Since her admission to Herries Lodge my friend has appeared very well cared for. Wearing clean and nicely laundered clothes that match and co-ordinate - her hair is well groomed and she talks favourably about the food which I have seen and looks fabulous. Her medical and physical needs have been addressed and fully met and she appears well supported by friendly and accommodating staff. Emotionally it has been difficult for her but I am reassured by what I see that she is in the right place and receiving the best possible care.

I find that the care that my mum gets is good as she can be very awkward at doing things for herself. The staff are extremely helpful with everything you need to know.

My father has been a resident for just over two years. He has received excellent care over that time. I have found the staff very friendly, helpful and supportive. My father is a singular character and self-contained person and the staff have always helped him to maintain his independence as much as possible.

My relative has been a resident at Herries Lodge for almost 4 years now and the care she is given is exemplary. The manager and her team of staff give outstanding care and our family are extremely grateful for the care they give to her. During lockdown I was still able to visit her outside her window and can now enjoy indoor visits.

I can't praise or thank the staff of Herries Lodge enough. They are so kind, caring and helpful and do everything possible to make Mum feel at home. It also helps me as I know that she is well looked after and cared for 24 hours a day. I know that Covid-19 has made things more difficult but the staff have done everything possible to enable me to keep seeing, or have contact with, Mum in a safe way.

Herried Lodge care home must be one of the best homes in the area. I looked at several homes, and this one came top. You notice the cleanliness when you walk in. The care staff are excellent. They are so wonderful with the resident and treat them with respect. My mum called in her home until she died on 29th May 2020. I live 400 miles away, so this wasn't easy for me. Thankfully, I was kept informed if needed. Since 2016, the new manager at Herries Lodge care home needs to be complimented as you can feel it's a team effort to keep the home running smoothly.

Thank you to all staff, including the kitchen and cleaning.

Mother-in-law has been here for 8-months now, and she's still really happy. She's well looked after, given the freedom to roam within the building or keep to her room as she wishes. She loves her room, with shower and toilet and space for her things around her.

Many aspects of the care provided to my late mother at Herries Lodge were outstanding. Of particular note, is the kindness and understanding demonstrated by the care staff, who did their very best to meet my mother's needs in a dignified and respectful way. Staff worked particularly hard to help me maintain contact with my mother through the lockdown, using video calls. I would definitely recommend Herries Lodge for the provision of dementia care and for staff who show excellent professionalism and commitment.

Very approachable staff and management. Polite and supportive. As this has been lockdown time, I cannot make comments on activities, food and drink. Not sure what facilities actually means. Family members not allowed during mealtimes, therefore cannot see what the food is to make a judgment, sorry. The last time when allowed in, I wasn't very impressed with the thin shabby towels! Sorry. Thank you to all staff for your support and care of residents.

It's not really the facilities that define a good care home; it's the people. The facilities are fine here at Herries Lodge, but the staff are wonderful. The kindness and effort they showed my mum was tremendous. Trying to show kindness to very confused people consistently is difficult but the team here managed that every day. Thanks for showing my mum love and care and making her life so much better.

I consider our family to have been very fortunate to find Herries Lodge. My mum, who had advanced Alzheimer's, lived at Herries for 18 months and after a short period of adjustment was very happy there. She was cared for with dignity and love, she was happy every day. My dad (who visited every day) was made to feel welcome and part of the family, although he could be challenging himself sometimes. Due to poor mobility, my dad also went to live at Herries and the staff made him feel very welcome. Thank you for making a very difficult time a little easier.

The response over the last 5 months concerning the pandemic has been excellent with care, attention and the well-being of my mother being the most important consideration by all staff and management. Both hygiene and safety have been the most important and fulfilled throughout the period and is now on-going. Patience and understanding by all carers is always top of the list which means my mother remains happy, safe and content.

Herries Lodge was a Godsend after my parents were in an awful home. Herries helped me moved my parents into Herries hassle-free. The manager and all staff, especially four particular members, are beautiful, caring and professional carers. They made my fathers last months happy, comfortable and he was smiling a lot. Every time we saw him, he was happy. The cared for him with such dignity right until his passing. Now they care for my mum wonderfully. I am forever grateful.

My family could not have wished for better care. The carers were considerate, kind and cheerful. My wife always appeared to be cheerful whenever we visited and her face always lit up when carers approached her. The management was always sympathetic to our needs.

My mother was only in Herries Lodge for two months before she passed away but she was the happiest I've seen her in years, the care was outstanding. Everyone was so friendly and she settled in straight away. I would definitely recommend the home to anyone looking for one. All the carers got to know Mum and listened to her stories, which she loved telling to people, they always had time to listen and never rushed her for anything.

Herries Lodge provides an excellent level of care. My relative was very happy here for the almost six years she lived there. She often said how lovely the staff were and how much she liked the food. She loved the friendly atmosphere and had a good group of friends. I always found the staff to be very caring, particularly so in the last few months of her life when nothing was too much trouble. The standard of end of life care provided by the staff was exceptional.

Every time I visit, my grandfather is always smiling, looks happy and content and well dressed.

We no longer have to worry about him at home as we know he is safe and well looked after.

Grandad always says the staff are lovely and kind, and we ourselves have found them to be friendly and helpful and going out of their way for all residents.

The rooms are bright, spacious, clean and look like a hotel room!
