It has been a difficult time for everyone, but I must say, we have been well looked after, even though there is a shortage of staff. All the staff have been very good and kind.
Reply from Kate Emery, Manager at Beaumont ManorHi Brenda, thank you for your comments. As you know, all the staff have pulled together to ensure we have enough staff during our recent outbreak and our recruitment is going really well. My nan was 1 of 12 who died at the start of 2021 after contracting covid in the home and we are still waiting for a refund of overpaid fees. Through our grief we have not even had the courtesy of a response to our communications, they are heartless and unempathetic towards grieving relatives.

Whilst my aunt's care was adequate, the management of the refund of her care fees, due after her death, was not. No one made any effort to refund the amount due to be repaid to her estate and seven months later, we are still waiting. Emails and calls are ignored.

My mother has been a resident here for the past 20 months, including the whole period of the covid pandemic which was difficult for everyone. The ethos and excellent standards of the home are due to the hands-on manager. Her finger is on the pulse and she both expects, trains and checks that her staff
are delivering high-quality care. Through my mother, I have gained experience of other homes and I feel relief that she finished her life at Beaumont Manor.

My short time here has been excellent. The care and kindness I've received have been humbling from all departments. During this time of Covid-19, every effort has been made to keep residents safe and secure. So at this point, I'd like to say thank you to the staff for their help and support. I hope
I will stay here for the time I have left.

Nothing is too much trouble for ANY of the staff, this includes housekeeping, they pop in to see my mother-in-law very often throughout the day to see if she is okay or needs anything and the kitchen staff tempts her with various things off the menu as she has such a poor appetite now. All the staff
are so caring and kind and I am so grateful to them for looking after my dear mother-in-law, and when we Facetime her you can see she is very happy and content and has good interaction with everyone. A big thank you to all of you.

My mother came from another home which didn’t have nursing care which she now needs. As soon as she came into the home she was treated with respect and dignity from all staff. I cannot praise all the staff at Beaumont enough not just the carers but housekeeping and kitchen staff who regularly check
to see if she’s ok and as she has little appetite the kitchen staff will always try to cater for her needs. It has been a great relief to know that she is being well looked after when I cannot visit regularly.

I cannot praise Beaumont Manor and all its staff highly enough. My mother was poorly and fading when we took the decision that she needed full-time care. The nursing staff and carers have totally turned her condition around. She is now fully engaging with us and is participating in many of the activities.
She enjoys the music afternoons in the library, the films in the cinema room and knitting sessions, making squares for puppy blankets. We are grateful to all the staff for the care and time given to my mum. It is reassuring to know she is happy and enjoying herself.
Reply from Kay Farrell, Manager at Beaumont ManorThank you for your kind comments, in the hard climate we are in with restrictions on entertainment and visiting it is good to know that our residents at Beaumont Manor are still enjoying social activities safely.

My mother-in-law moved into Beaumont Manor in late August 2020. Care was good, staff kind. Lockdown was pretty much all her stay.
January 2021, Mum became sick, we were not called or told it was coronavirus, initially. We had no unprompted calls about her illness, calls from nursing staff were under
duress, but we wanted professional guidance. Sadly, Mum passed 22nd January.
Since then, no condolences by way of a call, card or when picking up personal items (all possessions were dumped into two cases) with no care taken.
But, we did receive, a bill for a chiropodist seven days after her demise, also the bill for Februarys care.
No contact from management, apart from initial meetings, then a brief call informing us Mum had the virus.
In fact, 30 mins after her death, you called, "had we a funeral directors, or chosen songs"?
Empathy hasn't been obvious, shouldn't staff be trained to deal with grieving families?
No end of life experience is good, but, kind words and actions have a huge impact.

I cannot recommend Beaumount Manor enough. The staff care is always amazing. My dear mother is cared for 24 hours a day by kind and dedicated staff. They go above and beyond to make sure all her needs are met and we couldn't be more grateful for their dedication. They made the transition of moving Mum
in from our house as smooth as possible and even during these difficult times they have been helpful always with a smile and it is always clean.

The care my father received for the few weeks he was in this home was absolutely amazing. When he arrived in the home, straight from hospital, he had so much wrong with him and could no longer be looked after at home. We were really worried as Covid-19 restrictions didn't allow us to visit him. We could
still video message him or call and it was never too much trouble when we did. All of the staff were wonderful, especially as they were so busy during his time in the home. They were always so polite and chatty and the nurse would call back if she was too busy to take the call initially. The care home looks amazing and has so many amenities for the residents, I know my father appreciated the care and treatment he had.
Unfortunately, my father's health declined rapidly. We were allowed to spend his final moments with him. The staff were all amazing from receptionist, carers, nurses and even the chef who made us food while we sat with him.
I cannot recommend this care home enough!

If you want to be shown any respect do not use this care home and if you want to be with your loved ones in their last hours do not use this care home. I am so sorry my Uncle went to Beaumont Manor.
Reply from Richard Maddison, Regional Manager at Beaumont ManorI am sorry that you feel the staff at Beaumont Manor did not live up to their normal high standards that previous people have written about. It is a hard time for care homes relationships during the quarantine time of new residents coming back from hospital and their families who have not got to know us well and formed a bond. We need to learn from your experience as you have missed out on the services we normally provide like dining and entertainment.
I can assure you your relative was not on his own and I am glad his family got to see him during the pandemic. We are devasted you feel this way and I am available to discuss any issues with you to learn from in the future.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.427)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.427) out of 10 for Beaumont Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.551 for Beaumont Manor is calculated as follows: ( (134 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 185 Ratings = 4.551
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.876 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beaumont Manor is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4. 16 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.4 = 0.976
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
