Delivering high quality care and ensuring a pro active and fulfilling life for all our residents is so important to us. Receiving this feedback indicates to us that we are achieving this.
We are delighted with her progress and will miss the happy, friendly faces in Otter. Everybody we came into contact with was polite, courteous, patient and very kind, even though Mum was just a temporary resident, albeit one with vascular dementia. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the quality of the meals too. We cannot praise everybody enough for the quality of care given - Thank you, Foxburrow, for keeping Mum safe and looking after her for us, we couldn't have asked for more. Mum was quite sad to leave.
Thank you so much for entrusting us with the care of your Mum and for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. Feedback like this is such a boost for our staff, and I will share this with the team.
Staff keep me informed through the App and call if there is something more serious. They always welcome me when I arrive- both in the unit and reception. Staff are clearly concerned for her ongoing welfare and personal wishes whatever they may be at the time. They apply principles of best wishes as necessary. As a result mum does feel loved and I am happy that she is in a secure and caring environment. Our family views are endorsed by mum's latest LA Deprivation of Liberty and BIA reports.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review which I have shared with our team on Hedgehog. Kind regards

Thank you for your kind words Sonia, I will ensure that this is passed onto our care, kitchen and domestic teams.
Thank you for your feedback, I will pass your feedback onto our teams.
I count myself very lucky that I have had so much support from Foxburrow - laundry when she was hiding and stealing clothes, maintenance when she was flushing everything down the toilet, all when she was constantly escaping, all with her challenging behaviour. The nurses with medication and the night shift with mum's antics. The support I have had is outstanding and every time I see another story from it reminds me how lucky I am. It's hard to convey to everyone how much they are all appreciated so please pass on my thanks. Don't go on CQC reports alone - Please go and view the home and meet the teams.
Thank you for your valuable feedback and support, we will continue to provide the best for our service users. We will pass this feedback on to the staff who look after your mum and I am sure they will be very pleased.

I have worked in care since I was 18 as a carer, then progressed as a senior carer. My desire to make a deeper impact in the lives of those in need led me to pursue formal nurse training in 2004. After qualifying as a Registered general nurse in 2007, I spent four years as a community staff nurse before going back into care homes where I have worked my way through to my current position.
I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, providing continuous education, training, and mentorship to cultivate a culture of excellence within our care facilities. In my role as Assistant Director of Nursing and Older Peoples Services, my focus is on supporting our care home teams to deliver the best possible care for our service users and I’m particularly passionate about tissue viability and end-of-life care, areas where I believe we can make a real difference.
I have worked in care all my adult life; I began my career at 18 where I worked in the community delivering care to people in their homes. I then joined a Nursing care home where I worked as a carer for several years and progressed to care practitioner and then to a deputy manager.
I moved from further up North to Colchester in 2024 to be with my husband who is a paratrooper. I have had several roles here at Foxburrow and was promoted as Deputy Manager in 2025. I have a passion for operations and working with people to improve their skills, adhere to excellent ways of working and over all improving the lives and experiences of the residents and their loved ones.
I have worked within the care setting since 2003 where I started caring for individuals in the community, moving into care of individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues. During this time, I progressed from carer to senior carer.
In 2014 I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and for several years worked in secure services. However, elderly care has always been where my passion lies, and I returned to care of the elderly in 2020.
In my role as Clinical Lead at Foxburrow Grange my focus is to support the nursing and care staff to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. I am particularly passionate about Dementia care and providing a high standard of end-of-life care.
I have worked in care for 23 years starting off my career in a residential home in Hertfordshire, I progressed to Care Team Manager after a year I remained there for five years until relocating back to Colchester with my three children where I started working in a 2 bed residential bungalow for adults with learning disabilities and mental health. After two years I returned to elderly care as this is where my passion lies.
I started working at Foxburrow Grange in 2023 as a wing supervisor and progressed to Residential Unit Lead in 2025. I take pride in making a difference to people’s lives and ensuring we give person centred care. I like to spend my spare time with my husband and grandchildren.
Mandy has worked at Foxburrow grange for over 10 years, she manages the housekeeping team who are so proud of what they achieve within the Home.
Mandy said that, "Everyday is different but there is nothing more enjoyable than seeing the residents smile and enjoy living at Foxburrow grange, it is like home from home and I want to ensure that myself and my team meet the needs of the residents".
In her spare time, she loves to garden and decorate her home, and to build things. This all keeps her remarkably busy and there is nothing that she likes more, Mandy said “I feel I have the best of both worlds”.
Ruta has worked within the catering department for many years in various settings, she has a reputation for making the best cakes in the industry.
There is nothing more than seeing the enjoyment on the faces of the residents when they eat their meals, they love the birthday cakes all of which are personalised to the person.
Ruta has worked at Foxburrow Grange for 7 years, she has now become the head chef and is loving her new role.
With over 10 years of experience in administration, I have a strong background in organisational management and team support. My career has been driven by a passion for helping teams thrive and providing exceptional service that makes a difference. I recently made the exciting transition to the healthcare sector, where I’m excited to bring my skills and experience to a new field. I’m so pleased to be a part of Outlook Care and contribute to its mission of making a positive impact on lives.
As I navigate this new field, I’m committed to streamlining processes and ensuring effective support for my colleagues, all while focusing on excellent patient care.
Outside of work, I enjoy baking and socialising, and I look forward to growing both personally and professionally in this rewarding environment.
With more than 25 years of experience in maintenance, including 11 years at City Point in London, I take pride in creating safer, more comfortable spaces for residents and staff. My passion lies in finding ways to improve the home environment, ensuring that every space feels warm, inviting, and truly homely. Seeing the joy on residents’ faces when enhancements are made to their rooms is what drives me. From everyday upkeep to strategic improvements, my focus is always on maintaining a safe, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Emma is originally from Transylvania and moved to England seven years ago. She has had various roles in care homes and became the Wellbeing Coordinator in December 2021.
Emma is passionate about her role and by making our residents feel involved and valued, she has introduced activities that stimulate and motivate our residents to do what they thought they couldn’t do.
Emma has received really positive feedback from everybody involved at the home and from external visitors, this continues to motivate her to do even more within her role.
She has established a full programme of activities; all are aimed at making each day better than yesterday for the residents who live at Foxburrow Grange.
Emma’s motto : The more you do, the better you get - Emma uses this to encourage the residents to do a little more every day.
I made the decision to change careers in November 2024, moving from the Film and TV industry into the care sector to follow my passion for helping others. In July 2025, I joined the team at Foxburrow Grange as an Activities Coordinator.
With a creative background and a strong belief that life doesn’t stop when you enter a care home, I’m committed to bringing energy, empathy, and meaningful engagement to our residents’ daily lives. I work closely with residents, their families, and the wider care team to ensure every individual feels seen, valued, and supported to live life to the fullest.
For me, compassion, connection, and a friendly smile go a long way—and I’m proud to be part of a team that shares those values.
