My nana is well looked after, she's always clean and dressed well. Her room is always kept clean and tidy she enjoys doing the activities that take place at the care home. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the fact that my Nan is safe is a piece of mind. Couldn't recommend the place enough.

During 2023 Mum-in-law had respite care at Herries Lodge and in difficult times for the family, it was decided that Mum would reside at Herries Lodge for her future well-being and care.
Since Mum's occupancy at the 'Lodge' to this day we cannot thank enough the Staff and Management for all the care, and dignity that they have given to Mum day by day.
Mum has had her ups and downs including a hospital stay during this time but the staff have shown care, thoughtfulness and help to Mum at all these times.
Speaking on behalf of the family, it was such a hard decision by us to place Mum into Residential Care, however with the understanding and help that we have had with the Herries Lodge Team it has helped in many ways for Mum's well-being.

Mum's care and dignity that she has at Herries Lodge is a compliment together with our gratitude to all the carers and management at the Herries Lodge.

I have found all members of staff lovely. Very caring to mum and other residents. Feels like home their home, not a residential home.
All staff have been helpful and very supportive to myself. As it was not an easy thing to go through but the staff and admin put my mind at ease in a very caring professional manner.
It feels like one big family with many different personalities.

The home is beautiful. Clean. Never smells of anything, modern colours and rooms are lovely.

My friend has been in the care of the wonderful people at Herries Lodge for over 2 years now. She has Alzheimer's. The care and love she receives here is exceptional and she is very settled. We are so grateful that she is safe and her days are happy.
The staff also cared for our Mother during an exceptionally difficult period of her life. She too had Alzheimer's. She was treated with respect, kindness and patience towards the end of her life. We do not know what we would have done without this facility and the wonderful staff who work there.
A special mention to the people who are part of the team.

Thanks so much.

Both my mum and dad are in Herries Lodge due to their dementia. When we were looking at the unthinkable task of my parents moving into care we visited several care homes in the north of Sheffield as it's the area that they have lived in all their adult lives. We chose Herries Lodge based on the fact that it's a place we felt we could live. The staff are very helpful and encourage residents, and relatives to help out or join in with day-to-day tasks or any and all activities and not just treat residents like old sick people, the main thing for us is that they treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve.

My mother was a resident from August 2021 until her death on 3rd November 2023. Throughout this time, she was cared for with kindness and dignity. I was kept informed at all times and never had any cause for concern or worry about Mum's care. I think the staff are doing an excellent job at Herries Lodge.

Mum was in this care home for 7 months. This home is absolutely outstanding. I used to provide staff to care homes in the area so know what to look out for. This home is always exceptionally clean and well looked after. The residents are always well-presented, clean and looked after. Visitors are always made welcome. Unfortunately Mum passed away on 28th October the staff were amazing. Couldn't do enough for us, however, even though for the last 24 hours Mum was unconscious the respect they showed her whenever they had to do anything was outstanding. Would have no hesitation in recommending Herries Lodge.

My mum was a resident Herries Lodge for over a year. she was extremely well looked after during this time and for the most part was very happy. She died in the home at the end of March and the staff were amazing. One of them sat with her after she died until I got there. They were kind and very considerate to us when we arrived. I can and will recommend this home very highly.

Herries Lodge has definitely extended Mum's life by 12 months. She has been looked after by a dedicated and caring team of staff. The atmosphere at all times is one of love and care. The team regard the Lodge as the resident's home, and this understanding is clearly set from the top. Mum could not have been looked after by a better team of staff.

I was always against putting my mum in care but with my husband being terminally ill at the time and my dad struggling, I didn't see any other option but from day one my mind was put at ease because the staff at this home are brilliant. My dad and I are really happy with the care my mum receives, everyone goes above and beyond in the work they do here. We really were lucky there was space at Herries Lodge for my mum.

I came to stay at Herries Lodge with much apprehension and foreboding and was determined I wouldn't be staying longer than my two weeks respite. How wrong I was. I made my decision to stay here forever within the week. It's marvellous. The staff are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. I have no hesitation in recommending Herries Lodge to anyone.

Carers contact me regularly to update on resident. On visiting the home we can see that the resident is safe, clean and happy. The care home communicates with nominated family members regarding health & wellbeing. This standard of care is worth a fortune

My mother in law was welcomed warmly, always shown loving care and respect. The staff always had a smile and time to chat to her and us. The last year has not been easy for anyone, however Herries approached it in a professional but friendly manner. Always willing to go the extra mile for our family. We are extremely grateful for their gentle and thoughtful care in the last days of our loved one. The staff make this a super care home.

A caring courteous and professional staff have made my mum's transition seamless. As a visitor I am always met with a smile and made to feel welcome.

Although I do feel more attention is needed in cleaning of Mums room and lift area. New carpets would help.

Reply from Sarah Burley, Home Manager at Herries Lodge

Thank you for taking the time to review Herries Lodge. We’re pleased you rate our care and support as excellent. Work has recently started on new carpets being fitted in all communal areas of the home and this should be completed shortly. All our residents rooms are cleaned daily and we will ensure that our housekeeping team continue to follow the enhanced cleaning schedules in place.

Since mum has been at Herries lodge I have been extremely impressed with all aspects of her care. The staff are helpful and professional and always happy to keep me updated and offer reassurance. Mum has, and continues to present staff with many challenges due to her continued deterioration, despite these challenges they have shown kindness respect and empathy towards her. I couldn’t be happier with her placement.

My 93-year-old dad was only in Herries Lodge for 8 weeks before he sadly passed away but the care and support he received in his time there was amazing. The care staff were warm, friendly, approachable and made my dad feel happy, safe and settled.
In fact, the whole team were brilliant.
Herries staff made me and my family welcome and always kept me informed on anything regarding my dad etc.

My family and I can thank them enough for the kindness they showed to my dad and to us.

I think the staff have done an amazing job during this last year of caring for my mum. It's been such a difficult year for everyone, and Mum has been looked after very well. This is a lovely home with lovely staff, and I know it's not been an easy year. It always feels welcoming and homely, I know Mum is in excellent hands.
