Welcome to Meallmore’s purpose-built nursing home in Alloa.

Parklands' aim is to provide a welcoming and homely environment whilst delivering high-quality, professional, person-centred care and support, always inclusive of residents and their families.

The team follow strict infection control procedures in line with the latest public health guidance.

The home has a team of experienced registered nurses and care workers who provide personalised nursing care for older people, and those with dementia and other health conditions. Residents also have access to healthcare professionals, including GPs, Occupational & Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Podiatrists, Specialist Nursing Services and Community Mental Health Teams.

Parklands offers 62 fully furnished, ensuite bedrooms finished to a high standard, including large dual aspect deluxe rooms, as well as a spacious outdoors area.

The dedicated Activities Team like to keep residents active, offering a varied programme of activities that can be tailored to suit individual needs. The home is situated on good transport links and located near a number of shops. Residents are supported and encouraged to socialise and continue their hobbies both in the home and within the wider community.

The home has extensive communal space which is adaptable according to the needs and wishes of the resident group - this includes:

• Assistive technology to support the freedom of choice, dignity and care of residents
• Six lounge/dining areas to ensure residents can choose their preferred area to socialise, as well as enjoy professionally prepared nutritional meals
• Sunflower Café area for residents and visitors to chat and enjoy some refreshments
• Dedicated quiet spaces, along with a hairdressing/beauty salon

My brother and I chose Parklands mainly because of the good reviews we read on the website and following a quick visit to the home but, unfortunately, our experience for our dear mum was way below our expectations. There were problems with her medical care and visiting arrangements were onerous. She
had a fall and neither my brother or myself were informed. The phone was very rarely answered at weekends or at certain times of the day. In hindsight, we regret choosing Parklands for our dear mum.

Parklands Care Home is a fantastic care home, both my grandmother and great aunt came here at the start of the year. Although difficult for them both, they settled in well and the staff made them feel at home in their new residence.
The home is maintained to a high standard and the staff are wonderful.
Despite a global pandemic the staff have done their upmost best and went out of their way to be accommodating.
The care can not be faulted, I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to other families.

My partner is a resident in care and has been for two years suffering from dementia. Frail but keeping very well thanks to the hardworking care and nursing staff on call 24/7. She has a very nice ensuite bedroom, fully furnished and very well set up. I have a room visit two days a week from two till
three and afternoon tea is served at three but not for me, my time is up. A member of staff safely escorts me from the home.

My husband is very happy in his care home. He has settled well and that is due to the staff who have been extremely good. No problem is insurmountable. Staff are always cheerful. Manager keeps us all informed. Would not hesitate to recommend this home and staff to anyone.

Parklands Care Home is a lovely well run home. My mum has been in care here since January 2020 and has been treated with dignity and respect by all the staff. There are lots of events going on in the home that keep everyone's spirits up during this terrible time of Covid. My mum could not have been

Our mum has been in Parklands for 2 years and my brother and I are extremely happy with the care she's been given. The staff are very approachable and have sorted any issues (even though minor) very quickly and without fuss. We feel mum gets treated as an individual and with dignity.

I have visited Parklands in Alloa weekly since my friend moved there 18 months ago. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the staff so helpful. I knew my friend was safe and well cared for. She died a few weeks ago in her 96th year. During the last few weeks of her life, she could not have had better care
and was treated at all times with such dignity. Her friend there will miss her so much and I have been very impressed with the loving support the staff have given her. A credit to their work.

My mother moved to Parklands on 31st March. She is very happy and seems to be very well cared for.
The staff are kind and cheerful and patient when issues/queries arise management and staff are receptive and try to resolve. Parklands seem to be a good team.

I have always found the staff to be very professional, caring and friendly with my father. They really do seem to really like him and treat him with respect and dignity at all times. I have some comfort in knowing he is being so well looked after.

My brother moved into care several weeks ago after having spent about six months in hospital. When in hospital he became very depressed and was at times hallucinating and very distraught. On arrival at the care home at first, he was very unsettled. Over the past few weeks, the care he has received from
the staff has been amazing. He has completely changed, is settled and now enjoying himself and feels very safe and comfortable. All credit to the staff and the care home for the most improvement in his life.

The home has very good facilities. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The communal rooms are light and airy and there are a number for residents and guests to choose from. The nursing staff are very friendly and have a nice manner with residents from what we've observed.

My Mum has been in Parklands for four and a half years. I have had no qualms at all with regards to her nursing care. Charge Nurse management has been excellent as has been the carer, hotel management etc.
I am made to feel part of the decision-making process at all times and feel the link that the
staff have developed with me is crucial.

My mum has been in Parklands in Alloa for just over 1 year. I am sad when I leave after visiting her but I never worry because I know she is in the best place. She is very well looked after and the staff are brilliant with her and with us - her family.

I always hoped that we would find somewhere for dad that is caring and kind. Parklands is that and much more. From the first call with the manager to the interaction with all of the staff, the overriding impression is one of professional, kind, caring and compassionate staff who provide a calm, warm,
safe and happy environment for residents. I can't thank that team at Parklands enough so far for the care they are giving my dad and the support they are giving to us as a family. It is truly a wonderful place.

I am a carer for a homecare agency, I have been in my position for 23 years. I have now been going into Parklands for over 2 years, I feel my service user is well looked after by staff and management. She is comfortable and well fed. Personal care good, happy in environment. I feel staff and management
are very helpful if I need a hand with anything, to help support my time with my service user.

Diane Stone

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2023

I am the Home Manager at Parklands Care Home in Alloa, bringing over 25 years of healthcare experience, including 14 years in care home management. Originally from Hampshire, I began my career as an intensive care nurse after earning my degree in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Southampton in 2001.


After a decade in intensive care, I transitioned to care home nursing, where I found my passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Since moving to Scotland, I have worked across nursing homes, intensive care, learning disability support, and mental health care, before joining Meallmore’s Parklands Care Home as Deputy Manager in 2023.


Now as Home Manager, I am committed to ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care in a welcoming and supportive environment. I am proud to lead a fantastic team and be part of an organisation that truly values quality care, community, and continuous improvement.
