Welcome to Meallmore’s purpose-built nursing home in Alloa.

Parklands' aim is to provide a welcoming and homely environment whilst delivering high-quality, professional, person-centred care and support, always inclusive of residents and their families.

The team follow strict infection control procedures in line with the latest public health guidance.

The home has a team of experienced registered nurses and care workers who provide personalised nursing care for older people, and those with dementia and other health conditions. Residents also have access to healthcare professionals, including GPs, Occupational & Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Podiatrists, Specialist Nursing Services and Community Mental Health Teams.

Parklands offers 62 fully furnished, ensuite bedrooms finished to a high standard, including large dual aspect deluxe rooms, as well as a spacious outdoors area.

The dedicated Activities Team like to keep residents active, offering a varied programme of activities that can be tailored to suit individual needs. The home is situated on good transport links and located near a number of shops. Residents are supported and encouraged to socialise and continue their hobbies both in the home and within the wider community.

The home has extensive communal space which is adaptable according to the needs and wishes of the resident group - this includes:

• Assistive technology to support the freedom of choice, dignity and care of residents
• Six lounge/dining areas to ensure residents can choose their preferred area to socialise, as well as enjoy professionally prepared nutritional meals
• Sunflower Café area for residents and visitors to chat and enjoy some refreshments
• Dedicated quiet spaces, along with a hairdressing/beauty salon

My mum was a resident here since July last year. There are no words that I can say or write that will express how much I think of a wonder and high level of care that the whole team of staff gave my mum. She came alive when she moved there. I will shout till my voice goes, in praising them. I will not
think twice about recommending them to anyone looking for a place for a loved one.

My father has been supported by Parklands Care Home for some three years. The home is spotlessly clean, the staff caring and attentive and any response to issues we have raised have been prompt and efficient. The staff seem genuinely fond of the residents which is in my experience not always the case
in other services.

My darling husband has been in Parklands Care Home since March 2017. I visit every day and through my observation and interaction with staff, I have both admiration and the highest respect for all of them. They treat all the loved ones in their charge with dignity, respect and above all kindness. The
bedroom is always clean, his clothes are treated very respectfully. I would 100% recommend Parklands to anyone who is looking for excellence and the best of care.

I was welcomed by staff on arrival. All staff that I came across were pleasant and helpful. The home environment was warm, calming and relaxed. The areas of the that I accessed were furnished and decorated to a high standard. Staff and management very much approachable.

Since my mother entered Parklands Care Home in July 2015 I have always felt at ease with the care she was getting. The staff are very approachable and always answer any questions or concerns I have.


My mother is usually at ease with the staff in her room and in the lounges. The little trips out they

have are very good for the residents.

My mother-in-law went into Parklands in very poor health. We didn't expect her to live very long but she stayed there until recently when she passed away.


It was all down to the care she received. In our experience, Parklands is very friendly, welcoming you in on every visit.

Personal care is individualised to the needs of the resident.


Housekeeping, in general, is good - the carpet, deep recesses of chairs, tables etc could have a more thorough clean. This is completed but requires it being brought to their attention.


Activities still seem very limited - putting on

a film or radio is insufficient stimulation.


More engagement with local community groups/schools etc may generate more interesting visits, concerts etc.

My husband has Alzheimers and is being cared for with great sympathy and understanding of his condition. He is always treated with respect and every effort is made to make sure he is comfortable and content. There is a lovely, caring atmosphere in the lounges and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
I have every confidence that my husband is being well cared for.

I would thoroughly recommend Parklands to anyone looking to place their relative in a caring, professional and well-run environment.
The rooms are modern, clean and exceptionally well maintained and as a purpose built facility Parklands enjoys easily accessible lounges and dining rooms all on the
same level which is good for the residents to be able to be free to move around on their own.
Mum has always complimented the friendliness of the staff and she is relaxed knowing she has the privacy of her own room but help on hand should she need it.
Management is open and accessible which is really reassuring whenever you have a query and are always quick to respond.
We were recommended Parklands by a care professional and I'm pleased to report they were quite right!

Staff are wonderful and greet you with cheerfulness, they can't do enough for you. Most homes you go into there is usually a smell of urine but there is no smell here, it is very fresh and comforting. We come a fair distance to see my sister in law and it was lunch time when we came but the staff and
manager brought us in and made us a cup of tea and made us feel very welcome. The Parklands is close to a very high standard and my sister in law has everything she needs here.

After visiting 6 nursing home in the area, this was my first choice. On approach, the nursing home is very well maintained, especially the garden areas, which is important to my mother. The first impression was very good. I was made to feel welcome when I made my first enquiry. Staff very helpful and
genuine, the home itself is very well maintained, clean and well designed.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend this home.

Diane Stone

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2023

I am the Home Manager at Parklands Care Home in Alloa, bringing over 25 years of healthcare experience, including 14 years in care home management. Originally from Hampshire, I began my career as an intensive care nurse after earning my degree in Adult Health Nursing from the University of Southampton in 2001.


After a decade in intensive care, I transitioned to care home nursing, where I found my passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Since moving to Scotland, I have worked across nursing homes, intensive care, learning disability support, and mental health care, before joining Meallmore’s Parklands Care Home as Deputy Manager in 2023.


Now as Home Manager, I am committed to ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care in a welcoming and supportive environment. I am proud to lead a fantastic team and be part of an organisation that truly values quality care, community, and continuous improvement.
