Magdalen House Care Home opened in 2012 and is located in Hadleigh, Ipswich. The home provides residents with independent living with access fully furnished rooms and a small kitchenette.
Magdalen House Care Home was built on the old Hadleigh Bowls club which was one of the oldest bowls clubs in the country.
The home is able to provided assisted living accommodation on the second floor, each suite has it's own en-suite facilities, power points, phone points and Wi-Fi access.
Our fees cover everything except for 3rd party providers e.g. hairdresser, newspapers, chiropodists etc and there may be a small charge if we need to provide an escort for an appointment

They allowed us as a family to celebrate with him and made us all very welcome. This last Saturday, members of the family visited our aging parents to celebrate their wedding anniversary (73 years!) and our father's forthcoming 95th birthday (on the Sunday). In advance I had asked, Kirsty, Care Home Manager, whether there was somewhere we might be able to have a family lunch together; and was expecting that to be a table in the ground floor dining area. Imagine our surprise and delight when we were informed that provision had been made for us utilising the 3rd floor cinema room. Not only that, but the room and table had been decorated with Birthday and Anniversary bunting. This was all perfect for our use and on behalf of both resident parents and all the family I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kirsty and her staff in going out of your way to make the occasion special for them. Overall experience resoundingly positive. Staff lovely and very attentive to needs of residents, treating them with dignity and respect. Organised activities very good, in particular 'alpaca day' was quite extraordinary! For me it was quite emotional to see the positive effect that this had on many of the residents, in particular my own mother. When Mother's health took a turn for the worse, the immediate response was admirable. A few minor shortcomings, but when brought to attention of management these were effectively dealt with. I am very impressed with the enrichment activities my mother gets to enjoy at Magdalen House. The staff always treat her with dignity and a friendly, warm manner. She clearly feels settled and cared for and her hygiene and personal care is always very good.

She has been awarded a QCR level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People Services and during her previous appointments, she was awarded ‘Care Home Manager of the Year’ in which the judges described her as “fun, full of life, committed, knowledgeable and caring” and she saw the residents as an extension of my family.

Lesley joined the team at Magdalen House as a carer in 2013. Loving the fulfilling nature of her new career, she subsequently progressed to Senior then Deputy Manager, combining her care duties with operational and management responsibilities.
Away from her working life, she was a school governor when her children were growing up. Today, as a proud Grandma, she loves nothing more than spending precious time with her family.
