady that all my family are extremely fond of. She is one of your carers and she is so professional in everything
that she does. She is very considerate at any time we drop in.
She is warm, friendly and extremely understanding. Well done Harden Hall for sourcing such lovely staff.

Following last years damning CQC report I along with most relatives have been closely monitoring the changes/improvements at Harden Hall and yes there have been some, but there's still a long way to go. The general atmosphere has improved and the staffing level has increased which can only be good.
My mother seems quite "content" most of the time, the food is good and overall I feel things are finally on the up but not before time.
The new manager seems to have matters well in hand and communicates with relatives.
