Alexandra Mill Care Home is welcoming with a happy friendly atmosphere and plenty of activities to join in, the care is first-rate with each individual resident's needs and wishes willingly catered for. Highly recommend.

When I first arrived I came in the front door. The decoration and furnishing are wow, better than a five-star hotel. My room was large and airy with a window from the floor to ceiling with a good outlook. The bathroom is ensuite with a shower you can sit down in. Staff and management are like part of
the family. Willing to help me as I am unable to walk. I have to use the hoist which enables me to be put in a wheelchair, bed and toilet. They have facilities like a hair salon, games room, IT room, cinema room and a library. The food is excellent and I can't fault anything. This would be my first choice for any member of my family. Thank you.

Following a diagnosis of untreatable multiple organ failure in August 2023, my wife was placed under end-of-life palliative care and spent her last months in Alexandra Mill Care Home. The care and compassion she received were exemplary and I cannot thank the management and staff enough for what they
did, even putting up with my odd and often extended visiting hours together with my poor fashion sense!
This is a well-managed and ultra-professional care home, well-equipped with a high standard of comfort for residents and visitors.
The business model for the care home has been well thought through, the building and surrounds are modern and well cared for (though if I venture a little criticism, double bank car parks are never very satisfactory but that's the retired town planner in me).
My greatest thanks must go to the management and staff, both nursing and domestic for what they did in my wife's last months, nothing was too much trouble. It was a privilege to meet them every day and I shall miss the care and compassion they extended to my wife and our family. They have my unreserved thanks and admiration for what they did for us.

After Dad suffered a stroke last year, he eventually ended up in an unsuitable care home for several weeks. Since Dad moved into Alexander Mill, he has been much happier and content, and his mobility has improved. Though he suffers from mild dementia this is no longer a concern to us as the care he
is receiving is excellent. All the staff make an effort to communicate with him even if they are just passing on their way to see another resident. He is always saying how well they look after him and how nice the staff are. He is also very happy with the choice and quality of the food. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. The entertainment and therapy sessions are also excellent and well-organised.

Alexandra Mill is like no other care home! At 93 and following a series of falls and a spell in hospital, my father made the decision that he needed help with day-to-day living. After a not-so-satisfactory time in another local home, Alexandra Mill opened, and my father and I went to investigate. The
resident experience manager was first-class and extremely welcoming. The senior nurse interviewed my father, and he was accepted! He took up residence and has never looked back. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. When I visit, I am always greeted and am part of the family. The manager has answered all my questions. Would highly recommend!

My mother moved into Alexandra Mill in November 2023. Since being in the home, she has become more outgoing and joins in regularly with activities. She has commented that the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. From a family point of view, we are very impressed with Alexandra Mill and
the standard of care that Mum has received.

My father-in-law absolutely loves living at Alexandra Mill. He's the happiest I have ever seen him. He loves everything about it, the friendships, the activities, the staff and food. He is treated extremely well with dignity and respect and he is no longer lonely.

My mum has recently moved to Alexandra Mill Care Home as she has dementia. She is doing extremely well and the care, interaction and stimulation she has already received has transformed her! Yes, she still has medical needs, but part of the old mum is back. We are so delighted and the relief we feel
as a family is beyond words. The staff are exceptional, special mention to the staff, their professionalism and kindness has been amazing. There are so many members of staff we would like to thank including kitchen, restaurant, nursing team, care team and the Home Manager also. All have been amazing and approachable.
Mum went in withdrawn, hard of hearing along with a host of other issues, this is no longer the case! Her hearing has actually improved. This is largely due to stimulation and interaction. She looks so much better also. Well done to the whole team, thank you so much.

My mum was moved from a care home owing to her needs requiring nursing care. I can not put into words how my mum has changed in herself with the wonderful care she is now receiving at Alexandra Mill Care Home. She is 98 years old and to see the improvement with the pain she was suffering is truly amazing.
In her own words, she told me "They are making my legs better". Keep up the good work to all the staff at Alexandra Mill.

My mum moved in here at the beginning of September as she was diagnosed with dementia after a heart attack in July. It has been a lovely start to her time in a care home.
Everything from the beginning has been wonderful, the introduction, the help, the advice, all the staff, the lovely building and
all the support given to me.
Mum has been looked after very well and nothing is too much trouble. There is always something going on, which for residents who require stimulation this is excellent and one of the reasons I chose this home.
It offers so much more than other care homes and personally I find the whole place like a hotel.
Compared to the cost of other homes this is excellent value for money.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone needing these services.

I was really impressed, very modern facilities, very accessible for anyone. The staff were amazing and absolutely lovely really talkative and got on with everyone. They really look after the people in the home with amazing care. They put on a lovely event for a birthday. The food provided was amazing,
felt like you were at a really posh restaurant. Nothing to fault I really enjoyed my day and experience visiting. The atmosphere was lovely. Would really recommend it to anyone looking for a care home.

My dad went to Alexandra Mill for palliative care following time in hospital and a bad experience in a previous care home.
He sadly passed away on Tuesday. The standard of nursing care at Alexandra Mill is excellent. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their kindness not only to my dad but also
to us as a family. It is a great comfort to know that he was cared for with such dignity at the end.
It makes such a difference to know that Dad's final days were comfortable and without distress and words do not cover how grateful we are to all the staff there, with special thanks to the manager.

Wonderful care for my father on palliative care, the staff are caring, considerate.
Would highly recommend if you are looking for care for a family member. It feels like a home from home. We moved Dad here from a different home and this place is head and shoulders above that.

My dad has been a resident for just over two weeks and the difference in him is unbelievable. He is so much happier, looks healthier and tells me every time I go that he is the happiest man around. He loves the food and that the fact he can choose his meals. His personal care is great, he is having
his teeth brushed every day (he didn’t at his old place) and has had showers and even a bath (again, none of this at his old care home). He’s been out of his bed in a chair and been taken into the garden and day room (his old care home got him out once in ten months) just such a lovely, caring home and the staff seem truly happy in their role which then reflects in the care given to residents and the time spent with them. Thank you so much, it helps us, as a family, knowing he’s well cared for and happy.

Stephanie is employed by Anavo Group as the Registered Manager for Alexandra Mill. Stephanie has a wealth of experience. She has worked in health and social Care for 14 years in varying different roles. She started her career as a care assistant in 2011, completed her nurse training in 2016, worked in leadership roles such as clinical lead and deputy manager finally progressing into a home manager in 2020. Stephanie has always been very passionate about care provision and has worked right through the ranks to have great insight into how challenging care can be. Stephanie has a very thorough knowledge and understanding of the Fundamental Standards from the Care Quality Commission, Safeguarding Adults and many local authorities contracting teams.
