My mum moved into the home at the start of May and was made to feel at home straight away. The staff were extremely efficient, caring and friendly. I was instantly assured that this was where mum would be cared for with the attention and patience required. A huge thank you to you all for making this transition so smooth but professional and personal. I know my mum appreciates your work and kindness as does her family.

Reply from Gayle Bain, Registered Manager at Rubislaw Park Care Home

It is so nice to read your review and feedback in relation to your mum's move into Rubislaw. We understand how difficult this transition can be. Have always found my Aunt treated with respect by all the staff. I am kept informed of any changes in my Aunt's condition. The staff are all friendly to residents and visitors. She has a lovely clean room. Prior to COVID visitors were always encouraged to join in all of the many activities taking place within the care home. Hopefully, it won't be long until these activities can restart as we all enjoyed them. She is well cared for and happy here.

It is fabulous after such difficult times to now be able to get into the home and visit face to face. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the home is very clean, residents are clearly well cared for and the menu and food receives very good reviews. The manager is working hard to communicate with families, which is much appreciated. I look forward to the restrictions easing even more and visits and activities increasing. Keep up the good work!

The Home handled a very difficult year extremely well and they are to be commended for the safety precautions they continue to take. Though there were occasional communication problems with residents, there were regular emails from the manager to update relatives. The home is always fresh and clean and the cleaning staff deserve a special mention. All staff are endlessly patient and helpful and, in spite of a large number of residents, they usually remember who you are and who you will be visiting, which is extraordinary and so welcoming. Even after a long absence, the carers greeted us as if it was yesterday and their warmth and humour with the residents is wonderful to see.

Residents are treated as individuals and their idiosyncrasies are handled beautifully - nothing is too much trouble. Moves to make the grounds more attractive are ongoing and welcome too.

The care home has always been very welcoming to all visitors. We have been kept well informed about what is going on in Rubislaw. We have enjoyed window visits over the last year and have been lucky in the fact that my dad has a ground floor room. Very pleased we are now getting visits inside. My first indoor visit in over a year and my dad was pleased to see me and I am sure a positive effect on him.

On every visit to Rubislaw Care Home, the staff have been welcoming and professional. The interior and facilities are kept to a high standard with cleanliness and hygiene always a priority giving confidence during the current pandemic. This has been an exceptionally hard time for everyone, but I feel Rubislaw Park has improved very much since November with the new manager. Staff are very friendly, helpful and we are kept in touch by telephone, zoom calls and of course, the two weekly visits are hopefully the start of our 'new normal' but we are hoping to see more of Mum, who we have missed so much.

My mum moved into care a month ago and having cared for my mum for six years, the adjustment and transition were difficult for both of us but with my mum's needs, she now needed the nursing care 24/7. I have been anxious over this move and the staff, both nursing and care staff, have been so lovely and supportive to both of us and helped us adjust. The Manager is a lovely lady full of empathy and so approachable to discuss anything with and the whole staff are all very friendly and cheerful. The transition has gone well thanks to their support and care and it's nice to come in and see my mum looking well and knowing she's in such caring hands for all her needs.

My sister moved into the home at the end of January as she was in need of 24/7 care in her final weeks of he life. The level of care she received was second to none, all the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. I work as a Care Manager in Aberdeen. I recently assisted to place a younger female woman with full capacity into Rubislaw Park Nursing Home for end-of-life care. Due to her age, she was very anxious about going to a care home and was unsure about the decision she was making. However, a few days after moving she contacted me via her mobile phone and stated "I am being treated like a princess" and proceeded to tell me that as soon as she walked through the door she knew she had made the right decision due to the welcoming and friendly reception she had received from the staff within the home. I received regular phone calls from her during her time there and all were to praise the home, the staff and to inform that she felt happy, welcome and cared for. She requested that after her passing I submit a review indicating how much she appreciated the manner within which she was cared for and to praise the staff who made the end stages of her life that little bit easier.

My mother was admitted to Rubislaw Park Care Home in early February.
From the initial offer of a place, all the way through to her admission, the home and their staff were excellent. Not just professional, but also very caring and provided a bespoke personal touch tailored to my mum's needs. Every question we had was answered and addressed.
When I dropped her off at the home she was welcomed by staff and personally by the home manager who already knew her name and made the whole experience very pleasant, at what can be a difficult time.
In the weeks that followed, I cannot praise the staff or the home enough. At every stage, they have made the care and service they provide as personal as they can and my mum has forged some great relationships with the staff as they get to know each other.

The home itself is lovely and in a lovely location. One look at the home's Facebook page gives you an idea of how fun they make the place for the residents with regular activities, happy hours and general fun times.
