Overall Experience

My husband was admitted to Magdalen House on 2/1/17, the lead up to which was very worrying. However, the courteousness and efficiency of the staff was very reassuring and my husband has settled into this new situation extremely well. I am confident that he is well cared for and feel that the right choice was made.

Review from E D (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 March 2017 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My mother has been at this home since it opened. It has seen several changes of manager and ownership. On entering the home I was assured and had it in writing that when mums money ran out we would not be liable for "topping up" social service rates. When the latest people took over and when mum's money ran down to government minimum they asked us as family to "top up" her weekly/monthly money and they stated they had no record of a written letter. Fortunately, I did! We do not have to top up. Overall care has improved, carers seem "kinder" to my mum and more tolerant of her needs.
