Everyone within this care home is exceptional in every way: Friendly, Polite, happy and understanding, providing a level of care I never expected to see and way above my expectations. Nothing is too much for anyone to assist you in anyway and they constantly keep you appraised and guide you with a profound knowledge in areas I'd never even considered. Highly recommended
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your experience with Dean Wood has exceeded your expectations. Providing compassionate, supportive and high-quality care is at the heart of everything we do, and it is incredibly rewarding to know that our team has made such a...
I am so pleased my father is now living at Dean Wood Care Home. All the staff have been extremely helpful, from assisting with the initial residency set up, right through to managing his day to day needs. The peace of mind that comes from knowing he has professionals on hand and plenty of stimulation, has been invaluable.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad to hear that all our staff have been extremely helpful and that you have peace of mind knowing your Father is well cared for. Thank you again for your review.
Dean Wood has been my mother's home for the last 3 months. She came to Dean Wood straight from hospital and was in immediate need of nursing and care on an ongoing basis. Although this has been a difficult time for her (having lived semi-independently on her own until this year) she has settled in well. This has been in large part due to the sensitive care and consideration she has been shown by the kind and caring staff. This has applied to nursing, administrative and care staff. The environment at Dean Wood is warm and welcoming and residents' requests and concerns are promptly addressed. Services such as the hair salon and visiting chiropodist and a full programme of entertainment and activities have really helped to make this a place she feels she can belong to. A great setting on the South Downs and glorious views of the sea make this a pleasant environment to live in. Everything is clean and tidy. This is a high quality establishment which I would strongly recommend.
Thank you for your lovely review. We hope that Dean Wood did everything possible to make this transition as easy as possible both for your Mum and the whole family. It is lovely to hear you describe our home and warm and welcoming. Thank you for choosing us to care for your Mum.
My Wife and I have just visited an old friend of ours staying at Dean Wood Care Home.
He looked very well and happy with his stay there.
We in our mid eighties were welcomed by the staff in all areas of the home including offering us a very well cooked meal as it was around lunchtime.
What more can we say it was it was faultless as far as we could see and observed.
Your review means a great deal to our team and we're so grateful you shared your experience. We are delighted to hear that you had a good experience when visiting your friend here at Dean Wood! It's also great that you had the opportunity to sample our delicious menu. We know how important good...
It gives me such peace of mind knowing that she is secure and contented and engaging so well with all the wonderful staff. What more can I say? It's probably the best Care Home in Sussex.
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. It is wonderful to hear that your Wife has settled in comfortably with us and hearing that our care brings you peace of mind truly means so much to us. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
The care from all the staff, their interactions, interest, calmness, concern and humour made my Mum's last year here a really special experience, and knowing she was being looked after by people who genuinely cared was a huge boost for her family
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are delighted with your feedback regarding Dean Wood care home. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
Mum has been a resident at Dean Wood for over seven years.
She always praised the staff for being very kind and caring, she loved the food and she really loved the entertainment.
I also would like to say a very big "THANK YOU" to all the girls and boys (Staff) for helping me and Mum through the last few days of Mums life, with true professionalism , kindness and affection.
So again THANK YOU.
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback. We are glad we were able to help you and your family through such a difficult time. Hopefully it is of comfort to you knowing that your Mum received the very best care in her final years.
Mum was a resident in Dean Wood for just over four years. I have nothing but praise for the way staff looked after her, especially in her final few weeks. The home was always clean and tidy, mum was always dressed well and there was a good choice of food at meal times. Staff were caring, considerate and thoughtful always putting mums needs first. I was always kept up-to-date with her nursing care regarding medications and care. In mums final few weeks at Dean Wood her health declined but she was always treated with such dignity and respect.
Whenever family visited we were all made to feel welcome, never felt like we were in the way, everyone would say hello and chat to us. Always greeted with a warm friendly welcome at reception. Our family cannot thank Dean Wood enough for the quality of care and support given by all members of staff, and we feel very lucky that mum had four years of being part of the 'Dean Wood' family. We really cannot recommend you enough.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this during what must be a very difficult time. We are humbled to hear that you have felt like a part of our Dean Wood family. Providing peace of mind for families is one of our top priorities, so your words mean a lot. We are saddened to hear about your...
After a difficult time at the Hospital & pressure to find a Care Home at short notice for my Mother, we have been delighted to find Dean Wood, the home is lovely, clean and spacious my Mum loves the decoration & choice of communal spaces.
The staff have all been exeptional warm, friendly and welcoming to my Mum and also the rest of the family, appreciating it is a difficult transition for everyone. What has really impressed me is that after only 2 weeks they have really got to know Mum & her likes and dislikes. As a result she is thriving and joining in many activities and making friends, the attention to details & preservation of dignity is great her hair, clothes and personal care are dealt with professionally and efficiently and communication with Mum is excellent.
My experience so far has greatly exceeded my expectations and my Mum is looking forward to using the roof terrace in the Spring / Summer with its spectacular views accross the Downs & Sea.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We understand that the transition into a care home can be difficult, especially when it is unexpected and at short notice. We are delighted to hear how well...
Dad stayed at Dean Wood for just over two years on the Clarence floor. We could not have asked for a more thoughtful and caring group of people to care for him over that time.
The staff were very attentive to his changing needs over that time. He grew more more fragile and at every step the staff moved swiftly and professionally to ensure he was safe and happy.
The afternoon events were always a highlight so it was 'Not Unusal' to find Tom Jones songs lilting out from the common room, or to see magicians making things appear and disappear or groups of happy children bonding with the residents!
