Dean Wood warmly welcome those in need of residential and nursing care, including people living with dementia or Parkinson’s.

Dean Wood is a modern, purpose-built care facility with fabulous panoramic sea views, state of the art accommodation and facilities. There's a dedicated dementia unit, as well as sensory gardens, reminiscence activity areas and memory boxes, that have all been carefully designed to help those with cognitive issues.

Residents have access to a private terrace and rooftop café where they can enjoy views out to the sea.

As an enhanced service to residents, twice-weekly GP visits are conducted at Dean Wood Care Home, enabling residents to receive regular, personalised medical reviews as part of the approach to person-centred care.

Dean Wood employs professional chefs, who are committed to good health and nutrition. They provide a varied menu of tasty food which residents can choose to enjoy in privacy or socialising with others.

Entertainment and promoting a stimulating lifestyle were in mind when this home was designed.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and attention they provide to my mother-in-law. The staff are very friendly, always smiling and always make time to talk to us and update us on her condition whenever we visit.

My Wife was only in the care home for a short period (about 4 months) - the care she received from the carers and nursing staff was absolutely first class - they are all, without exception, truly dedicated to their charges.
In my wife's last days I was there almost all the time, and they looked after
her as if she was one of their own family, I cannot praise them highly enough.
It was a very sad and quick ending for my wife but I know that everything was done that could be done for her.
I still visit the nurses and carers every week and will continue to do so because they became part of my family and I will always treat them as such.
They are amazing and they continue to support me by just being there for me to go to when I need to.

Residents and visitors had excellent care and support from all staff, the staff took the time and trouble to find out residents interests and made her stay as comfortable as possible during her last hours. Staff were very caring ad supportive to her close friend.

All management and staff have been most helpful. I have really good peace of mind knowing that my aunt is well cared for and that her interests are also being looked after. I have also been made to feel most welcome when visiting.

The staff gave us a warm welcome and have been very helpful on all occasions. The rooms are warm and comfortable with excellent facilities. There a plenty of activities, comfortable lounge an dining room, and a large patio overlooking the sea highly recommended.

The staff are incredibly helpful in all aspects. The rooms are delightful and comfortable. The, food is amazing and nicely served to residents. Activities are plentiful and varied and most enjoyable. My aunt has enjoyed taking part in and meeting other residents in these activities. Other sundry things
like hairdressing, podiatry, outings and pampering are available on request. In all home from home.

Very caring staff who try and interest the residents on Clarence floor within their limitations. The food is very good and residents are catered for. There is a core of local staff who have been here for a long time. Other staff changes occur rather regularly which is unfortunately part of the demanding
job and low pay.

On the whole I am very pleased with the care my husband is receiving. He has been in the home for just under two years now. All the staff are very friendly and kind. My one little niggle is that his glasses and other items go missing, sometimes and it can take a few days before they are found, bit I
realise it can't be helped.

My husband came in very aggressive both verbally and physically. Within a few days the staff had him settled apart from the occasional hiccup now and again. He is very happy here and I am impressed with the whole set up. All the staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble.

We have always found that our mother has had the highest level of care. The staff are always very approachable and do so much for our mother. We feel very happy with the care she has received so far and know she is very happy here. We are in regular contact with the staff and when we are not here they
telephone us regularly to appraise us of any situations which arise.
