The home has a secure garden area, quiet lounges and a bar area for customers and their families to enjoy. Daily, weekly and monthly activities are arranged with resident input. Gentle Zest exercise is offered to support mobility and general wellbeing.
The home provides ongoing training in dementia care for its staff to ensure their approach reflects best practice for residents. Food is cooked freshly on site each day by the Chef Manager and team.

The overall care at Oak Tree Lodge is very good. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff and management are always willing to help and remedy any problems in a positive way, making me feel at ease leaving our loved ones in their professional care. The food is varied, well cooked and presented in an appetising way. The occupational activities are varied and interesting and the residents are always encouraged to join in. All in all, I feel at ease knowing that my mum is safe, happy and contented.

All the carers at Oak Tree Lodge are highly competent as Anchor insists on all its staff having continual training. They all seem highly skilled in the tasks they have to carry out. However, they deliver the care in a really personal way. They form very good relationships with all residents. They do everything they can to make life better for all the residents. My mother always felt safe in their care and I felt reassured. They worked miracles as my mother's physical and mental condition deteriorated. Their end of life care for my mother was second to none.

I am pleased to introduce myself as the registered Home Manager at Oak Tree Lodge care home. I have 14 years of experience of working in care homes. I began my career in care when I worked as an agency carer whilst studying Nursing at the University of Leeds. At the end of my second year of study, I was offered a permanent position by the company I had been working for.
After taking the decision to leave my nursing studies in 2011, I worked as a Senior Carer for five years. I then became Deputy Manager with Anchor in 2016 and was promoted to Home Manager a year later. I moved to Oak Tree Lodge last year and I am very proud to be Home Manager.
I am passionate about providing a high standard of care and treating our residents with respect and dignity. It is my responsibility to ensure that resident’s individual needs are met from the start of the pre-assessment to admission. I look at a dedicated team who have the relevant training to be responsible for ensuring each resident is looked after with care and compassion.
