Dad lived for three years and mum for four years on the residential level in Parker Meadows. They were treated with care., kindness and friendship by the staff and I cannot thank them enough. I marked the room satisfactory only because the storage space was very limited with no set of draws.

Gracewell of Fareham is an excellent nursing home. It has a family atmosphere, the staff are very caring and treat the patients with dignity and ensure they are safe and secure. As a resident's wife, I experience these qualities and I would recommend this home to anyone.

The Covid restrictions have meant that this is only my third visit to my aunt's room in the past year. I have really missed her. I came into contact with four members of staff today. My words to describe their interaction with us today are; professionally, precise, efficient, an ease and willingness
to everyone and interact, and not least, a very genuine kindness. My aunt has an antisocial personality and dementia, all the staff allowed her to "be herself" and respect her wishes. She really likes living at Gracewell, and I am so very reassured by that. After her long scenarios of decline physically and mentally, I know that my husband and I have found the best possible care for her.

My brother and I are delighted with the quality of care offered at Gracewell. Despite all the challenges and limitations of the last year, Mum is clearly thriving in a supportive and respectful environment. We have felt that our family member has been well cared for and kept safe during these difficult times. The communication has been great and the options open to us to keep in contact well organised. Our family member is happy, made friends and speaks well of Gracewell. The grounds are always kept immaculate,
the staff friendly, helpful and don't mind phone calls checking in and give good updates. The moving-in process was positive, made easy and the family as a whole welcome.

Everyone has been excellent with the care of my mother and contacted me whenever she had a problem. The visiting pod has been organised well to help manage the issues caused by the current pandemic. Everything happening during the pandemic has been explained clearly.

My father's stay was very brief, 7 months, but during this time he was made to feel comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas activities and his birthday. The staff show great compassion and make a warm welcome on visiting, I would certainly recommend Gracewell to any people that I meet as a
suitable nursing home for an elderly person to spend their last days.

My mother has been at Gracewell for 18-months now, and I have to say, we (her family) are all so happy about her care. During this very hard time with the coronavirus, they have all been so kind and looked after her so well. I did manage to Facetime her, and she always tells me how kind all the staff
are. Seeing her for the first time recently, she looks well and happy. I have nothing but praise for all the staff.

During lockdown, obviously we have not been able to visit our relative, but we have been kept in touch and up to date each week with great photos and news snippets. This has made such a difference to the situation. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff and just thank god we chose Gracewell.

My Aunt went into Gracewell Fareham in February 2020 after a spell in hospital. We looked at several homes, but all had one or two things that we were not happy with. Finally, after a suggestion from the sister of the ward she was in we went to Gracewell. We were impressed by our reception and the professionalism
of the staff we met. After they reviewed my aunt, we agreed to her going there. We have never regretted that decision. She was welcomed, and her room beautifully prepared. All staff including domestic, nursing, catering, managers, maintenance and occupational have been perfect for her. She enjoys eating, and we cannot fault the food. The home also dealt with the Covod-19 outbreak speedily and as a result, have had no infections. They are easing visiting restrictions very gradually to ensure safety. We would like to thank all staff for their very hard work during this difficult time. At all times the home has maintained communication with us even though we could not visit.

The team on the nursing floor were excellent (and your admissions manager). My father went to Gracewell, initially for respite, but the stay was extended when lockdown began. Communications were very good, using video conference calls to keep us in touch during this time, as well as newsletters to family
showing events run for the residents. Sadly, my father succumbed to his Parkinson's condition before the lockdown ended, but we cannot thank the staff enough. They kept us in touch throughout and ensured we were part of any decision making. We were very pleased with Gracewell throughout.

Lukasz Mikolaj Irzabek

Job Title: General Manager

Before joining the team here, I was an acting commissioning manager. I have a level 5 NVQ in health and social care, as well as qualifications in leadership training. I have also completed the ROSPA level 3 train the trainer course in moving and handling.


Care UK’s values mirror my own, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to work here. It also has a reputation for providing high-quality, person-centred care. As an organisation, there is a strong focus on innovation and a genuine desire to ensure residents’ wellbeing. There is also excellent professional development for colleagues that want to pursue a career in care.


In my role, you need to have compassion and empathy. It is also important to have strong communication skills, patience and adaptability. As with any leadership role, you also need to be resilient and be committed to continuous development.


As a general manager, I am here to support colleagues and to ensure we give residents the very best personalised care, and that they are happy, comfortable and safe. Knowing we make a real difference to people’s lives makes me proud of what we do here. It is also fantastic to see colleagues excel and progress in their own careers.


I have been lucky enough to have many career highlights. Ones that stand out include being able to support homes achieve outstanding CQC ratings and commissioning luxury care homes. Achieving a 10/10 for a home on carehome.co.uk, was also another big highlight.


I have lots of interest outside of work, including science – particularly physics and biology. I like art, music and extreme sports which I balance out with meditation. My focus though is my family.
