Dad has lived at Cherry Garth Care Home for over a year. We are very pleased with the care he receives, and we know he enjoys the food! The home is clean and comfortable with a calm atmosphere. There is a very nice garden. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. They have worked hard to ensure everyone's safety during the pandemic.

Cherry Garth continues to provide excellent care to my wife who has been a resident for nearly two and a half years. Despite all the challenges of Covid-19, the home's staff have been supportive, kind and caring, going the 'extra mile' to support my wife as her dementia worsens. I thoroughly recommend Cherry Garth.

Our mother came to Cherry Garth at the age of 94 and in failing health. From the beginning, she was cared for with great kindness, consideration, affection and professionalism. Her personal care was of the highest order and she was always made to feel comfortable and valued. The family made frequent visits to her and again were always made to feel welcome and it is thanks to the staff, that we were allowed to be with her when she died. We will always be grateful for the way in which our dear mother was cared for with so much dignity and compassion.

My mother has been living at Cherry Garth since September. I cannot thank the management team and staff enough for the care given to Mum. All of the staff are professional, interested in each resident and very caring. My mother's health and wellbeing have improved so much since she moved into Cherry Garth. All of the staff are so friendly and you can see the residents respond to them. Well done Cherry Garth.

In the last month of my mother's journey with dementia, she was well cared for. The staff who looked after her showed compassion and spent time with her. They treated her with dignity and did all they could to ensure she was eating/drinking. The staff on duty all knew her - some from when her journey started. When she slipped away peacefully, I could not fault their response and care shown to her and my family.

A fantastic care home run by managers and staff that care.
I have found that my father, who has dementia, is treated with respect and in a caring and friendly manner.

The home is well kept, clean and tidy and the gardens are wonderful, which is great as my father loves walking in the gardens.

Pleasant surroundings. Clean. My mother's room is large, light and airy. Staff cannot do enough for my mother and others. Bright and friendly staff even the cleaning staff.

My mother has settled in well, she can be difficult at times but my mother needs to be encouraged and coaxed which is working. She seems happy. Excellent and inspiring. Love it.

Attended meeting 29th October. Found very enlighting and informative and pleased to hear future plans. Together with target to achieve even higher standards. Particularly food and intention to get more interaction with guests to establish their history and encouragement to discuss their past.

I think it's a brilliant home. A lot of carers care and do their best. They are friendly, caring and very helpful with clients.

I think this is one of the best homes for teamwork and support.

Friendly atmosphere and very flexible visiting policy. Some great outings arranged, with a recent riverboat cruise and a visit to the zoo. Lots of activities seem to be happening, which is good. Most important thing is that mum gets the care and support she needs and I think this is happening, although my only question is the staff turnover - which seems to be high as always new faces - full respect to the staff as its a really tough job - especially within the dementia area on the first floor. As long as mum is happy though (and she says/implies that she is) then I am happy.

My father has been in this home (residential care) for a couple of weeks. He is already settled in and is happy. He says the staff are excellent, very kind and supportive.

Very pleasant surroundings. His room is a good size with en-suite loo and wet room.

I have found the management team very efficient, approachable and helpful. I am happy my father is being so well cared for.

Good points: Many of the carers are excellent, most are at least good. Middle management are generally helpful and responsive to concerns. Healthcare is very good. Cleaners are diligent and rooms are cleaned every day. Kitchen staff are responsive and helpful; particular dietary requirements are well catered for. The laundry service is generally acceptable although clothes do go missing at times. Overall I am more than satisfied with the care provided to my wife.
Less good: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning are very poorly designed. Air con does not reach public rooms, only bedrooms; rooms are often overheated. Room temperatures are not routinely checked, even in the hottest weather. I have drawn the attention of management to this on more than one occasion but very little has been done. Senior management is too desk-bound and not in evidence around the home.

This is not the fault of the management of the home as the fees are negotiated at a higher level within the group but the local authority who fund 40% of the rooms pay less than cost price. Consequently, privately funded residents are charged a great deal more so that the home is fully funded.

My father was admitted to Cherry Garth in late November 2017. He has settled in well and is always treated with kindness and respect by all the carers and management team.

I usually visit him two to three times a week and always find him well kept, clean and comfortable.

The staff and management always greet you with a warm welcome and are always helpful. As care homes go, my father could not be in a better place.

It's nice to know he is in a homely environment, safe and well cared for, when I am not able to be with him.
