Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge. Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible The extra £254.06 will be duducted from weekly fees once the FNC is approved.

We have moved here from Spain with no furniture but Gracewell willingly supplied quality emergency furniture until such time as we can purchase our own.
They have all gone 'the extra mile' in making our transition from living abroad to settling in here as painless and without doubt stress-free as possible.
We love it here.

We have two good friends in Gracewell. It is a wonderful home and the care is excellent. The staff are patient and caring. There are excellent activities for residents we have experience of quite a few nursing/care homes and most do not come up to scratch. Gracewell is expensive but I realise the staffing
costs must be high.

While I am generally satisfied with the facilities at Gracewell of Fareham and also the level of care provided by staff I do feel that there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to food. My mother who has dementia often complains about the food provided. I have also spoken to other residents,
several of whom have voiced similar opinions. Also, laundry leaves a lot to be desired.

Gracewell of Fareham is not what I expected a care home to be like. It is a modern, quiet and has a lovely setting with great facilities and staff. I feel happy that my mum is being looked after with the care she receives. I do not worry when I am at home and can sleep at night. Overall an excellent

There have been a lot of changes at this care home over the past few months with a complete change in the management team and appointment of new staff. The changes seem, in general, to be having a positive effect on the home. The carers, in the main, do seem to actually 'care' about their residents,
although we still have some concerns about staffing levels at times. Cleanliness of the home is usually fairly good, although some carpeting and furniture still needs some attention (still seem to be waiting for new carpeting although replaced in some areas). Food always good, with good choices. Father-in-law seems generally content.

Although my mother was only a resident at Gracewell of Fareham for a short period of time, the care she received before she passed away was exemplary. All of the staff that we met were kind and courteous and kept us fully informed in relation to my mother's condition. They treated my mother with respect
throughout, ensuring that she maintained her comfort, privacy and dignity.

My father has only been at Gracewell for a short period of time but we are pleased with the standard of care and the way the staff are treating my father with dignity and respect. He may have dementia but he is an adult and they treat him as such. We are pleased with all the facilities and care he has

The bungalow has been made homely with familiar furniture, pictures and ornaments. It is light bright and warm. The level flooring allows use of the 'zimmer' increasing independence indoors.
The move has been traumatic, after a lifetime of rural living, but has been eased with having the family pet
here and the support of friendly and helpful staff.
It is lovely to have meals provided and with the flexibility of dining with others, or, separately.
It is good to have the support of laundry, cleaning and maintenance services.
We enjoyed the evening 'sing-a-long' and the afternoon gardening activity. We appreciated participating in a church service.
We welcome the degree of independence retained within a secure environment, without feeling institutionalised and restricted to one room.
We miss a focal fireplace and fresh air, but are warm all the time.
We have family nearby to take us out to attractive local places, which compensates for the lack of a beautiful countryside view.

On whatever occasion I visit my friend at Gracewell, I am extremely impressed with the whole concept of the home. I hope it is there for me, in case of need, when I attain old age and can no longer take care of myself. It is lovely and the staff are very pleasant.

Lukasz Mikolaj

Lukasz Mikolaj Irzabek

Job Title: Home Manager

Before joining the team here, I was an acting commissioning manager. I have a level 5 NVQ in health and social care, as well as qualifications in leadership training. I have also completed the ROSPA Level 3 train-the-trainer course in moving and handling.


Care UK’s values mirror my own, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to work here. It also has a reputation for providing high-quality, person-centred care. As an organisation, there is a strong focus on innovation and a genuine desire to ensure residents’ wellbeing. There is also excellent professional development for colleagues who want to pursue a career in care.


In my role, you need to have compassion and empathy. It is also important to have strong communication skills, patience and adaptability. As with any leadership role, you also need to be resilient and be committed to continuous development.


As a home manager, I am here to support colleagues and to ensure we give residents the very best personalised care, and that they are happy, comfortable and safe. Knowing we make a real difference to people’s lives makes me proud of what we do here. It is also fantastic to see colleagues excel and progress in their own careers.


I have been lucky enough to have many career highlights. Ones that stand out include being able to support homes achieve outstanding CQC ratings and commissioning luxury care homes. Achieving a 10/10 for a home on carehome.co.uk was also another big highlight.


I have lots of interests outside of work, including science, particularly physics and biology. I like art, music and extreme sports, which I balance out with meditation. My focus though, is my family.
