I feel that I am fully supported and am able to participate
The resident's rooms are spacious and all have their own private facilities. As well as dining & lounge areas in each unit there are several quiet areas throughout the home where friends & relatives can sit with their loved ones. There is also pleasant accessible outside space and, for those able to be taken out, the beautiful area of Abbey Fields nearby.
Activities are many and varied from 'pat' dogs & jazz afternoons to coffee clubs & sing-a-longs and everyone is encouraged and helped to join in if they wish.
I truly believe that Foxburrow Grange provides my husband with the safety, security and care that he needs.

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.266) out of 10 for Foxburrow Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.
The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.
The Average Rating of 4.714 for Foxburrow Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.714
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').
The 4.552 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Foxburrow Grange Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 69 registered maximum number of service users is 13.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.8 = 0.652
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Director of Nursing & Older Peoples Services
Joined: 2024
I have worked in care since I was 18 as a carer, then progressed as a senior carer. My desire to make a deeper impact in the lives of those in need led me to pursue formal nurse training in 2004. After qualifying as a Registered general nurse in 2007, I spent four years as a community staff nurse before going back into care homes where I have worked my way through to my current position.
I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, providing continuous education, training, and mentorship to cultivate a culture of excellence within our care facilities. In my role as Assistant Director of Nursing and Older Peoples Services, my focus is on supporting our care home teams to deliver the best possible care for our service users and I’m particularly passionate about tissue viability and end-of-life care, areas where I believe we can make a real difference.
Job Title: Deputy Manager
Joined: 2024
I have worked in care all my adult life; I began my career at 18 where I worked in the community delivering care to people in their homes. I then joined a Nursing care home where I worked as a carer for several years and progressed to care practitioner and then to a deputy manager.
I moved from further up North to Colchester in 2024 to be with my husband who is a paratrooper. I have had several roles here at Foxburrow and was promoted as Deputy Manager in 2025. I have a passion for operations and working with people to improve their skills, adhere to excellent ways of working and over all improving the lives and experiences of the residents and their loved ones.
Job Title: Clinical Lead
Joined: 2023
I have worked within the care setting since 2003 where I started caring for individuals in the community, moving into care of individuals with learning disabilities and mental health issues. During this time, I progressed from carer to senior carer.
In 2014 I qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and for several years worked in secure services. However, elderly care has always been where my passion lies, and I returned to care of the elderly in 2020.
In my role as Clinical Lead at Foxburrow Grange my focus is to support the nursing and care staff to provide high-quality, person-centred care to our residents. I am particularly passionate about Dementia care and providing a high standard of end-of-life care.
Job Title: Residential Unit Lead
Joined: 2023
I have worked in care for 23 years starting off my career in a residential home in Hertfordshire, I progressed to Care Team Manager after a year I remained there for five years until relocating back to Colchester with my three children where I started working in a 2 bed residential bungalow for adults with learning disabilities and mental health. After two years I returned to elderly care as this is where my passion lies.
I started working at Foxburrow Grange in 2023 as a wing supervisor and progressed to Residential Unit Lead in 2025. I take pride in making a difference to people’s lives and ensuring we give person centred care. I like to spend my spare time with my husband and grandchildren.
