Felbury House Residential Care Home has a family history of over 40 years in running care homes.

They run the home how they would want to live in it and they want you to live here in the same way that you would live in your own home.

70% of the staff have been with Felbury for 5+ years and all are trained to support and encourage independence and dignity at all times. All staff are encouraged to train vocationally and most hold NVQ/QCF level 2 in Health & Social Care as a minimum. However, kindness cannot be taught and this is the core skill they look for when recruiting.

Felbury House Residential Care Home is a luxury 2012 development, designed to suit comfortable daily living for those with care needs. Spacious suites with kitchens and studio apartments are available for long-term residential needs and also for temporary respite (when available), with the scenic surroundings of the picturesque Surrey hills and looking across to Leith Hill - in the stunning village of Holmbury St Mary where they actively support the local church, school and surrounding pubs and small businesses - an ideal location for individuals to achieve a balance of life with care and still involved in community.

Felbury House remained a covid-free home throughout the pandemic due to innovative measures taken and diligent infection control standards.

Personal care needs are met individually based on meeting with you and having an informal chat.

My stepfather was initially very reluctant to be moved into a care home but luckily found himself at Felbury where he was extremely well cared for. Lovely people, great location and much more personal than many other care options. I'm so glad we found Felbury and can't thank them enough for making his
last year of life a happy one.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words and feedback to the staff, which they really appreciate. We want to express our sincere gratitude for the wonderful care that Felbury House Residential Care Home provided to our mum during her stay between June 2022 and July 2023, the team provided exceptional care and support.
From the moment we first visited Felbury House, we were impressed by the warm
and welcoming atmosphere and the kindness and professionalism of the staff. Throughout Mum's stay, she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity and she was attended to with care and compassion. Knowing that she was in such capable and caring hands brought us peace of mind during a difficult period in our lives.
We were impressed by the level of communication and transparency that the team provided. We were kept informed about Mum's care plan and any changes that were made and we felt confident that she was in good hands at all times.
Overall, we cannot thank them enough for the wonderful care they provided to Mum and would absolutely recommend them.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeYour mum was a wonderful lady and so much fun to be with. I could guarantee whatever was going on, she was up for trying and doing everything: the exact spirit of who we love living at Felbury. Your mum was such a pivotal part of our Felbury family and is sorely missed by all.
A celebration of how life should be lived, she showed us all.
Thank you so much for allowing us to be part of her life.
Kindest regards,
Jo.

My mother has just spent 18 months in this lovely home. The house itself is very nice and comfortable. The rooms are lovely as are the communal areas and garden.
The biggest attribute of this home are the staff both management and carers. They are a truly lovely group of caring, kind and compassionate
people who looked after our mum with such dedication and show much love.
The food given to residents is all home cooked and the dining experience is excellent. The residents are always kept entertained with daily activities and often trips out.
I would thoroughly recommend this lovely home.

My brother was in Felbury House for six years and would have remained if his health had not deteriorated. Felbury is comfortable, home-from-home, with a peaceful and friendly atmosphere. My brother, bless him, is not the easiest of people to deal with, but everyone at Felbury was patient and understanding
of his needs.

My mother has Lewy Bodies Dementia and has been a resident of Felbury House since January 2022. She has settled in well and is extremely well looked after by the management and staff. She loves company and has enjoyed making friends with residents and carers. Felbury staff are all very professional
and kind. She has some favourites but I won’t reveal their identities! Felbury House is very different to most other homes I’ve visited; firstly the Surrey Hills location is stunning and secondly there is a genuine family feeling to the place. Whilst it’s not 100% perfect it’s not a bad place to live when you need constant care and supervision.

Felbury House Residential Care Home has made such a difference in our lives. My mother is safe and happy, and I don’t worry anymore. It’s a lovely home, just the right size, so the carers know all the residents and their families. I have great admiration for everyone working at Felbury House. They are
always cheerful and call both my mother and I by name, tell me any news or funny thing that happened. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and friendly care home for a loved one.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you for your lovely review! I note only a 4/5 for cleanliness, so if there is something which you would like to let me know, I would be keen to find out what we need to do to improve. Please feel free to email me directly or just let us know in the office, and we will make sure it is dealt with!
Thank you for your continued support of the home, it's been a tricky couple of years, but we are enjoying getting back to normal. I hope you will be joining us for our trip in September. (Please let me know if either date suits you - 22nd or 29th?).

Summer BBQ with residents and families, Mum's first BBQ at Felbury House Residential Care Home, all the staff put on a brilliant afternoon for the residents, plenty of excellent food. The staff worked really hard in the heat, and it went down really well. It was nice to meet the families of other residents
as we are all in the same situation. Special thanks as well for all the outings arranged by Felbury House, and Mum really looks forward to them and having time outside.

