Felbury House Residential Care Home has a family history of over 40 years in running care homes.

They run the home how they would want to live in it and they want you to live here in the same way that you would live in your own home.

70% of the staff have been with Felbury for 5+ years and all are trained to support and encourage independence and dignity at all times. All staff are encouraged to train vocationally and most hold NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health & Social Care as a minimum. However, kindness cannot be taught and this is the core skill they look for when recruiting.

Felbury House Residential Care Home is a luxury 2012 development, designed to suit comfortable daily living for those with care needs. Spacious suites with kitchens and studio apartments are available for long-term residential needs and also for temporary respite (when available), with the scenic surroundings of the picturesque Surrey hills and looking across to Leith Hill - in the stunning village of Holmbury St Mary where they actively support the local church, school and surrounding pubs and small businesses - an ideal location for individuals to achieve a balance of life with care and still involved in community.

Felbury House remained a covid-free home throughout the pandemic due to innovative measures taken and diligent infection control standards.

Personal care needs are met individually based on meeting with you and having an informal chat.

Felbury House is the perfect match for my parents. They have a wonderful, bright and airy couples room that they have been allowed to fill with many pieces of their furniture and possessions, making it both homely and familiar. Both parents have different needs that are fully catered for. Many in-house
activities bring a meaning to their day and monthly outings bring a can-do sense of confidence and enjoyment to their lives. The food is cooked on the premises and my mother compares it to her own cooking, which is very high praise. The staff are amazing, always caring, attentive and smiling. Many thanks for the care and attention that is given to my parents.

My mother and father in-law have been residents at Felbury for almost a year now and made to feel very welcome. The home provided a specialist bed and equipment for my father in law very quickly which helped him settle in comfortably
The staff are all really friendly and approachable, plus the food
is very good.
They lay on a wide variety of activities and day trips out of which my wife and I have gone along to help and support (no obligation) and all the residents had a great time and well looked after.
We went along to the Christmas social and it was very encouraging to see the owner presenting staff with long service awards, who all seem to enjoy their work. Something I feel is a good sign that staff want to stay, a difficult thing to achieve these days.

My mother has been in the home for three years. She has a nice ground floor room looking onto a small garden. The home is clean and because it is fairly small, everyone knows each other. Staff are long serving and provide good care. The care home managers are really caring and take a pride in their
job.

Thank you for your kind review, yes we are very proud of our excellent team and managers, I look forward to sharing your feedback. The rooms with their own gardens are really popular and we love seeing residents (and their families) making those small gardens individual. Thank you for your ongoing support!

We are delighted with Felbury House, it really is a wonderful place for my father to be.
We spent a long time trying to find this special combination of culture, genuine care and environment. Very few places were able to match this. It just has a real homely feel. My father is extremely happy at
Felbury, the team provide the upmost care and attention enabling him to enjoy his senior years. He has a lovely suite, which was freshly decorated, and lots of space to enjoy. The dedicated team keep me informed of my fathers condition and are there to channel all types of help when needed. My father is very grateful for the team's support at Felbury and everything they do for him. Thank you!
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeDear Matt,
Thank you for your very kind words which I know our team will really appreciate as they try hard to make it feel like home and always remembering we are working in their home not them living in our work-place! We immediately felt a warm welcome on becoming part of The Felbury House Care Home family . Everyone is welcome to come to visit.
The home & it's residents rooms are clean , bright & comfortable. The conservatory , library , courtyard - filled with flowers & a fountain in the summer all
add to the homely feeling of Felbury House .
The care & pride the staff take in their jobs is obvious - they are courteous, fun loving , hard working & conscientious, making for a calm , happy , safe atmosphere. Management are approachable & try to deal with any problem efficiently.
The activities are engaging & varied . Music , Church visits, keep fit , crafts to name but a few & there is plenty of opportunity to join the trips out on the mini bus , with family welcome , making for special memories & shared experiences.
The Summer & Christmas parties are real lively family affairs , with all ages together enjoying food, music & dancing .
The freshly cooked food always smells & tastes really appetising

My Aunt has had a very difficult time since the death of her husband and I can't thank the staff enough. The care they have provided has been exceptional. The food is excellent and they have regular events and entertainment for the residents and I'm sure this has helped. I would definitely recommend
Felbury to any family in a similar situation.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeDear John
Thank you for your kind words. Your aunt couldn't have arrived with us in more difficult circumstances, from hospital, facing the funeral of her beloved husband. It is therefore that I am so pleased and proud of how far she has come this year since her arrival. She is always engaged in activities and always with a smile and good natured chat. We are so pleased she decided to stay with us!

My grandparents have spent the past year at Felbruy House and the support they have received has been wonderful. They were encouraged to make their shared bedroom as homely as possible, bringing as many items from their home as they'd like. My Grandma is always raving about how wonderful the food is.
There are weekly day trips organised as well as special events run at the home which the whole family have been able to get involved in. Thank you to all the staff for making their time so relaxing and happy.

