The Alder House in Nuthall provides high-quality resident living facilities as well as dementia and respite care.

Residents benefit from comfortable and spacious bedrooms, complete with ensuite facilities. Companionship suites are also available for couples who would like to stay together.

Visitors who come to Alder house are always made to feel welcome and a part of the Alder house family. They have a fantastic, consistent staff team that know the resident care needs well. The home is supported by a fantastic regional team who ensure the high quality standards are maintained.

Their wonderful residents love to have family pets and children coming in to visit. The homely warm atmosphere exists throughout the home. Special attention is paid to those with dementia, as shown by the café, which is full of mementoes from the past days.

A full programme of daily activities, including maintaining body strength, is supported by volunteers. The atmosphere is lively and fun and residents enjoy gardening, regular cinema showings, going out on Sundays and eating well. There is no need for residents to venture out if they don't want to as they are able to have their hair done or enjoy hot refreshments in the onsite hairdressers and café.

Good relations are maintained with the local community and the neighbouring Avery home, Acer Court.

This is a lovely care home and I would recommend anyone to let their loved ones live here. The staff are great and there is a lovely atmosphere for the residents and staff. The staff care about their residents and their good health and well being. Our sister is in good humour and is well, considering
her Alzheimers. Her room is like a hotel bedroom, spacious and very clean.

Such a lovely, friendly caring home. Nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff. They all work together and form a very strong team. You can feel that they all get on as a unit. The atmosphere is always very calm and they are so kind and caring to all residents. We have witnessed all of them
going over and above what their role is, there are no boundaries. An amazing care home, something I have not witnessed in any other home I have visited.

My friend is very well cared for and very happy. The staff (all) are excellent and very kind, nothing too much trouble. The home itself is clean, well maintained with excellent facilities and food. I am very happy to visit and can even take along my dog, who by the way loves all the attention she gets
from the residents and staff. This home is just what everyone could wish for in our later years.

A beautiful peaceful home. The staff are wonderful and treat the residents with respect dignity and love. Our mum has only been in for a short while but she has been looked after as though she is family. There are also lots of activities taking place and a beautiful garden for residents to go outside
have a sit down and a chat or help planting seeds. The home is always spotlessly clean and smells lovely.
Would I recommend this home? Yes, 100%.

The manager and staff at Alder House Care Home are the utmost professionals. They have helped my mum regain her confidence and her health has improved immensely. The manager visits all the residents daily and treats them with respect and dignity. So many activities are well planned and attended. It

How to begin is the greatest difficulty!
Alder House excels itself as a real 'care home'.
In my line of work before I retired, I visited a great many care homes over the years, so I recognise a good one when I see it.
The first step into the building, from reception, the staff and the wards, there
is a friendliness, warmth and awareness from everyone.
I once thanked one of the staff for the care and attention and the reply was 'we love them all!'
That is Alder House.

Alder House is by far the best facility of its kind in this area and I’ve visited many. Yes, it’s more expensive than most but you certainly get what you pay for. Best of all I now have peace of mind that my aunt is being well looked after in what could pass as a 5* hotel.

Mum is spending time at Alder House as I needed surgery and was unable to help with her care. Mum has dementia and usually sleeps most of the time BUT over the last two weeks mum has been chatting, engaging in activities and taking pride in her appearance. She is now getting up and dressed in the morning
instead of waiting for carers. She is gaining weight and loving the choice of food. She is making the choices. I have seen such a change and mum is living not existing.


Sadly, mum will be going home in a week but I hope she will be able to spend more time at Alder House for another holiday very soon.


It is great to see so many staff constantly interacting with the residents and not just between 9 and 5. Activities continue all day and weekends too. There is company and stimulation when wanted or peace and quiet when not. Every member of staff I have met has had mum’s (and the other residents) best interests at heart. What more could I ask for?

We looked at a lot of Care Homes before feeling confident in choosing Alder House for our mum. We were not disappointed. From the first moment, we walked in it was like going into a 5-star hotel with brilliantly trained staff for whom nothing was ever too much trouble. They were caring, kind, dedicated
and supportive to both mum and the whole family and I can't thank them enough for all they did for her. It was a pleasure visiting her there and seeing her join in and enjoy the variety of activities, she was happy and settled and never asked 'When am I going home?" because the wonderful staff made Alder House feel like home. I would highly recommend Alder House for anyone looking for care for themselves or a relative because the staff here are the epitome of care.

We came for a weeks respite care. Husband had 2 strokes and several TIA's in recent years.
I had health issues. The experience has been exactly what we hoped for. The care and effort put in by all staff has given me the motivation to go forward again rather than feeling life has "stalled". We do hope
to repeat the experience in spring of 2019.

Deciding one's relative needs to move into a care home, is an emotional and difficult decision and is usually preceded by a stressful period of health issues, financial anxieties and tearful conversations. But Alder House was a light at the end of the tunnel and I have no regrets about us making the
decision on Mum's behalf for her to move into Alder House. Yes, there were a few teething problems but nothing that couldn't be overcome through constructive and caring dialogue between family and staff. I can't praise all the staff highly enough for their kindness, dedication, support, professionalism and last but not least, their good humour even during dark times. They gave Mum a new lease of life, and despite her failing health, she remained positive and never lost her sense of humour. And I can honestly say that I enjoyed visiting Mum there. Thank you so much to all the staff.

My husband is nicely settled now in his luxury surroundings at Alder House Care Home after approximately a year. At first, it was difficult as every time he saw me he thought he was coming home but I was supported to handle each visit by excellent staff and it's lovely to see him now 'at home' in Alder
House.

Staff respond to his specific needs and they make me feel as though they really love looking after him - this is so reassuring to family carers. He has all the medical checks he needs, is happy and eating well. Generally, I feel very relaxed about him being at Alder House now.


I have recently had a serious operation and throughout my recovery, Alder House looked after all his little extras that I couldn't help with. It was all handled very sensitively and they genuinely care about family members as much as the residents.
After 8 difficult years of my husband's mental health deterioration at home, he now has all the care he deserves and I can relax!

A truly wonderful gem.
Alder House is a special care home on the edge of Nottingham city centre. There are great transport links located just around the corner. The home is beautifully decorated to the highest standards all with an amazing team who are there for your every need. Whether it’s respite

We have available some beautiful spacious rooms on our Lawrence and Sherbrooke suites.
