Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare

Deciding one's relative needs to move into a care home, is an emotional and difficult decision and is usually preceded by a stressful period of health issues, financial anxieties and tearful conversations. But Alder House was a light at the end of the tunnel and I have no regrets about us making the decision on Mum's behalf for her to move into Alder House. Yes, there were a few teething problems but nothing that couldn't be overcome through constructive and caring dialogue between family and staff. I can't praise all the staff highly enough for their kindness, dedication, support, professionalism and last but not least, their good humour even during dark times. They gave Mum a new lease of life, and despite her failing health, she remained positive and never lost her sense of humour. And I can honestly say that I enjoyed visiting Mum there. Thank you so much to all the staff.

Staff respond to his specific needs and they make me feel as though they really love looking after him - this is so reassuring to family carers. He has all the medical checks he needs, is happy and eating well. Generally, I feel very relaxed about him being at Alder House now.

When visiting the home I feel welcome and comfortable. Nothing is too much for anyone. All residents are 'busy' doing what they want to do or joining in with activities. I can't fault it!

Alder House is a special care home on the edge of Nottingham city centre. There are great transport links located just around the corner. The home is beautifully decorated to the highest standards all with an amazing team who are there for your every need. Whether it’s respite or long term care you require you won’t go wrong with the caring patience of Alder House.

I cannot fault the genuine care and attention to detail that this home affords its residents which in turn gives peace of mind that loved ones are valued and cared for in an excellently managed home.

I can only review on the strength of a nine-day visit but you can see from the grades below that I considered everything to be of a very high standard. I would also like to add that all the staff are unfailingly and tirelessly helpful and caring.

My mum had 2 weeks respite whilst we were on holiday. This was a great comfort to us. On our return, Mum was really happy with the care she received. She looked really well and she had a great time. She also had a day out to Bridlington. She made lots of new friends and she said all the staff were excellent. We won't hesitate to use Alder House in the future.

Couldn't believe that care homes could be like this. Hotel standards and care is exceptional. All staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. Home manager was so friendly when we moved mum in and she always greets us with a lovely smile. Gardens are beautiful and mum really enjoys the activities. This home was recommended and we have not been disappointed so far.

Superb!! My mum is a resident here and she loves it. From management to housekeeper they are all so friendly and greet you with a big smile. The care is exceptional and feel confident mum is well looked after.

My mother moved into Alder House in November 2016, she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 8 years ago. The difference in her is amazing. Mum is a very active person and gets bored easily but there is so much going on at Alder House that she doesn't have time to get bored, Her dementia seems to have gone back a stage, she can now hold a conversation again and can join in and understand activities such as Bingo, Boules, Knitting and lots more which she had lost the ability to do. I can't thank Alder House and all of the staff enough for giving my lovely mum back to me and giving her a life worth living.

I would just like to say a big thank you to all of the staff who looked after my mum whilst I was on holiday for 3 weeks, they are a credit to your company. I would recommend Adler House to other people looking for respite, and already have.

My father suffers from Parkinson's disease and had memory and mobility problems. He came for respite stay and is now a permanent resident. The staff are wonderful, caring, joyful and attentive. The activities coordinators provide many different activities to cover all abilities and interests and there is always something going on. The rooms are clean and bright and the garden is lovely. I would certainly recommend Alder House highly.
