Since moving mother from a care home without a Dementia bias, her physical and mental facilities have improved enormously. I.E from a selfish viewpoint is to see mother in matching clothing, yes a silly thing but mother was always proud of her appearance, even though she may not be aware.
I now do
not worry about her safety. The staff I have met in the last two weeks have been 'on the ball' regarding care and have been very professional.

The staff at The Mayfields Care Home could not be more kind and helpful. We visit fairly regularly (twice a week) - staff are always thoughtful and all seem to know my father and what he likes to do, drink and eat. The activities are varied as most clients are women. They are sometimes a little too
geared towards women but lots of effort is made to encourage everybody.

My wife has now been in The Mayfields Care Home for two and half years. During that time, I have been very pleased with the care she has received both medical and social and well-being. Staff show an extraordinary degree of patience with all of the residents. Staff always make visitors most welcome
and have kept me up to date with general well-being.

I've always found The Mayfields Care Home staff to be unfailingly friendly and welcoming. They obviously care very much for my father and I always feel confident that he is very well looked after. The Mayfields Care Home is a very well designed facility. It is light and spacious with several different
communal areas to allow residents a choice. It always feels clean and well maintained. Our family feel very happy that dad is at the home - it is by far the best we have experienced.

My mother has been a resident at The Mayfields for 3 years. She is treated with kindness and respect, the staff know her and understand her preferences, even though she is no longer able to verbalise her needs.
They are always prepared to speak to me and address any concerns I may have, regarding my
mother or her care.

Very homely care home with professional staff who really do care and go the extra mile. They are kind and caring and nothing seems too much for them to do so I am pleased that my mother is in such a lovely place, to quote her words "I feel happy and safe here". As soon as you walk into The Mayfields
Care Home you feel a sense of belonging.

The care provided by The Mayfield Care Home is excellent. The care of my wife is excellent, I cannot fault it in any way. It is because the care is of such a high standard, that I am able to take short breaks without any worries regarding the way she is being cared for. The staff are very professional
and treat my wife with compassion, dignity and understanding.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.957) out of 10 for The Mayfields Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.982 for The Mayfields Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 227 Ratings = 4.982
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Mayfields Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
