Anchor’s Herries Lodge, in Sheffield, is a purpose-built home supporting up to 47 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle, as well as providing dementia care. The home continues to welcome new residents for respite stays and permanent care.

A contemporary and modern care home, Herries Lodge offers en suite wet rooms with a range of facilities including a hair salon and a bar area.

The care team get to know customers and work with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure customers' care plans meet their lifestyle requirements.

Meals are cooked fresh and from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients where possible by a highly trained Chef Manager and kitchen staff.

Herries Lodge is operated by Anchor which is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has 60 years of experience as a provider of services to older people.

Anchor reinvest the money made into their retirement properties and care homes, to continually raise standards to provide a high-quality service to surpass customer’s expectations.

My mother was a resident from August 2021 until her death on 3rd November 2023. Throughout this time, she was cared for with kindness and dignity. I was kept informed at all times and never had any cause for concern or worry about Mum's care. I think the staff are doing an excellent job at Herries Lodge.

Mum was in this care home for 7 months. This home is absolutely outstanding. I used to provide staff to care homes in the area so know what to look out for. This home is always exceptionally clean and well looked after. The residents are always well-presented, clean and looked after. Visitors are always
made welcome. Unfortunately Mum passed away on 28th October the staff were amazing. Couldn't do enough for us, however, even though for the last 24 hours Mum was unconscious the respect they showed her whenever they had to do anything was outstanding. Would have no hesitation in recommending Herries Lodge.

My mum was a resident Herries Lodge for over a year. she was extremely well looked after during this time and for the most part was very happy. She died in the home at the end of March and the staff were amazing. One of them sat with her after she died until I got there. They were kind and very considerate
to us when we arrived. I can and will recommend this home very highly.

Herries Lodge has definitely extended Mum's life by 12 months. She has been looked after by a dedicated and caring team of staff. The atmosphere at all times is one of love and care. I was always against putting my mum in care but with my husband being terminally ill at the time and my dad struggling, I didn't see any other option but from day one my mind was put at ease because the staff at this home are brilliant. My dad and I are really happy with the care my mum receives, everyone
goes above and beyond in the work they do here. We really were lucky there was space at Herries Lodge for my mum.

I came to stay at Herries Lodge with much apprehension and foreboding and was determined I wouldn't be staying longer than my two weeks respite. How wrong I was. I made my decision to stay here forever within the week. It's marvellous. The staff are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble.
I have no hesitation in recommending Herries Lodge to anyone.

Carers contact me regularly to update on resident. On visiting the home we can see that the resident is safe, clean and happy. The care home communicates with nominated family members regarding health & wellbeing. This standard of care is worth a fortune

My mother in law was welcomed warmly, always shown loving care and respect. The staff always had a smile and time to chat to her and us. The last year has not been easy for anyone, however Herries approached it in a professional but friendly manner. Always willing to go the extra mile for our family.
We are extremely grateful for their gentle and thoughtful care in the last days of our loved one. The staff make this a super care home.

A caring courteous and professional staff have made my mum's transition seamless. As a visitor I am always met with a smile and made to feel welcome.
Although I do feel more attention is needed in cleaning of Mums room and lift area. New carpets would help.

Since mum has been at Herries lodge I have been extremely impressed with all aspects of her care. The staff are helpful and professional and always happy to keep me updated and offer reassurance. My 93-year-old dad was only in Herries Lodge for 8 weeks before he sadly passed away but the care and support he received in his time there was amazing. The care staff were warm, friendly, approachable and made my dad feel happy, safe and settled.
In fact, the whole team were brilliant.
Herries staff
made me and my family welcome and always kept me informed on anything regarding my dad etc.
My family and I can thank them enough for the kindness they showed to my dad and to us.

I think the staff have done an amazing job during this last year of caring for my mum. It's been such a difficult year for everyone, and Mum has been looked after very well. Since her admission to Herries Lodge my friend has appeared very well cared for. Wearing clean and nicely laundered clothes that match and co-ordinate - her hair is well groomed and she talks favourably about the food which I have seen and looks fabulous. Her medical and physical needs have been addressed
and fully met and she appears well supported by friendly and accommodating staff. Emotionally it has been difficult for her but I am reassured by what I see that she is in the right place and receiving the best possible care.

My relative has been a resident at Herries Lodge for almost 4 years now and the care she is given is exemplary. The manager and her team of staff give outstanding care and our family are extremely grateful for the care they give to her. During lockdown I was still able to visit her outside her window

I can't praise or thank the staff of Herries Lodge enough. They are so kind, caring and helpful and do everything possible to make Mum feel at home. It also helps me as I know that she is well looked after and cared for 24 hours a day. I know that Covid-19 has made things more difficult but the staff
have done everything possible to enable me to keep seeing, or have contact with, Mum in a safe way.
