The home is so friendly and all the staff are absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so caring to my mother who has Parkinson's. All other residents have made my mother very welcome and there are activities nearly every day for residents. I would recommend this home to anyone thinking of placing their loved

Arrived at St. John's frazzled and worn out looking for respite care for 87 year old husband who had been discharged from the hospital with cracked hip. Immediately felt in the hands of sympathetic and competent and caring staff (Kelly and Paul). Homely, delightful environment. Great lay out. my husband
benefitted enormously during his stay. Would not hesitate to return and recommend to others.

The experience with St. John's was excellent. As a large portion of my brother's family was in the USA and as such unable to visit, the home had to fill in for us which they did much better than we deserved. We were made to feel like we were part of the home family and we got great support while we
were there for his last days.
Staff members even attended his funeral which was heart warming.
Thankyou to everyone who was involved in his care.
Reply from Emma Bayne, General Manager at St John's HouseThank you for this touching review. My mum has been resident at The Mayfields for nearly 3 years now and we have found it to be a very caring place. It is very clean; the food is great; we are always made to feel welcome and there is a great programme of activities, plus the garden and courtyard are always lovely in the summer. I visit
very often, and at different time of the day and I always observe on high standard of care.

When my husband came to Lincoln House, he was lost and bewildered. He was soon made to feel welcomed by the many staff members and appears to have a happy and relaxed attitude around them. He has enjoyed the activities as best as possible, particularly the musical, all organised with so much energy

Living so far away is always a worry but I couldn't wish for better care of my Mum. Recently having to be seen by paramedics, and checked over in A&E, the staff at Highfield kept me constantly updated with phone calls. Mum also has some complicated dietary issues and Highfield do their best to meet
her needs. The home is always spotlessly clean and they arrange a variety of activities for residents. Overall, Mum is very well looked after. Thank you Highfield House.
Reply from Natalie Gray, Registered Manager at Highfield House Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely review Caron. We know how hard it can be to be far away from a loved one, so it really means a lot to hear that our communication and support have helped to give you peace of mind.

We're so pleased we were able to keep you closely updated during your mum's recent visit to A&E, and that you feel reassured about the care and attention she receives with us, including support around her dietary needs. We always do our very best to encourage the most suitable diet for her, while making sure she can still enjoy her meals. Your kind words about the cleanliness of the home and the range of activities we offer are truly appreciated by the whole team.

We moved our friend to Highfield's and could not be happier with the decision.
The staff take time to get to know their residents and adapt the care depending on their needs.
The staff always have time to stop and chat to everyone always saying hello to everyone during their working day.
The management
and staff are kind, attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
There is always entertainment and activities on for those who choose to join in and quiet spaces for those not so keen.
The home home is kept to a very high level of cleanliness and the food options are very good, always seems to be something for everyone.
I cannot recommend this home enough to anyone looking for somewhere to move to or to move a relative into. Nothing is too much trouble and it feels like a real home environment for everybody.
Thank you to everyone for the care and kindness shown

My mum lived at Highfield House for the final months of her life. During this time she was extremely well cared for. In fact I believe the staff went above and beyond in every aspect of her care.
At the end of her life the compassion shown to her was both heart warming and admirable.
She was kept
comfortable and given a truly dignified end to a long life.
Throughout her time at Highfield House I found responses to any questions or concerns I had immediate and effective.
I felt from my first visit that my mum was very safe here which afforded me great comfort.
The kindness and support shown to myself when my mum was in the last few hours of her life was truly remarkable and I shall never forget the good hearts and kind words of the staff.
Hard working conscientious kind management and staff make this place very special.
I will be forever grateful for the care they gave my dear mum.
Reply from Natalie Gray, Registered Manager at Highfield House Care HomeThank you so much for sharing such a deeply moving and beautiful tribute to your mum and to our team at Highfield House. Your kindness towards our team, especially during such a difficult and emotional time, is deeply appreciated. Supporting families as well as residents is a vital part of what we do, and it means so much to know that you felt cared for and supported too.

Mum has now bee;in St John's since May of this year. She had just turned 90. It was a massive wrench for her and very logistical for us with over 30 years of "stuff" to sort through. Mum's physical health was deteriorating even though she at the time didn't or didn't want to recognise this. From day
one until today there has always been the utmost constancy from each and every member of staff. How everyone remains cheerful and positive is beyond me. They are real angels. They must be. Mum has had rollercoaster emotions and health issues. Her respect has always been maintained. Paul, the care manager is one of the most outstanding individuals I have ever come across. Mum is treated royally, even when she does not deserve it. The environment is very comfortable and tasteful. The public areas are simply gorgeous. Mum questions some of the food but she is pescatarian and very fussy indeed so she has always questioned food wherever she has stayed. She enjoys a glass of wine most days. Fab.
Reply from Emma Bayne, General Manager at St John's HouseThank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We know how significant a transition this has been for your mum and your family, and were truly grateful for the trust youve placed in us. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to Paul and the rest of the staff, who will be delighted to know their efforts are appreciated. Were glad your mum feels respected, comfortable, and able to enjoy the things she loves mostincluding her daily glass of wine.

I began visiting St John's house as a student on placement for my college course, where I was welcomed with nothing but kindness and open arms and taught what I needed to know. I enjoyed my time so much, that at the end of my course, I asked to continue as a volunteer with the wellbeing team. As I still
visit, the variety of the activities, and the lengths gone to ensure residents experiences are positive continue to impress me.

I have nothing but praise for The Mayfields. My wife, who has early onset Alzheimer's, is well cared for and looked after. I feel that I made an excellent choice. Everybody from the domestic staff to the manager are so friendly and welcoming and do their best to make my visits as comfortable as possible
and the staff always make time to speak to me and update me on my wife's condition and developments generally. The care staff in the dementia unit are all very compassionate and caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them and they take everything in their stride. They are obviously dedicated and excellent with residents. In the 4 months I have been visiting I have seen little or no turnover of staff which is reassuring to me and particularly the residents. There are some agency staff at times which is understandable but they are also very good. The ambiance of the home is good and I am concentrating in this review on the care aspect as that is most important to me and my wife.

I volunteered in the wellbeing team. A good range of activities for the residents was provided, including personal 1 to 1 visits for those unable or unwilling to join in with the group activities. The care staff attended to the needs of the residents and treated them with dignity and respect. The housekeeping
team worked very hard to keep the home clean and looking smart. Everyone was very helpful when I needed to know something including the reception staff. The management and the maintenance team who fixed a fault I reported immediately.

Sadly, my mother-in-law passed away in hospital a couple of weeks ago. The staff at St John's were sensitive through a difficult time after she was admitted following a fall. We were kept informed as matters developed and when she was re admitted as an emergency. She was admitted to residential care
3 1/2 years ago with the prognosis that her advanced dementia meant a likely life span of just 2 years. In the event, the care and attention giving at St Johns meant she lived much longer. Her quality of life was greatly enhanced by the specialist dementia care including excellent entertainment and activities.
Reply from Emma Bayne, General Manager at St John's HouseThank you so much for your thoughtful message about your mother-in-law's time with us. We are deeply sorry for your loss and extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. It was a privilege for all of us at St John's House to be part of her care and to get to know her over the past 3 years. Your kind words about our team, activities and specialist dementia care mean a great deal to us. We strive to make every day meaningful and comfortable for the people who live here, and it is reassuring to know that our efforts brought her quality of life and comfort.
