My mother and I are no strangers to Care Homes. My dad was in two and my mum is now in her forth. From my first visit to look around the home, everyone has met us with a smile and made us feel extremely welcome. The rooms are a good size and the food is of better quality and greater variety than anything Mum has experienced previously. The vast majority of the caring and nursing staff have gone out of their way to make Mum feel at home, but particular mention needs to go to the Activities team. Not only are they hard working and innovative, but they have gone above and beyond to get to know Mum and get her involved in all sorts of activities. She has been out of her room more in the last 3 months than in the previous three years.

There are activities to join in if you wish, a cinema and a large lounge and a garden to enjoy. Also a "CAFE" where we can entertain our visitors. The staff are all friendly and so helpful. Brunel has given me a home and more.

I have met a lot of very interesting people and shared many ups and downs with them. I believe it's nice to see a friendly face when you walk into the home and try to give a happy vibe to visitors.

Hi, my name is Stacy and I am the Dementia Ambassador at Brunel House. My role as an ambassador is to promote person-centred care of the highest standard.
