Unfortunately mum couldn't care for herself at home alone, she had numerous falls and as a family, we decided for her to come into care where she has settled in very well. She also seems happier in herself too. She gets all the help she needs. The staff are very friendly and supportive.

Mum has dementia and can't communicate.
The care team are great. Their interactions with mum are caring and kind. The standards of care are very high and mum's physical condition is excellent. The team communicate with me regularly and clearly and always meet my questions and requests the best they
can.

Mum was only with you for a few short months but during that time she was treated with great care and respect.
Her room was bright and clean and mum was always clean and well dressed.
On my first visit, the aroma of the lovely meals filled the place.
Such professional caring staff, please thank them
all they are all angels to me.

My mum moved into Norbury Court in2016 and from the first day, my mum was given a high level of care and thought highly of by staff until her final days. Mum was a very vulnerable person and physically fragile which staff were very aware of and as such ensured she needed to manage her safety. And keep
her in good health. Although mum has Alzheimer's her was able to recognise staff and respond to them in her own ways. I would like to thank all of the staff for their support as would my mum if she was able.

Staff are always available to answer any questions we may have. Management acted promptly on an issue I had recently, this made staff more aware of my issue and they couldn't do enough after this. Everything was logged and my family could see what was being done for the end of life care.
The domestic
staff always speak to the resident before entering their room telling what they are doing etc.

All of the staff always try to keep everyone smiling and are understanding of everyone's needs and requirements. My nan has settled in great and it had taken a huge responsibility and pressure off the family. I know she is in safe hands.

I feel my mum is in a warm, friendly environment, the care staff make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble, they are very informative and keep you updated with any changes regarding the care of your relative. I think that although they always work with a smile on their face, they could do
with an extra staff member, due to the complex needs of the clients, both on days and especially night duty.

Mum's dementia is deteriorating yet all the staff are just as patient, kind and caring, despite her difficult behaviour (a visiting social worker recently commented how well the staff know my mother). Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. They are just so incredibly dedicated and loving
in their attitude.

I attended a Diamond Wedding Anniversary for a resident. The catering staff prepared an excellent buffet and the room provided for the occasion had been decorated with balloons and banners. The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful and their efforts contributed to a memorable event. I commend
everyone involved in making this a special occasion.

On June 22nd, 2017, my wife (Alzheimer patient) and I celebrated our 60th (Diamond) wedding anniversary. The manager arranged a buffet reception for us along with a dozen of our friends. It was an occasion that will remain in our memory for the rest of our lives. The visitor's lounge had been enlightened
with bunting, banners and balloons. The buffet was beautifully presented and a lovely cake had been made with our names decorating the anniversary. I have expressed my thanks to the manager and all concerned for the efforts of so many of the staff. They couldn't have tried harder. A real team effort.

My husband has been a resident since April 2017.
He was admitted because he is in need of nursing care.
His health and well-being have improved since being admitted.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
My husband's room, though simple, is adequate.
He has a good bed and a special mattress so that
he is safe and does not develop pressure sores.
I am satisfied he is being well cared for.

Current Review Score: 7.1 (7.066)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.1 (7.066) out of 10 for Norbury Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 3.4 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 3.358 for Norbury Court is calculated as follows: ( (18 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 3.358
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.708 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Norbury Court is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.333
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