The ever-present nurses and the doctor were always on hand to ensure that the medication was appropriate, available and reliably administered for his developing conditions.
There was always a smiling face at reception to welcome us and other visitors in, come rain or shine.
We whole heartedly recommend Dean Wood and all its staff including managers, administration, reception, nurses, carers
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your lovely comments. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Thoughtful" and "Caring" being used to describe our staff and hearing that our care has made a difference to you and your family is truly rewarding. We take pride in creating a caring...
Mum is settled in and has made many friends, she enjoys the activities and has amazing views over hills down to the sea from her modern, spacious bedroom with it's large, private ensuite. She has fun with the carers and most importantly, she (and we) trust the carers to look after Mum. We know she is safe and being well looked after and she has good fun with the lovely carers who always seem to be happy and enjoying their work.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so happy to hear you feel able to relax knowing your Mum is being well cared for at Dean Wood. We hope to continue providing your Mum with the best possible care.
During my mother's 6 month stay in Dean Wood we found the staff to be caring and compassionate, the surroundings to be clean and tidy and most welcoming. We were kept well informed of changes to her care and have only the highest praise for the running of all aspects of the home.
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. Providing kind and attentive care is in the heart of everything we do, so it's lovely to hear your feedback. Thank you for your kind words about the facilities. We take great pride in keeping the home bright, comfortable and full of light. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
I have been impressed by the care and consideration shown by staff over last 3 years towards my mother. In a depressing atmosphere like a nursing home I am constantly amazed by positive and proactive attitude of staff. I would have no hesitate in recommending Dean Wood for the care of loved ones.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are so pleased that the positive attitudes of our staff members has shined through and made your visits to our home pleasant. We are always here to help should you need anything.
My mum was a resident at Deanwood from October 2025 to January 2026 during which time she received amazing care from the staff and she was very happy living there. We could not have found anywhere better for her last months.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this during what must be a very difficult time. Hearing that our care brings you peace of mind truly means so much to us. Feedback like yours inspires us to continue to provide the very best care. We are saddened to hear about your loss but we hope you go away from this experience feeling as though your loved one has received the best possible care.
The standard of care for my father while he was resident in Dean Wood was exceptional, from the carers, nurses, catering staff, housekeeping, reception and everyone at the home - specifically the sensitivity both to dad and to us in his last days were very much appreciated. We are so grateful for all that was done for him - and us - while he was there.
Thank you for your kind words. Your comments are a testament to the dedication of everyone in the home. Hearing that our care has made a difference to you and your family is truly rewarding. We are saddened to hear about your loss but we are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. Thank you for choosing Dean Wood for your stay.
Mum moved to Dean Wood in June 2025, and although her time there before she sadly passed away in August was much shorter than we expected, we were so glad we had made the move to Dean Wood in time. The admission process was seamless and Mum settled quickly onto Clarence floor. The location, facilities and surroundings there with the rooftop terrace and cafe offering quiet spaces where we could sit with Mum or take some time out for ourselves are unique and essential. When Mum's health declined quickly, the medical staff kept us informed at all stages helping us to prepare for the final weeks prior to Mum passing away. The end of life care was simply outstanding, with Mum being treated with the utmost dignity and respect and I cannot put into words just how important that was to us as a family. We take great comfort knowing our beloved Mum was looked after by such an amazing and passionate team that treats every resident as an individual. We shall be forever grateful to you all.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. We are saddened to hear about your loss. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad this has shone though in your experience. Knowing that you felt reassured about your loved one's care is the best feedback we can receive. Hopefully you will go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My Dad took a while to settle in at the beginning but was supported and reassured by really good staff who were experienced and understanding.
He was cared for by the same manager, care staff and activity team the whole time which has meant he and his family were able to build trusting relationships with them. They have not only supported my Dad but us as a family.
We have spent many happy visits enjoying the facilities like the gardens, terrace and the cafe, enabling us to make positive memories at
the end of his life.
As he neared the last weeks of his 98 year old life and became weaker, he was able to be moved to the nursing floor, a choice that would not have been possible in another home. The 3 floor set up here is such a good idea, knowing that if your relative's needs change you don't have to think about them moving to a new home.
We really could not have asked for more.:
Thank you for your kind comments. We are saddened to hear about your loss. We are so pleased to hear that our staff at Dean Wood were understanding, supportive and kind towards your Dad and your family and that you felt at ease with him in our care. We are glad to help you and your family through...
I cannot speak higher of Dean Wood. My Grandma was admitted there in February and has only flourished. After a tough 6 months in and out of hospital, we weren't sure she would make it to Easter but now we are planning for Christmas!
The staff are amazing and so kind! They made such an effort for her 104th birthday, I could not ask for better people to be looking after my Grandma!
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Grandma in our care and we hope Dean Wood care home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved ones stay as comfortable as possible.
I cannot recommend Dean Wood highly enough for general and end of life care. Compassionate and kind.
Thank you to everyone who interacted with Dad
Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are so pleased to hear about how much of an impact the staff at the home have had on you and your dad. It's clear to see that your dad was well and truly a part of the Dean Wood family. We will certainly pass your kind comments on to the manager.
My friend who is a Gentleman is extremely pleased with the service, and all the staff are so kind and helpful and is enjoying the company and especially the food as he lives on his own. The nursing he has received is excellent and is improving his health. Well done to everyone at Dean Wood.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Friend in our care. It is always nice to hear words like "Kind" and "Helpful" being used to describe our Staff. We hope to continue providing your Friend with the best possible care.
