The Alder House in Nuthall provides high-quality resident living facilities as well as dementia and respite care.

Residents benefit from comfortable and spacious bedrooms, complete with ensuite facilities. Companionship suites are also available for couples who would like to stay together.

Visitors who come to Alder house are always made to feel welcome and a part of the Alder house family. They have a fantastic, consistent staff team that know the resident care needs well. The home is supported by a fantastic regional team who ensure the high quality standards are maintained.

Their wonderful residents love to have family pets and children coming in to visit. The homely warm atmosphere exists throughout the home. Special attention is paid to those with dementia, as shown by the café, which is full of mementoes from the past days.

A full programme of daily activities, including maintaining body strength, is supported by volunteers. The atmosphere is lively and fun and residents enjoy gardening, regular cinema showings, going out on Sundays and eating well. There is no need for residents to venture out if they don't want to as they are able to have their hair done or enjoy hot refreshments in the onsite hairdressers and café.

Good relations are maintained with the local community and the neighbouring Avery home, Acer Court.

From the moment Mum arrived, she felt safe in the hands of the team here at Alder House. Every time I visit, all staff are happy, cheerful and attentive to every need. They all regularly come in to check Mum is okay and that nothing is too much trouble if something is required.
My only negative comment
is that laundry is a bit hit-and-miss! Maybe a little more attention to the labels and room numbers/names wouldn't go a miss. Otherwise excellent service and support all around.

What a lovely home, visited my friends. The atmosphere was wonderful, lots of activities and had a lovely warm feeling. Witnessed meals and they looked and smelt delicious.

I came for respite after having several weeks in hospital. I realised that I can no longer be safe alone at home nor do the things I was doing before. Also my family would worry. I have decided to stay here where I am cared for and safe. The staff are all so kind, respectful and polite. there are activities
to go to. The food is good and the gardens beautiful.

The care staff and management at Alder House treated our mother with such care, love, dignity and understanding. Our mum felt respected, loved and safe at Alder House. The room was beautiful, and Mum loved looking out of the window at the flowers and the frequent people coming and going. She enjoyed
the meals, the activities and the joyous entertainment and "feeling". The carers and all the team were exceptional - they put their hearts and souls into their jobs - we couldn't have asked for more, and Mum was in the best place we could have ever hoped for. We had total peace of mind right until the end of Mum's life.

With limited IT ability, I came to the point of despair at my failure to renew my car insurance. It took admin staff nearly two hours to sort it but they would not give up and my despair was going. I describe this incident because it is typical of the willingness of staff to help residents with personal

Choosing Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare on my grandma's final weeks of her life was the best choice we made. All staff from all departments made us feel welcome and cared for. The level of move my grandma received was unmatched! The love and care we saw from staff towards my grandma came naturally
from the care staff. As a family we can't thank the home and their staff enough.

In my view this is a 5 star facility. All our needs are catered for, at the staff have a difficult job to meet our demands. So many work until tired, night staff very good. The records of our treatment and medication first class! Thank you all and the management that manages this first class establishment.

Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is the best one could ever hope for in a care home. The home has everything needed to make it caring, comforting and rewarding. The rooms are brilliant. The catering is very good. The garden is amazing. Above all the staff are so good. From the manager down to
the cleaners all are top class and they really care for all the residents and absolutely love my mum which makes me feel very comfortable when I have to leave her in their capable hands. Well done to everyone working there.

On June the 17th this year our son got married at Salisbury Cathedral. Both his gran and his grandpa are residents at Alder House, they would both have loved to be at the wedding but because of their health and the distance, this was not possible.
The wedding was being live steamed, so the staff at
the home went out of their way to stream it on the large screen in the cinema room. Both my dad and my wife's mother were able to invite their friends to watch it with them and then they put on a fantastic buffet for them to make the day so, so special, all of the staff were brilliant and made it a day that they will never forget.
A big thanks to all of them.

My dad went to live at Alder House in November 2022. He has Alzheimer's and was unsafe to live alone at home. We were told he had some challenging behaviour but the carers have been brilliant with him. He has good days and bad. But is safe and eating three good meals a day.

My father was at Alder House for respite and we all soon agreed it would be the best place for him to become a resident. He was ninety-six and struggling at home. From the moment we visited Alder House, we knew it was a home for him. The staff are all wonderful and did everything to make him feel very
welcome and comfortable. Everything is of a very high standard. The quality of food and accommodation is excellent. Sadly my father became very ill and started the pathway to end of life. Total care and dignity was shown at all times, he was able to have family and friends visit and always had someone with him to say their goodbyes. My wife and I always had peace of mind knowing that he was being so well cared for and we will always be deeply thankful to everyone who looked after him and made his last few months as best as he could have. Thank you again for your outstanding care and hard work.
We would all highly recommend Alder House to care for your loved ones.

My dearest friend resides at Alder House. I have not been able to visit her for a while due to covid and ill health. So, when I visited her on the 3rd of December, I was delighted to find her looking so well and cared for. The home is lovely, clean and the staff are absolutely amazing, they made me
feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere in the home gives you a warm glow, it's lively and full of laughter. I didn't want to leave.

Started with respite care for a month but was extended at the request of the resident who after 3 months asked to become a permanent resident. Through Covid Lockdown, every care, involvement and consideration was given by the wonderful staff in very difficult conditions. This is a very happy home. On
visiting regularly, the thing which shines through is the dedication and enthusiasm of the staff.

It was Mum's birthday, she had a lovely day and we got the opportunity to take her for a meal and a drink or 2 all thanks to the wonderful team that care for her in more ways than one. I can't thank them all enough and we as a family consider them as an extension of our family. The manager has done
so much and is very approachable, hope she stays for many years to come. Also, we lost our dad/grandad in January also a resident and the care and compassion they all gave was outstanding.

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews.     2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

We currently have 4 lovely spacious en-suite rooms overlooking the private gardens of our residential dementia suite. We have available some beautiful spacious rooms on our Lawrence and Sherbrooke suites. If you would like to come and view the rooms and have a tour of our lovely home, then please contact us to arrange. We will be a happy for you to pop in for a coffee no appointments needed. Alder House has a home from home feel with a fantastic staff and management team, come and say hello.
