I love interacting with the residents at Brunel House as I carry out my administration duties. I provide support to the Home Manager, Deputy Manager, relatives and residents, as well as other departments within the home.
My biggest achievement whilst working here has been understanding the payroll admin because it was very difficult to get to grips with. It felt like learning a foreign language!
When I'm not at work, I like to spend time with family and friends; we go to the cinema or to the races.
I've worked at Brunel House since 2016. I enjoy working in Reception and meeting all the relatives (they actually become friends after a while).
I have met a lot of very interesting people and shared many ups and downs with them. I believe it's nice to see a friendly face when you walk into the home and try to give a happy vibe to visitors.
I also get the chance to make friends with a lot of the residents and help them in whatever way I can.
I work with a lot of very nice, caring people of all age groups- I like that, especially as I am one of the oldest members of staff!
Hi, my name is Stacy and I am the Dementia Ambassador at Brunel House. My role as an ambassador is to promote person-centred care of the highest standard. I have recently qualified as a trainer with the Alzheimer's Society, this will play a key role in raising awareness and understanding of dementia, and make a positive difference to our residents by empowering our team to develop good practice.
I have worked within the care sector for 19 years and have been at Brunel House since 2013. Whilst at Brunel House I trained as a Care Practitioner and have also worked as an Activities coordinator.
Delivering activities and social events remains a big part of who I am. To make someone smile or hear them laugh, to be the person who has brightened someone's day, to be the ears to listen and the arms that comfort, to redirect thoughts and feelings that may shadow them at times: this is the best feeling in the world.
I live locally with my husband and two daughters. Family is everything to me and we spend our spare time creating cherished memories.
Iesha started work at Brunel House in 2016 as a Health Care Assistant and progressed her career within Brunel House as a Senior Care Assistant in 2019 and from 2022 as a Care Practitioner.
She is passionate about her role and particularly loves spending time with the residents, whether that is just having a chat or sharing a joke and a laugh. She is also keen that the team build good relationships with the relatives, whether they can visit the home regularly or live further away.
In her spare time, Iesha likes to go on 'adventures' - do ask about those when you meet her. She also enjoys playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Hi, I'm Chelsea and I am a Care Practitioner, I completed my training whilst working at Brunel House.
I have worked at Brunel House for 6 years, although I have worked in care for 12 years. The best bit about my role as a Care Practitioner is the clinical practice and admin management of the floor whilst still being able to participate fully with the residents.
The accomplishment I'm most proud of is the creation of the dementia floor which I view as an excellent model to achieve the best possible outcomes for maintaining the quality of life.
When off-duty I love online gaming and I read a lot of sci-fi books, The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings are among my favourites. I also like to explore the local Box hills and have been caving in the Boxwoods!
