Words cannot express my gratitude for the level of end-of-life care provided for my dad in his last few weeks with us. After being by his side for 12 hours a day for several weeks, it can be exhausting, particularly for older partners, and it makes a huge difference knowing your loved one is in safe hands while you try and grab some much-needed rest yourself.

Nice staff, good facility, well-organised. Our mother has been a resident there for some twelve months and is settled. The dialogue with the business manager and her team is very good and dental, haircutting and health needs well catered for.

I can only pay the highest compliment to all the staff at Buckingham Care Home. Mum very much enjoyed the activities and the friendliness of the staff whilst able to and her family appreciated the kindness and sincerity of management and all staff members looking after Mum so beautifully to the end. They also took the time to attend Mum's funeral which I thought was a very classy act. Thank you all at Buckingham for looking after my mum.

Overall Experience
I came to the home after a fall and being in hospital. I was very nervous about going into a home but as soon as I arrived the staff showed me around, took me to my room and made sure I was looked after on my first night.
Each day I grew in confidence about stopping at the home, the care and activities were fantastic. All staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them, yes they are busy but they come and let you know that they will come and get you sorted when they can.
The food cooked by the chef is varied and nice, the chef made a curry on one night especially for me and my family which is something I didn't expect but was a nice treat.
My room is big and I was given a portable TV as well which was a nice thing as I could watch tv in my room. I made new friends there and it is the first time in a long time that I have been able to laugh in company.

I have really enjoyed my time at the home and wish I could stop there all the time as I feel safe and looked after. Thank you.

My aunt was transferred to Buckingham Care Home on 15.12.24 - 12.01.25.
From the moment my aunt was admitted to the care home the staff and management were totally professional and caring. My first impressions of the home were one of a clean, tidy and spacious place for all the residents but especially for family visiting. The staff are all wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them, they all spend time sitting and talking with all the residents.
The Christmas activities were so welcoming for all the residents and families
The room my aunt was in was big and spacious, with a big shower/wet room. The home provided a portable TV for my aunt without asking, nothing was too much trouble for any of them.

Care homes do get bad press but I can truly say that Buckingham Care home is outstanding and my aunty has thrived and been stimulated whilst at the home. A big thank you to all the staff, including the chef, the activities team and management team for making her stay so positive.

I came here when I could not cope by myself in my retirement flat. My children visited the home and said they thought I would be very happy there. I came knowing it was up to me to adapt to the home but it has been, really, everything I could have possibly hoped for. The food is delicious and they will provide what you would like if none of the alternatives are available. The room is sufficiently and comfortably furnished. I have brought only one small chest from my old home. The staff are jolly and kind and let you do what you would like to do. I have had to adapt to the type of shower room provided but this has not been difficult. Despite my phased limitation, I do not take part in the activities as my sight is poor and I am very deaf.

On Friday the 13th of September my lovely wife peacefully passed away. She has been a resident since December 2021. In that time the care she received was first-class. I went to see her nearly every day and saw first-hand the fabulous way she was cared for. I could not have wished for a better home for my wife. The staff work as a team harmoniously and as a result, the quality of care is wonderful. I thank all the staff for the love and care that my wife received. I have become part of the care home family and visit frequently. Love to you all.

Wife completed two weeks of respite at Buckingham Care Home recently. The level of care was exceptional. She was treated with dignity and included and accommodated in group activities, despite her advanced stage of Alzheimer's, which was appreciated and welcomed. The personal care was also excellent and she received a shower and change of clothes daily. The freshly cooked meals always looked tasty and nutritional and the assistance with feeding was greatly appreciated. Will definitely return.

The care home is a friendly, welcoming place. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everyone has a smile, and residents are happy. The care provided to residents is first-class. The staff genuinely care. Excellent activities are provided most days to keep residents busy and entertained. The place was clean and beautifully appointed. However, there were very few respite and recovery patients and not much to do so I was left in my room most of the day with no encouragement to go out. There were mostly dementia patients so no opportunities to have conversations. I was able to have a shower every day. The care given was good and so was the food, when hot.

A very warm welcome, making Mum feel welcome and at ease, given this was a difficult decision for her. She was very happy and this made the family feel confident she was in good hands. The rooms were lovely, the only issue was perhaps no grab rails in the bathroom. Mum enjoyed the chair aerobics very much. The only thing is, it is expensive, when self-funded.

Overall Experience

My mother in law came to Buckingham originally for respite care in December 2021 and I remember the warm and caring welcome from the team and how they made Mum feel comfortable and supported from day one. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and it felt like a home as we could add little touches of personal items. The team are dedicated, empathetic, caring and genuine and quickly developed friendly relationships, being recognised and greeted every visit. Mum settled in well and we saw a huge change in her as she was surrounded by people who care, support, as well as building relationships with other residents in the community. I would highly recommend Buckingham to anyone looking for that extra special outstanding care. Knowing that Mum is safe and comfortable, especially having dementia, she needed 24-hour care. Mum is now a permanent resident and we are so thankful to have found a safe place for her to feel at home. Family and friends have the freedom to visit anytime.