Since my parents moved in (the home worked very hard to ensure my dad was released from hospital to join mum), we have always found Felbury to be a friendly and welcoming new home for them both. There have been challenges along the way, but they have always been met with approachability, kindness
and a willingness to help us over come them. Felbury is a welcoming and homely environment to live in. All their grandchildren, great grandchildren and all the family dogs (and there are many!), are all warmly welcomed when they come to visit. Our parents enjoy the interaction with the staff and try to participate in the varied trips and activities that Felbury offers them. Our parents really appreciate all the homemade delicious meals they have daily with the varied dishes. We feel very happy and reassured knowing our parents are well looked after.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you for your kind review. We are so glad your parents decided to make Felbury House their home. My Mum has been a full time resident at Felbury for over four years. Since the beginning Mum has been exceptionally well cared for 24 hours of the day. The home is exactly that ' her home' and Mum speaks about it as such and enjoys being there, in her own words, "she feels very fortunate to be living
there", Felbury provides a friendly, caring and comfortable environment. The dining room, conservatory and lounge areas are cozy and welcoming and the outside garden and courtyard, centred round a fountain is a pretty place to sit in the warmer months and is popular with the residents. Mum is equally loved and respected by the amazing staff and it's clearly visible how they all work together and support each other to give the residents the best experience they can. I am kept well informed of any issues concerning Mum's health or general wellbeing and both Mum and I are always treated with consideration and compassion, no decisions are made without discussions and our consent.

My mum stayed at Felbury House for a few months' recuperation after a hospital stay. I really can't fault anything about her stay. Felbury is in a lovely location in the Surrey Hills, the home is tidy and welcoming with good communal facilities for the residents. The staff were kind and patient, the
food always seemed good, and the managers were always responsive via email and phone whenever I needed to get in touch. I'm pleased to say mum's ready to go home now but Felbury will be top of the list if she ever needs care in the future.

Felbury House Residential Care Home really feels like home from home, and the food always smells amazing! The staff are so approachable and it's easy to quickly build relationships with them which is so important as I feel relaxed when I visit and also know that I can ask them anything. The entertainment
programme is extensive and I know there are plenty of diverse activities for my nan to get involved in from boxercise to art classes! In the summer, they organised a Mexican themed party and it was so much fun! From sombreros, margaritas, tacos and even a three piece mariachi band! Everyone was invited and welcome and we laughter and sang our hearts out. We have made so many good memories already and the whole family are so grateful for everything the Felbury team do to make my nans life happier, safer and more enriched.

When we took mum into Felbury House Residential Care Home in March this year, she was very frail, within a week she had already put on a little weight and was looking much better. The staff are so caring to both mum and us as the family, nothing is too much trouble. The home is very clean, the doctor
comes in weekly, optician as needed. Lots of activities and trips. Really pleased we were able to get mum into such a lovely care home.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Felbury House since March 2024. Her care has been excellent, with regard to her medication regime, nutrition and social needs.
The home is always presented very well, the staff are professional but also very friendly and caring at the same time. Social gatherings
and outings are a regular feature for residents.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeDear Brian, thank you very much for your kind review. We are working hard to ensure that even after the first six months we continue to establish your mother-in-law's preferences and choices and ensure that she is happy with our care. It takes time to get to know a person as an individual and not just an "elderly person" who arrives with us and we make it our priority that she eventually feels that Felbury House is her home. My mum who had been in her own home with carers and myself was becoming more unable to cope. Felbury House was a lifesaver for both Mum and us. The carers are a wonderful bunch of people who are attentive, compassionate and caring. Felbury is like home from home with home-cooked food, bed and room made
and tidied each day, someone there to attend to any needs that arise and a GP visit each week if needed, giving peace of mind for us as a family knowing Mum is safe.

My mother, who passed away in mid-February 2024 aged 101, spent her last 18 months at Felbury House and benefitted from security, comfort and companionship and probably the happiest months of her later life.
My brother and I also benefitted from her transition to a care home especially a small one
where she wouldn't be overwhelmed and where staff were always so professional and caring, particularly in Mum's last days, and so welcoming to us as visitors.
Given her age, mobility and vulnerability, Mum had a private, ground floor room adjacent to the management team's office and within easy walking distance of the dining room and lounge area. Her room was always kept clean, well well-heated and provided everything she needed and the catering team quickly understood and met Mum's dietary preferences.
Felbury House has a calendar of on-and-off-site activities to meet all tastes and haircare and footcare appointments are regularly available.
A great care home in a lovely, country setting.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you so much for your kind review, which we will have pleasure in sharing with the team. It has also been a pleasure working with such a loving and supportive family, thank you for your continued support. Kindest regards.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
