My father came to Oak Tree Lodge for respite care, during his time, in just one week his appetite returned. He was more alert, more talkative, he looked more his old self and was asking how family members were by name, which he hasn't done for many months. He has already asked if he is going back. This is something I will be looking into going forward.

I visited Oak Tree Lodge to meet the staff and look around the home in view to my mother staying there.

The manager and assistant manager were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The home was warm, nicely decorated and felt like a happy place. Consequently, I have arranged for mum to move in.

My mother has vascular dementia and has been in care in Oak Tree Lodge for quite some time now, she settled in very well 'immediately' and I knew straight away that this home was the right place for her. She is very well cared for by hard-working and very caring staff, which I have to say have a lot to put up with. It does take a special breed of person to do this work, for which I will always be eternally grateful. 'Bless you all'.

Mam went in for 2 weeks respite and from the home visit to her stay the staff were extremely friendly while maintaining a high level of professionalism that made Mam feel well at ease, along with ourselves. We went on holiday feeling a little concerned for Mam being in a strange place but having called the home and spoken to Mam all our concerns were eliminated. When we picked Mam up she was in great spirits and was kissing and hugging everyone as we left. In the car a song by Doris Day came on the radio and to our surprise she started singing along, something we cannot remember her doing. As Mams need for extra care increases we will be seriously looking to book a place for Mam in this home.

A big thank you from all the family.

My mum was a resident for one week to give respite to my sister.
The home is spotless with great amenities (even cinema room and bar).
The staff are fantastic - nothing was any trouble and they endeavour to make sure all the residents are looked after day and night.

My mother would definitely choose this home if necessary in the future.

My mum is a resident and loves it. The staff are so friendly and she has made many friends. Her room is very nice and a great size with an en-suite toilet. The staff go out of their way to make the residents feel like a family.

My dad moved into Oak Tree lodge 6 months ago. From the very first day staff were welcoming, friendly and very kind.

I feel very at home when I visit Dad and I know he has settled at Oak Tree Lodge. Staff have supported me when I have been anxious about Dad and his ever-changing needs.

This was the first visit but we were impressed with the happy atmosphere and the friendly staff who engaged easily and happily with the residents and visitors alike. The staff mostly were 'fun' people which was a joy to see.

My mum was a resident at Oak Tree Lodge.
The staff were wonderful and dedicated.
I cannot praise them enough.
I visited a few homes and from the minute I walked into Oak Tree (without an appointment) nothing was too much trouble and I have always been made to feel welcome.
The rooms are very clean, light and airy and there is a 'homely' atmosphere.
Medical care was well provided which was a comfort to me.
Mum wanted for nothing and was well cared for which was the priority.

Staff were always on hand and happy to discuss ongoing care.

My friend has just moved from Oak Tree Lodge to a care home where she can have twenty four hour care. Her stay with Oaktree was enjoyable and she misses them dearly and talks about how well she was cared for. Her thanks go especially to the team leader and all the carers.

Many thanks.

A very pleasant and friendly care home. All staff are helpful and courteous and treat residents with dignity. Food and cleanliness excellent.

The care home feels like walking into a 5-star hotel. The care home keeps you informed with any problems which are always sorted out. Doctors and nurses are always available at short notice. I would recommend Oak Tree Lodge to everyone who needed care.

What wonderful caring staff today as always!! My father who is 91 celebrated his 73rd Wedding Anniversary on 7th February. Oak Tree Lodge provided a room with teas/coffees for guests who the family had asked to join my father and his wife to share in a special afternoon. The chef was so kind to bake a fabulous chocolate cake with candles to blow out - not 73 - that would have caused a big problem - potentially. The event was enjoyed by all and there was a plethora of flowers, too many for mum to take home. We are all so very thankful for all the help given.

The overall care at Oak Tree Lodge is very good. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff and management are always willing to help and remedy any problems in a positive way, making me feel at ease leaving our loved ones in their professional care. The food is varied, well cooked and presented in an appetising way. The occupational activities are varied and interesting and the residents are always encouraged to join in. All in all, I feel at ease knowing that my mum is safe, happy and contented.

I am pleased to introduce myself as the registered Home Manager at Oak Tree Lodge care home. I have 14 years of experience of working in care homes. I began my career in care when I worked as an agency carer whilst studying Nursing at the University of Leeds. At the end of my second year of study, I was offered a permanent position by the company I had been working for.

After taking the decision to leave my nursing studies in 2011, I worked as a Senior Carer for five years. I then became Deputy Manager with Anchor in 2016 and was promoted to Home Manager a year later. I moved to Oak Tree Lodge last year and I am very proud to be Home Manager.

I am passionate about providing a high standard of care and treating our residents with respect and dignity. It is my responsibility to ensure that resident’s individual needs are met from the start of the pre-assessment to admission. I look at a dedicated team who have the relevant training to be responsible for ensuring each resident is looked after with care and compassion.
