Alexandra Court Care Centre

Although my mother had only a short time in the home, she appeared to really enjoy it. The staff are amazing, kind, humorous, and most of all, professional. They treated Mother with the utmost dignity. The home is clean, bright and beautifully decorated with amazing gardens. We cannot find fault with anything. Her room was always warm and clean. The entertainment brightened my mother's life. Unfortunately, she passed away last week, but she was happy there.

Alexandra Court is a nice place. Mum gets the support and care she needs, plus her welfare too making her safe.

When Mum was very poorly, end of life, the staff were wonderful and treated Mum with dignity and were very caring; they were also so lovely to me and my sister.

Not enough staff to carry out adequate care. A shocking CQC report and communication between home and families, a lot of improvement is needed around person-centered care and medication. Non-existent activities. They make it difficult for families to visit, due to restrictions, no key worker connection with families.

I removed my mother-in-law from this home. Very understaffed, very bad management and the owners put profits over residents safety and staff morale. My mother-in-law was walking around in clothes covered in mould. Her drawer was full of mouldy clothes. No one bothered to find out why she smelt of mould. She was always sad, grey looking when we collected her for outside visits once they allowed outside visits. I then read the shocking CQC report which only backed up my worries about the safety and care being given. Ninety per cent of the blame lands with the owner and management. £700 a week to walk around in mouldy clothes, missed medication, prison-like visits and hardly any mental stimulation from activities. Very few to no updates to families showing the residents smiling. Not even a single picture on Christmas Day of anyone having Christmas fun. Which for the majority of the residents would have been the first Christmas not seeing their families due to nothing being set up for this to happen.

My mother has been in the care home for one year. In that time she's been looked after really well at all times. Although we think with covid and lack of visits she deteriorated quite a lot but she seems happy when we have seen her and thank everyone for all the hard work in a difficult year.

Where care concerns are identified, both personal and general, I have no problems in discussing these with the relevant management staff, where my views/concerns are discussed and agreed actions implemented.

My mum has been in this care home for 6 months and within that time she is happy and very well cared for. All the staff have gone above and beyond during covid to sort out skype video calls and pod visits which have been fantastic to keep in touch with my mum and also to have her grandchildren be able to see and talk to her. The staff always contact me if anything happens. I give them 10/10 for everything. Thank you.

I have always thought the staff caring and considerate. They look after mam really well and she never has a wrong word against them. She is happy and content. What more can anyone ask.

My mum has been a resident at Alexandra Court Care Centre for nearly 5 years. She has complex medical needs and now is confined to bed. Her care and treatment have been very good. All her needs are taken care of by a team of nurses and carers. During the covid pandemic, I have been able to talk to my mum over a skype call every other week and I am now able to have a visit once a fortnight.

There are several ratings that I cannot answer mainly because of the restrictions imposed because of the covid-19 pandemic. When dealing with the home they have been in that 6 month period, fine. However, the person who I am POA for, I haven't seen in that period. The first contact was on 08.03.21 when I visited in a pod. I have yet to go inside the home.

We are very pleased with the care and attention my other receives. Due to the difficult time we are having with the virus, we have not been able to visit as much as we would have in normal times but we have been able to facetime call my mother and recently been able to have a visit in a booth and see my mother through a screen. This has been purely down to the excellent staff at the home. Many thanks.

Staff is great but very overworked. Bosses expect too much of them. Need to employ more staff. Head office very inefficient and disconnected from their care homes. Care home needs more exercise and physio programmes, more activities and staff need more time to interact properly. Gaps in care due to lack of staff.

Staff have gone above and beyond to keep the residents safe during the covid-19 pandemic. Staff listen to concerns and relay info to health professionals on my mothers and my behalf. Mum always appears well cared for.

The home is very well run by lovely people.

Both my parents are residents of Alexandra Court. Both suffer from dementia and other conditions. I am so happy with the care they receive. The home is very clean and attractive, and the staff are wonderful, experienced, caring and competent. The home has responded to their very specific needs, keeping me involved and informed at all times. Mum and Dad look happy and well cared for and enjoy a range of activities and one to one sessions. Before covid, I was welcomed in for visits and was able to join in activities with my parents.

Mum has been a resident at Alexandra Court Care Centre for several years. The home is modern, clean and welcoming. All staff are friendly, helpful and informative. Mum has always been well cared for, well-fed, felt safe and happy. There is a wide range of activities which are fun, stimulating and enjoyable. My family feels content in the knowledge, especially at the moment, that mum is so well looked after and we have nothing but praise and thanks to everyone involved at Alexandra Court.

The staff were kind, communicative, caring, compassionate and at the end, when he passed away, they were extremely supportive and sensitive. The home always smelled nice, and relatively quiet considering the amount of people staying there. He could be difficult, but all the staff persevered with him. We cannot thank them enough and wholly recommend this home.

On reading some of the reviews I had concerns about my brother going into Alexandra Court Care Centre but as it was the only available home with a vacancy as the hospital needed him to have nursing care. I decided to use them. I cannot thank the staff enough, he was well looked after by all the staff and they also took the time to speak to him and also to us. So pleased he went there.

A massive thank you for the loving, genuine care and sympathy shown to our father and ourselves whilst in your care, he was well looked after and treated with dignity and respect right to the very end. We could not have asked for anything more, we are so grateful from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you all so much.
