I was lucky enough to secure a room at Parklands for my elderly step mum, who was suffering from Parkinson's and no longer able to live at home. We were told that her room was her home and that we were able to bring small pieces of furniture, pictures, ornaments and photos. It made the move so much easier for my step-mum but also for family and friends.
Every member of staff treated her with care and compassion. As one staff member said, "They are like family to us, we grow so fond of them all". We couldn't fault it.
It's obviously a beautiful home, like a 5-star hotel, but it's the staff that really make it.

We are very lucky to have found it.

I used Beverley Parklands Care Home for respite care following a spinal operation. This was my first ever involvement with carers and care homes and I could not have been more satisfied. I had an excellent room (suite). Very good food and the overall care exceeded my expectations. The staff at Parklands are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

My mother, who is now 97, has been living at Beverley Parklands on a permanent basis since my dad died over two years ago. She and Dad had also lived there together, for a period after Dad broke a hip. Although Mum is no longer as physically active as she once was, she still retains her full mental faculties and would, as she always used to, complain if standards were below her expectations. Since arriving at Parklands her only real main gripe has been that some of the other residents are somewhat hard of hearing and they can't hear what she's talking to them about!
From my own observations, the relationship between staff and residents is excellent. The rooms are light and airy and are always spotlessly clean as are the rest of the premises. If needed, help is only a call away, whether you're a resident or a relative. I have always been able to speak to someone if I've had any minor concerns (there have been no major ones).

I have no hesitation in recommending Parklands to all who enquire.

My mother transferred from another care home to Beverley Parklands Care Home to be closer to her previous GP, home and family. The care from all the staff to my mother has been excellent. She is starting to join in the activities which is not something that sh did at the other care home and is more involved with other residents.

I am always greeted warmly by staff when I visit my friend, they understand the need for flexibility with visiting around my work commitments. The staff treat my friend as an individual with care and compassion, and support her sleep needs, even if she wants to go to bed at 6.30! Above all, my friend is happy and cared for. Can't praise them enough.

I am very happy with the care the resident is receiving. All the staff are very friendly, kind and understanding of her needs.

I particularly like that they try and make her feel needed and give her little tasks to do. She is very excited about the new cafe which is due to open and is hoping she can also help here now that she has retired.

Dad moved into Beverley Parklands in April last year. He immediately liked his room which is a good size with views over the garden towards the fields. The staff hung some paintings of dads up, so on the day he moved in it felt like his. He has his own ensuite shower room which was important for him. He has settled and is content and well looked after.
The staff have always been very friendly and supportive and are doing their best in what has been, on and off, challenging circumstances with Covid.
In summer, Dad enjoyed sitting out in the well-tended garden and walking around the flower beds. He also likes to sit out on the balcony which has good views over the garden. (The balcony does need attention to the astroturf, and planting of flower pots and awnings to provide shade.)
The food is good and the tea trolley comes round mornings and afternoons with biscuits and cakes. He also gets his newspaper delivered to his room.

We are grateful to all the carers who look after our dear Dad.

My mum has been at Parklands Care Home for 2 years due to becoming too frail to care for herself at home. After falling at home she suffered a fracture then Sepsis followed by Covid.
Since going into Parklands she has settled in and though frail she is able to join in with other residents and participate in life at the home. I know that she is being taken good care of at all times.
The staff have all been wonderful and approachable to her and to the family. It is a relaxed and happy environment and I know she loves 'her girls' (staff).

Hopefully, now restrictions are being lifted life should become more relaxed for us all.

My mother has been in the care of Parklands for the last three years, during which time her memory has deteriorated considerably. She has always received excellent care from the staff. My mother is unable to look after herself adequately, but the staff are always able and willing to attend to her needs. She has been encouraged to take part in activities, which she probably would not do without such encouragement.

My father was a resident at Beverley Parklands Care Home for a little over two and a half years, and my wife and I, have nothing but the highest praise for the staff and management team. After suffering a stroke, which ended his independent living, Dad's mobility was significantly restricted, but he still wanted to live his life to the fullest he could, and in particular, follow his passion for painting. This he achieved with the wonderful help, support and understanding of everyone in all departments.
After his earlier stay in a different care home, we were so relieved at the calm experienced in this new setting. The staff philosophy in his former home was that he lived at their place of work and needed to fit into their scheme of work. Dad's complaints were endless. At Parklands, it was the reverse - the staff came to work in his home and catered for his individual needs and wishes with respect and patience.

Thank you to the staff, the management and also those at the head office.

