Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is the best one could ever hope for in a care home. The home has everything needed to make it caring, comforting and rewarding. The rooms are brilliant. The catering is very good. The garden is amazing. Above all the staff are so good. From the manager down to the cleaners all are top class and they really care for all the residents and absolutely love my mum which makes me feel very comfortable when I have to leave her in their capable hands. Well done to everyone working there.
Thank you so much for writing this lovely review of Alder House and your experience with us regarding the care your mother is receiving. It's a pleasure to share the laughs and giggles with your mum she is truly part of the Alder family thank you. I will pass on your comments to the team.
All aspects very satisfactory and I am delighted to have chosen this for my home. Particular thanks to all staff.
Thank you,
Gemma
The wedding was being live steamed, so the staff at the home went out of their way to stream it on the large screen in the cinema room. Both my dad and my wife's mother were able to invite their friends to watch it with them and then they put on a fantastic buffet for them to make the day so, so special, all of the staff were brilliant and made it a day that they will never forget.
A big thanks to all of them.
Dear Andrew, thank you for taking the time to write a review about the home and the wonderful day your family had at Alder House, at such a special occasion. We are so happy that we were able to contribute to ensure your father, mother-in-law and their friends felt included in their grandson's big...
My dad went to live at Alder House in November 2022. He has Alzheimer's and was unsafe to live alone at home. We were told he had some challenging behaviour but the carers have been brilliant with him. He has good days and bad. But is safe and eating three good meals a day.
Thank you for your lovely review of your dad's home. I am sure it was difficult to choose the right environment for your dad and I am glad you feel you chose the right one. Your dad is a pleasure to spend time with and we are glad he found a routine he can now cope with and a life that includes his new Alder friends. Thank you.
We would all highly recommend Alder House to care for your loved ones.

My dearest friend resides at Alder House. I have not been able to visit her for a while due to covid and ill health. So, when I visited her on the 3rd of December, I was delighted to find her looking so well and cared for. The home is lovely, clean and the staff are absolutely amazing, they made me feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere in the home gives you a warm glow, it's lively and full of laughter. I didn't want to leave.

Started with respite care for a month but was extended at the request of the resident who after 3 months asked to become a permanent resident. Through Covid Lockdown, every care, involvement and consideration was given by the wonderful staff in very difficult conditions. This is a very happy home. On visiting regularly, the thing which shines through is the dedication and enthusiasm of the staff.

It was Mum's birthday, she had a lovely day and we got the opportunity to take her for a meal and a drink or 2 all thanks to the wonderful team that care for her in more ways than one. I can't thank them all enough and we as a family consider them as an extension of our family. The manager has done so much and is very approachable, hope she stays for many years to come. Also, we lost our dad/grandad in January also a resident and the care and compassion they all gave was outstanding.

My mother has been a resident at Alder House for over four years and I have always found her care to have been of a high standard. Both my mother and I were apprehensive about my mother becoming a resident in a care home, having had a less than satisfactory experience when my father had to go into a home (about 20 years ago). We have both been pleasantly surprised by the real dedication of the staff to treat residents with care, compassion, and respect. Real effort is put into keeping the residents mentally stimulated as well as clean, well-fed and secure. They treat her as an individual without being patronising or officious.
Thank you for taking the time to review Alder House Care Home. We are delighted to hear that your mother is happy/settled living in the loving care community that we create, giving you and your family the peace of mind you deserve. I will be sure to pass on your kind words to the rest of the staff team. Best wishes, Rachel.
Alder House has been fantastic for my mother. Her dementia has worsened over the three years she has lived here and the amazing staff have adapted her care needs as necessary. She is very settled and I have real peace of mind knowing that she is being so well cared for. Thank you.

My father passed away in March 2021 after spending 15 months at Alder House. Although he was declining throughout his time there the staff continued to give him the attention, love and compassion he deserved and would have appreciated. Visits were curtailed by Coronavirus but staff always helped him with phone and video calls and stayed with him until the call was over. The staff took it in turns to sit with him during his final days and made it possible for the family to say their goodbyes and we are deeply thankful for that. Thank you for your care and compassion.
Thank you for taking the time to review Alder House Care Home and for your lovely feedback. The well-being and safety of our residents is always our top priority, especially during these unprecedented times. It was a pleasure to have your father staying with us at Alder House and we are delighted...
My father, who is almost 97, has been at Alder House for nearly 3 years. At first, he was upset and confused about the sudden change in his life, but he was treated with such kindness, sympathy and understanding by all the staff there that he soon settled down and it is now his home. He has a lovely spacious room with a big bed, en suite and TV, and use of the comfortable, bright living room. Should he wish he can use the cinema, cafe or library too. The dining room is organised like a restaurant and the generous meals always look and smell delicious. I am so impressed with the efforts that the staff make to engage and involve the residents in a variety of fun activities. Dad, who has increasing trouble with dementia, has been helped to write his life story and is treated with respect and dignity by the always approachable staff. Whenever I visit he looks happy and contented. We are so glad we chose Alder House and can't recommend it highly enough.

Our highly trained staff team go above and beyond to ensure that all our residents receives the highest standard of care and feels welcome here. Best Wishes, Ryan.
I don't normally write reviews but I felt the need to. My nana came for respite care and let's face it our loved ones never like to leave home. At first, I did feel guilty for needing some time to recharge my batteries. This care home was by far the best choice and reassured me that my nana would be given a high standard of care. My nana is very particular and she loved being here. I've seen a few and they are shocking. Alder House is beautiful, clean, wonderful staff, a warm friendly welcome, they couldn't do enough for you. Alder House, will always be my first choice for my nana and knowing she's in the best possible care, it allowed me to relax and enjoy valuable time with my family. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to review Alder House Care Home. Our staff team ensure to go beyond the standards to provide the highest care for all of our residents, whether that be for those in short respite care or for our long term residents. We are delighted to hear that your nana felt safe and...
Sadly my mum passed away. She went into Alder House struggling with dementia, chronic loneliness, anxiety, angst and was refusing to eat, drink or tolerate carers. Amazingly, due to the understanding, patience and care of the staff, she soon settled, made friends, put on weight and was far less anxious. Our regret as a family is that she didn't live long enough to experience her newfound contentment for longer. Hospitalisation for a minor chest infection and the contraction of Covid took her life within days of admission to the ward. Thank you to all the staff for giving her a better quality of life and their caring contact with us as relatives in a very difficult time. Professional, genuinely caring people.
Thank you for taking the time to review Alder House Care Home. It was a pleasure to have your mother as one of our residents at our home and she is deeply missed by the staff and residents of Alder House Care Home. Our highly trained staff team go above the standard so that each of our residents...
I wish to say thank you to all staff involved in caring for my mother. I found the staff to be professional at all times and in a friendly manner. I am grateful for all their hard work in respect of caring for my mother and making her feel special and welcome over the past months whilst moving into her new home. It is obvious she feels secure and has settled; making friendships and continuing to be her usual happy self with staff giving her a sense of purpose each day. As a family we know we can contact the care home at any time to arrange a video call and or visit (COVID-19 safe) to see her. This gives us as family confidence knowing that our mother is being looked after well and all is being done to make these unprecedented times go as smooth as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to review Alder House Care Home.
