Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare

I came for respite after having several weeks in hospital. I realised that I can no longer be safe alone at home nor do the things I was doing before. Also my family would worry. I have decided to stay here where I am cared for and safe. The staff are all so kind, respectful and polite. there are activities to go to. The food is good and the gardens beautiful.

The care staff and management at Alder House treated our mother with such care, love, dignity and understanding. Our mum felt respected, loved and safe at Alder House. The room was beautiful, and Mum loved looking out of the window at the flowers and the frequent people coming and going. She enjoyed the meals, the activities and the joyous entertainment and "feeling". The carers and all the team were exceptional - they put their hearts and souls into their jobs - we couldn't have asked for more, and Mum was in the best place we could have ever hoped for. We had total peace of mind right until the end of Mum's life.

With limited IT ability, I came to the point of despair at my failure to renew my car insurance. It took admin staff nearly two hours to sort it but they would not give up and my despair was going. I describe this incident because it is typical of the willingness of staff to help residents with personal problems.

My nan lives in Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare. She's not the easiest of ladies to look after but the staff still do their very best for her.

Choosing Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare on my grandma's final weeks of her life was the best choice we made. All staff from all departments made us feel welcome and cared for. The level of move my grandma received was unmatched! The love and care we saw from staff towards my grandma came naturally from the care staff. As a family we can't thank the home and their staff enough.

Alder House Care Home - Avery Healthcare is the best one could ever hope for in a care home. The home has everything needed to make it caring, comforting and rewarding. The rooms are brilliant. The catering is very good. The garden is amazing. Above all the staff are so good. From the manager down to the cleaners all are top class and they really care for all the residents and absolutely love my mum which makes me feel very comfortable when I have to leave her in their capable hands. Well done to everyone working there.

My dad went to live at Alder House in November 2022. He has Alzheimer's and was unsafe to live alone at home. We were told he had some challenging behaviour but the carers have been brilliant with him. He has good days and bad. But is safe and eating three good meals a day.

We would all highly recommend Alder House to care for your loved ones.

My dearest friend resides at Alder House. I have not been able to visit her for a while due to covid and ill health. So, when I visited her on the 3rd of December, I was delighted to find her looking so well and cared for. The home is lovely, clean and the staff are absolutely amazing, they made me feel welcome and at home. The atmosphere in the home gives you a warm glow, it's lively and full of laughter. I didn't want to leave.

Started with respite care for a month but was extended at the request of the resident who after 3 months asked to become a permanent resident. Through Covid Lockdown, every care, involvement and consideration was given by the wonderful staff in very difficult conditions. This is a very happy home. On visiting regularly, the thing which shines through is the dedication and enthusiasm of the staff.

It was Mum's birthday, she had a lovely day and we got the opportunity to take her for a meal and a drink or 2 all thanks to the wonderful team that care for her in more ways than one. I can't thank them all enough and we as a family consider them as an extension of our family. The manager has done so much and is very approachable, hope she stays for many years to come. Also, we lost our dad/grandad in January also a resident and the care and compassion they all gave was outstanding.

My husband was at Alder House for a week's respite care. We found it to be a lovely home. We were given a warm welcome and most importantly found everyone to be kind. All the staff went to great lengths to make the stay a success. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident at Alder House for over four years and I have always found her care to have been of a high standard. The quality of accommodation, food, and the activities provided for the residents is excellent. The care and dignity shown by the staff to the residents should also be admired and recognised.

My father has resided here for over 3 years and my family and myself have nothing but praise for Alder House. All the staff are extremely caring and try to ensure the residents feel it is their home. The food and cleanliness are excellent. I would not hesitate in recommending Alder House.

Both my mother and I were apprehensive about my mother becoming a resident in a care home, having had a less than satisfactory experience when my father had to go into a home (about 20 years ago). We have both been pleasantly surprised by the real dedication of the staff to treat residents with care, compassion, and respect. Real effort is put into keeping the residents mentally stimulated as well as clean, well-fed and secure. They treat her as an individual without being patronising or officious.

Alder House has been fantastic for my mother. Her dementia has worsened over the three years she has lived here and the amazing staff have adapted her care needs as necessary. She is very settled and I have real peace of mind knowing that she is being so well cared for. Thank you.