The home has provided my mother with a safe and homely environment. Staff seem rushed at times and could spend longer with residents in their rooms. The home always feels well staffed, and most are really caring and helpful.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeDear Annetta, thank you so much for your review. We have recently found that some of the workload was being delegated to certain members of our team and that the care work was not being shared equally: putting pressure on some. We have since started to rectify this issue and hope that your mum has noticed an improved experience. We are glad you see the home is well staffed and we work hard to ensure that we continue to maintain a very low turnover of care staff, which has been repeatedly reported across the industry sector as an issue over the past couple of years. Over 50% of our team has now been with us for five or more years!
Thank you for your continued support of our home, we are so fortunate to have loving, supportive family members to help us provide the best experience for our residents.

Dad has been in Felbury House Residential Care Home for 18 months, having arrived between lockdowns in the COVID pandemic. He had been finding life in his home of over 60 years increasingly difficult and had suffered a number of falls, so it is a great relief that he is being well looked after. Whilst
he still misses home, we are so grateful for the care he receives and everyone's help and patience. We appreciate the measures taken to ensure all residents remained safe and well during the pandemic, even though it was difficult for everyone. We look forward to the end of restrictions so that he can enjoy the full Felbury House experience. A big thank you to all the team!
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Director at Felbury House Residential Care HomeDear R T,
Many thanks for your kind review. Yes, we too are hoping to get back to normal and give your dad the full "Felbury Experience!". Making up for the lost time, we have already organised this year's trip to Buckingham Palace, and Littlehampton and various other events which we normally enjoy! In the meantime, we want to thank you and your family for supporting us during these difficult times and for your kind words about the team.

After my Father died in Nov 2020. Mum struggled to live at home with care and increasing Alzheimer's, so she went for a 'holiday' to Felbury for two weeks. When collecting her she had made a great friend and was sad to be leaving, so two weeks later we moved mum in permanently and she loves it. The
staff are always cheerful and have had a lot to deal with during the pandemic. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Dad joined Felbury House in November 2019. He had been living independently and was not happy about going into residential care, but a bad accident convinced us that he was becoming a danger to himself. He was made very welcome, and after a few months he settled into Felbury life - and then the pandemic
came. Lockdown was difficult for everyone, and the staff worked very hard to make things bearable for the residents, despite the restrictions that had to be put in place. We were kept informed at all times, and as soon as visiting was possible a cabin was installed in the garden to facilitate this, as well as iPads and computers to keep in touch with relatives. Rigorous adherence to safety measures meant that there were no cases of Covid in the Home. The staff at Felbury are friendly and caring and go out of their way to get to know each resident's likes and dislikes. They are professional and helpful and we always felt that Dad was being well looked after.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Director at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThanks so much for your kind words, yes you’re so right: it’s been a difficult year for us! But Residents like your dad helped us stay positive with their sunny attitude and keenness to do activities and fundraise etc. during lockdown. It was a team effort of us and you keeping everyone safe so thank you for your support. It was a pleasure to be part of your dad’s life.

Dad always spoke highly of the staff and the care that he received at Felbury House. It was a relief for me to always know that he was safe and well looked after especially after the eighteen months we have all endured. I must congratulate Felbury House on their handling of the pandemic, to come through
it with no cases really reflects well on the efforts of staff and management. I always knew that I could pick up the phone with however minor a concern and get a cheery response, no matter what time of the day or night, that in itself was very reassuring. Please convey my thanks and appreciation to your staff. I wish you success for the future.

My 99-year-old father moved into Felbury in September 2020. He has settled in very easily despite initial reservations, which was understandable, and this is due to the staff and management and their caring and approachable attitude, and he has nothing but praise for the staff. Management are readily
available to discuss any issues.
His room is clean and comfortable and importantly, kept warm. The surrounding grounds are well kept and he is looking forward to being able to sit outside when circumstances permit. Considering the difficulties caused by COVID, the home has managed the risks extremely well and kept it out of the home. Importantly the management keeps us informed regularly and frequently regarding changing circumstances and how they are managing them. A monthly newsletter keeps us informed of activities and events happening during the following month and considering the restrictive circumstances, it is apparent that every effort is being made despite the restrictions.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you for your kind review. We are proud we have managed to remain Covid free whilst managing the risk and making sure visitors could come to the home. Following our second dose of vaccine this week we look forward to reopening the home fully and welcoming you in with open arms! Thank you for your patience and support through this challenging year!

My father went to live at Felbury in September 2020. Due to Covid-19 my brother and I were only able to assess the home from the exterior but dad has settled in well despite Covid stopping regular visits. The staff are very helpful and obviously, the care and safety of the residents is paramount. This
is borne out by not having a single case of Covid in the home. Dad has complained about only one aspect of his care and that is he finds the food a bit bland but that is because he has burnt his tastebuds over the years with his fondness for spicy food. We helped dad move into his room which was very comfortable and contained everything he would need. We are looking forward to the time we can look around the rest of the home. Each month we are sent an itinerary of activities that will take place during the following month and are kept well informed of any news or updates.
Reply from Jo Kennedy, Partner at Felbury House Residential Care HomeThank you so much for your kind review. I am glad you mentioned your dad's fondness for spicy foods: he's not mentioned it to me, but we will now organise something for him. Pre-covid, we loved to take residents out to their favourite restaurants for something special: so I look forward to arranging a nice Indian meal for him very soon.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
