Residents also enjoy the beautifully landscaped sensory gardens, which have been carefully designed for wheelchair users.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge. Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible.

My wife was keen from the outset that we should be supported or in her case nursed and made payment accordingly. My wife with a few senior district nurses started 'The Macmillan Nursing'. She was therefore very aware of her treatment for lung cancer and was comfortable throughout and passed away aware and comfortable. I and two of our sons were with her.

Our mother has been a resident for 4 months and in that time, we have had no cause for concern about the home. We appreciate the spacious layout, the wide corridors, the large community lounge with picture windows, as well as the smaller lounges for private gatherings. The bedrooms are nicely appointed with private bathroom, the hotel servicing is good. The staff are visible and approachable. The gardens are nicely maintained and it is good to be able to use the school garden too. The coffee shop is an excellent amenity and a very pleasant environment to have lunch with relatives.

She has now been given notice to leave because the home can not meet her needs, even though they claim to be specialists in Alzheimers Care. I do not recommend this care home for clients who have Alzheimers/Dementia because the staff are not trained to deal with clients who need more than board and lodgings.

Small requests in the care plan are ignored, especially if the resident is unable to communicate these problems. Hearing aids not cleaned, earrings not inserted, makeup out of reach. After lunch wearing dirty clothes. Full-length clothes protection not provided, even a plastic apron would help. This has been mentioned on at east 4 occasions and nothing has been done about it. Disappointed.

My aunt has been in Gracewell for nine months now and she is very happy and content. She has quality of life which is what it is all about. The staff are always smiling and they are very good with all the residents. The food is lovely and the activities are varied and optional. The problems which there have only been a few are addressed immediately. When we visit she is smiling and happy and when we bring her back to Gracewell after an outing she says she is going home now. For her to call Gracewell her home now, and be so happy there, is all I could ever have hoped for.
We are delighte4d in every way with Mum's care at Weymouth. We could not ask for better quality care. All staff are friendly , welcoming and smart. They are welcoming but professional. Mum is very happy and settled immediately she arrived in November. Thank you Gracewell.

I hold my Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, a diploma in adult nursing, and mentoring qualifications.
I decided to join Anning House because I wanted to be part of a well-respected, larger company that was part of the wider community where I live.
As a Home Manager, it’s important that I have empathy and am able to listen and lead by example. I always want to be a good role model and empower my team and others, treating everyone with respect. I went into nursing to make a difference; this can be a big impact or just the little things that make a difference in someone’s life. I’m still incredibly proud and happy to be able to continue to do this in my career every day.
Although I have a busy role at work, I like to keep busy outside of work too - I love supporting my husband when he’s playing in his band, going to nice restaurants to eat, entertaining family and friends at home, and going to the theatre, especially to see musicals.