Despite living in London and the challenges that posed to visiting my father as regularly as possible, I always found the staff at Beverly Park Lands extremely helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble in organising visits, even through the challenges of lock-down when the garden was made available and a special room with a perspex screen to see one another. I am thankful to all the careers for being so attentive to my father in his final years.

My Father has been a resident of Parklands for 5 months now and we are delighted by the quality of care and support that he receives. There are always a lot of staff around to ask for help or enquire about his welfare; the team knows him well and understands his care needs.

Dad is very sociable and joins in with a lot of the activities on offer - 2 of which seem to happen every day. Residents are encouraged by the activity staff to join in and Dad always enjoys the afternoon cakes. It really is like a hotel with care! The housekeeping team has also been very helpful in settling him in and organising the practical things to make his room homely and personal.

My mum reached her 96th Birthday this month. It’s clear to me that the staff all know her well and tell me about her ‘sleepy days’ when she won’t get up and her lovely smile (most days). I’m confident that she’s well looked after and cared for.

Mum (90), a resident since March 2021 having moved from another care home. I helped mum choose Parklands, as I had not been able to see mum except through a closed window for 10 months during the pandemic. Parklands were forward thinking in their visiting policy, adapting a downstairs room with outdoor access. Inevitable covid outbreak status has for the most part been handled with common sense, to enable Essential Caregiver status and visits to family enabled when possible.

The staff here are brilliant and very approachable about all aspects of her care. Mum has mild dementia and they are very used to dealing with all aspects of mum’s mental health. Mum is encouraged to join in the activities and loves going out in the care home minibus. The care home garden is just lovely and mum enjoys popping down to care for ‘her’ flowers. Also, there is a large balcony she has easy access. A gluten-free diet is provided, although not always to mum's taste. Overall excellent standards

Her particular needs and requirements being met with dignity and genuine loving care. Needless to say, I have no concerns with entrusting the wellbeing of my wife to the staff of this exceptional Care Home.

Mum moved into Parklands in December 2020 during Covid. It has been a very challenging time for the home and I have nothing but praise and thanks on how they have managed to look after, care and keep Mum safe.
All the staff are wonderful and will do anything to help.
Mum enjoys the activities and trips out organised by the staff.

During Covid restrictions, the ability to meet Mum in the safe designated visitor room was a life saver. Thank you Parklands for setting a room aside for this.

I cannot praise Beverley Parklands highly enough. Mum has been a resident there since September 2019 and is living with dementia which is sadly progressing so she is not as aware of things as when she first went there.
Everything from the food, cleanliness, caring staff, facilities and gardens is second to none.
When first looking at care homes I deliberately went unannounced and was struck then, as I am now at how genuinely caring the staff are with the residents. Although the surroundings are lovely (currently having a refurb) that would mean nothing without the staff who are looking after mum day in day out.
Every occasion on the calendar get celebrated thanks to the tireless efforts of the manager and the activities team who must have the patience of saints. This is particularly obvious when I ask Mum what she has been doing and she says "nothing", despite photos of her joining in the various activities!

Beverley Parklands, you thoroughly deserve the Outstanding CQC rating.

A great experience overall.
I made initial contact with Beverley Parklands to enquire for my 90 year old uncle and aunt. The Lifestyle Lead showed me round at short notice, and then made herself available to show my uncle and his sister around the facilities too. This was not a quick visit and at no time did she make us feel anything other than important.
My aunt was then admitted to hospital and there was an acute need for respite for my uncle.
The Lifestyle Lead was attentive, interested, helpful and effective, she ensured my uncle's admission for respite was as pain-free as possible.
The care was good, kind and considerate. It became obvious that the care needs of both my aunt and uncle were greater than initially anticipated.

We were so impressed with Yorkare Homes, we agreed on admission to another care home within the group where my aunt and uncle are now resident.

Samantha Atkin
Samantha AtkinJob Title:Home Manager

I have worked in the healthcare sector for 20 years, six of those in management roles. Along the way, I’ve achieved my Level 3 in Health and Social Care, my Care Practitioner Award, and a diploma in accounting. I’m currently completing my Level 5 Leader in Adult Care qualification. Before becoming Home Manager, I worked as a Care Practitioner and Deputy Manager, experiences that gave me a strong foundation for the role I hold today.

I joined Care UK through a transfer from another home, and after researching the organisation, I was excited to continue my career here. Care UK’s focus on high standards of care for residents and colleagues matches my own values. To do this role well, I believe you must be approachable, dependable, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.

The highlight of my day is always time spent with residents, listening to their life stories and favourite memories. Supporting them to achieve their goals is especially rewarding. I’m proud to lead the team here at Beverley Parklands, where we work together to create a true sense of family and belonging.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my young daughter and reading.
